Before I went to Dr. Lisa Weiss at Rancho Santa Fe Optometry for help, I was suffering from chronic headaches and dizziness after working on my computer. I'm taking online classes and I have to read a lot, so I was getting headaches almost everyday. It was awful! I've gone to regular eye doctors in the past and had already tried 3 different pairs of glasses, but my past prescriptions for glasses always made my headaches and dizziness worse. Eventually I would just stop wearing the glasses. My experience at her office was very pleasant and comfortable, unlike my past experiences at other eye doctors. Dr. Weiss picked up on my medical history of severe debilitating migraines and multiple concussions. She gave me a new prescription for computer and reading glasses and recommended a tint to prevent migraines. It has helped so much! Dr. Weiss also recommended her light therapy program to reduce migraines and stress. I started that treatment at home right away and it has given me a breakthrough. Dr. Lisa Weiss is an eye doctor I trust! She is knowledgeable and dedicated, exceptional among her peers. Since she is a neuro-optometrist, I think she is the best choice for anyone with headaches or dizziness related to vision. Dr. Christensen did an InfantSee exam for my 10.5 month old daughter. InfantSee is a program that provides free eye exams to infants 6 to 12 months of age. Not many eye doctor offices seem to participate but you can go to the InfantSee website to find those generous doctors who do. Making an eye appointment was very easy. I went to Dr. Christensen for myself to scope out the place. I did that online; super easy. For my daughter, we were in the office and had no issues getting a time on the calendar. A few weeks later I had to change the date due to a conflict on my end, and the receptionist cheerfully changed it via phone. At the end of my daughter's visit, I scheduled one for my son and it was no issue to get in the calendar. Parking was free and easy. The eye exam for my daughter was done with significant care and patience. The doctor was prepared with toys to use as tools to check out my girl's vision. Dr. Christensen explained everything that she was doing and why, and provided us with an assessment along the way. My mother has a lazy eye, so I was particularly concerned about that. At a couple of points, my daughter wasn't cooperating very well. Dr. Christensen was very patient and tried different approaches till she got what she needed to make a proper assessment. I really appreciated that because I know some doctors would give up and just not capture that information. Every single staff member was very cheerful, personable, and a delight to interact with. And they were on-time; we weren't waiting around much, which is critical with the kiddos. During our short wait, they offered us bottled water; what hospitality! I worked in the eye care industry for 8 years frequently interviewing eye doctors and patients. From my personal experiences and the benchmark that I formulated from my work experience, Dr. Christensen and her staff are top notch. read more

I travel all the way from LA to see Dr. Christensen. She is amazing and so trustworthy. After many unfortunate experiences with other eye doctors, I went to Dr. Christensen and will never go to anyone else. Her office staff is beyond helpful. They ship my glasses to me without hesitation (since I live 2 hours away), always help me find frames that fit my budget, and are professional in every way. I trust Dr. Christensen and know she is always honest with me. Last time I came in, she let me know that my prescription had only changed a bit, so technically I didn't need glasses, but my insurance covered them in full and I wanted a second pair, so I went for it. I have loss of all central vision in one eye and had surgical repair to recover the loss of central vision in my other eye, so I need to know that my optometrist has the technology and skills to ensure I stay on top of my vision. I really don't know how she has gotten high marks from so many people. At my first visit for my child, she was an hour late without any apology. Then kept yelling at my child who just couldn't sit still anymore. Dr kept yelling which was upsetting so I told her she needed to be more patient since we were patient when she was behind schedule by an hour. She continued to be critical and rude. Then the staff kept trying to sell me frames we did not like. Dr Christensen then said she wanted us to come back in two weeks since we weren't getting frames and prescription done there so she could make sure the glasses were done right. I have one of the best insurance's available, and at the end of the visit was totally surprised to see unexpected charges on my bill and unnecessary followup appointments needed. This was not disclosed to me and have discovered that it costs me more money to use this optometrist with my insurance, than it cost me to use other optometrists before I had insurance. What an opportunist. My daughter has profound vision problems and I was referred to Christensen as a possible source of help, I took her in and explained in graphic detail what was wrong. Christensen said lets fit her with glasses first and then address the other issues. After she billed us several hundred dollars she told me she didn't have a clue about the problems I brought my daughter in for. In addition she didn't need glasses and has never used them. All she did was take the opportunity to charge for a prescription and sell a pair of glasses. How unethical can you get! Dishonest??? I think so. read more
