The San Marcos Dental Studio is deceptive in its payment schedules. There is no full disclosure of payments. You are deferred to a loan company called Cherry. They determine your payment schedule. The dental company does not disclose that each separate treatment has its own payment schedule. The loan company contracts for the separate payments which could mean several a month adding up to hundreds of dollars for the month that need to be paid and will be automatically placed on your debit or credit card. Be careful. The receptionists will not disclose this info to you. Very deceptive practice. They do it with smiles. They in the office will not help you. The Cherry loan company will not help you. This is not a boost for no reason. I left in tears bc of the AMAZING work they did. I did a push on my teeth on concrete stairs bc there was gaps in the a stairwell. I had been pushed this way and that for treatments that were 40k.... everytime being referred somewhere else. I not only got proper treatment. He actually listened to my suggestions and approaches. Long story short. Worth the cost which they made 10k less. Worth the treatment....I literally had tears in my eyes with they fixed my broken front tooth. They have all my love. Beware of this clinic. It's been a few months and I and other patients have not been reimbursed yet for the fees we paid. They're out of network so they require you to pay immediately after the service. However, they don't send the claims to your insurance provider on time. And when they send it, the claims reports lack several information. And good luck reaching out to them. Nobody answers the calls. They always go to VM and they don't call you back. I'm going to write a short novel as I feel like in order to understand, you need the whole background. I am a 43 year old woman who deals with extreme anxiety. And not here and there. I gave myself an actual heart attack from stressing out about life so much during pandemic. San Marcos Dental Studio has dealt with my issues and made me very comfortable. Dr Shahrokh is extremely gentle and readily and easily available. In my case, because of my heart and the meds, my teeth just started falling out. I stopped smiling entirely. I visited several dentists in the area. All who just wanted to pull everything and talk me into 60k worth of implants. Of course, insurance sucks so I was in a real situation. I couldn't eat, my mouth hurt so bad, I kept getting abscesses and I felt like crap. Again, I'm only 43....I wanted to feel good and look good. I found San Marcos Dental Studio online looking at dentists in my area. I made an appointment with Tammy, the office administrator. She listened to my problem and got me in fast. The dental equipment is very new and up to date. After reviewing my mouth, Dr. Shahrokh suggested partials as opposed to implants. He was the 1st doctor to tell me that implants in my specific situation would only last 10 years. My jaw would push them out, just like my natural teeth. I had to see an oral surgeon. But Tammy got everything covered by my insurance through medical doctors, specifically saying things were medically necessary. So, I was completely out during the pulling of 13 teeth! Also, I should add that before the oral surgeon started, he had a question on one of my teeth, Dr. Shahrokh answered directly. Even the nurses at the surgeon were impressed. On the way to the surgery, we picked up my partials at San Marcos Dental Studio, and they were placed directly after surgery, so I wasn't toothless. It's now been 3 weeks since surgery. I have a fabulous smile again. I'm confident for the 1st time in years. I did break a fake tooth on my partial yesterday. I called the office and they saw me 1st thing this morning! It had to go to the lab for fixing but I'll have it back in the morning. It's very hard to find a good dentist these days. It's not like it was in the 90s when dentists were completely covered. It feels like dentistry has become an elective. And that's bad. Our teeth frame our face! And are extremely important to our health! This office is the one for you if you are anything like me, and deathly afraid. It's ridiculously clean, up to date, and so so comforting. They have a patient for life with me. I hope my long-winded review helps just 1 person who is putting off dental care because of anxiety. If just 1 person can get help as I did, then the hour it took me to write this was all worth it! Want to make sure you are treated fairly with honest prices? Want a simple estimate range of what a typical filler may cost? I have been going here for years and man has it changed. The people are still very nice but they tried to add on additional procedures that I didn't need like crazy!!! They tried to tell me I needed to replace a tooth and it would take 3 sessions... first two sessions would cost me over 4 grand out of pocket with great insurance. They couldn't even give me a quote to actually replace the tooth so that could have cost me over 10 grand! I got a second opinion at my mom's dentist and he said I just needed a crown. The Front Office (Angelica and Priscilla) were so good I re-named their position as Director of First Impressions because they set the tone for the rest of the visit. Ramsey the Hygienist and Manny the Chair Side Assistant were amazing as well. They always made me feel like I was the most important of their clients. My bubble however got burst when I realized that they treated everyone the same. Dr. Shahrokh himself was skillful, friendly and made me feel very comfortable. DONT GO TO THIS CLINIC! DO NOT RECOMMEND! I would have rated this clinic negative 5 stars if it was an option! The dentist Dr. Shahrokh and the employees there were NOT honest with me when I visited! I had a very small filling job that needed to be redone, but the dentist had told me that the ONLY WAY to fix my tooth was to do a crown which would cost about $800 WITH insurance! The dentist and staff wouldn't give me any other options when I had told them that I am a student and couldn't afford it. They straight up told me there wasn't any other way and told me to do financing! The reason why I am writing this review is because I went to a couple different dentists afterward for consultation on my tooth, and they all said my tooth just needed a small new filler, and it was a very small issue that could be fixed easily! Getting a crown for my tooth is completely UNNECESSARY in my case as Dr. Shahrokh insisted! I know businesses are having a hard time dealing with this pandemic, but everyone is experiencing hard time during this time! It doesn't justify the dishonest and malpractices for businesses like this clinic in particular! There are a lot of good dental clinics here in the county, you can take a pass on this one for sure! read more

I can't begin to tell you how amazing this place is! I had a dental emergency and I am one of those nightmare patients that doesn't have insurance, haven't been to a dentist in years and my mouth is pretty bad. I had a tooth that had gotten so bad I couldn't sleep or eat or anything without severe pain. I had been to 3 other dentists before here and they all took me in saying they would work with me, then took some x-rays and charged me 100$. Then they all wanted to send me to other places where they just wanted to take more x-rays and then charge me for the consultations and they never did any actual work on my tooth. I was on my 5th day of horrible excruciating pain, and I finally was recommended to San Marcos Dental Studio by a friend (BEST FRIEND!). I called and they wanted to see me that day! I went in and immediately got taken to a chair and got a full mouth x-ray, which none of the other dentists did. Then we discussed what the best plan was and hashed out an amazing price and then got the work done right then. I literally went in at 9:30, and then left completely fixed up at 12:30. How amazing is that!! I dare another dentist's office to try and compete with this one. San Marcos Dental Studio is now my personal dentist and I will only be seeing them for my dental needs.
