We had great service and there was a delightful menu to choose from, including a red sauce on my spinach enchiladas, which is really really hard to find these days for some reason. Came in tonight (Saturday night) & there was about a 20 min or more wait. The staff was very apologetic and checked in on us periodically. The woman behind the counter actively racially profiled my friend as we were simply trying to grab our food. There were two similar-looking bags for pickup, so my friend did what anyone would do -- checked the labels to make sure we got the right one. Before we could even explain, the employee snatched the bags out of her hands and told her she "couldn't read or look at the bag because people take things." Excuse me? We were literally picking up the order we paid for. It was incredibly disrespectful, and the way she singled my friend out in front of everyone was flat-out humiliating. The entire restaurant turned to look as if my friend had done something wrong when she absolutely hadn't. There's no excuse for treating customers this way. Its smaller than the upper east side one and I felt like it was much louder and rowdier but I still enjoyed my time. I tried different tacos this time and the food was really good. Our waiter seemed ot be manning many tables so he was not as attentive but he did have a lot to manage and I still appreciated the service very much. I dont think I would go back to this location per se but I can say the food quality is consistent and the vibes here may be really good for someone else. Came here for happy which runs from 4-7. It wasn't too hard to find spots at the bar around 5 PM. The large margaritas are still big and tasty. Also tried the chicken pozole this time which was flavorful and came with a bunch of toppings to add on top such as cilantro, onion, lime, and jalapeño. The chicken was a bit hard to eat since it was still on the bone but it was tender and pulled away easily. The bartender was really nice. My wife and I visited Rancho Tequilería tonight for dinner after seeing it was close to our hotel. She ordered the Traditional Mole de Puebla while I got the Enchiladas Enmoladas (without avocado). They were absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. Savory, slightly sweet from the mole sauce, and just enough spice to warm you up on a cold night. Great lunch experience at this delicious Mexican spot with an extensive bar. So happy this place is still kicking, in a sea of boarded-up storefronts. The waitress was EXTREMELY kind to our child, which I very much appreciated. On to lunch: $11 gets you a entree with a soup OR salad. Pete and I both chose the soup (tortilla soup). It didn't have chicken in it, but we liked it. Another table got salad and it looked like a delicious, generous portion. Pete chose the chicken burrito and I got the carnitas (pork) tacos. The tacos were amazing. They came with rice and beans. I asked for hot sauce and they made it sound like they had to ring it in and there would be a charge. I thought that was kind of odd then ultimately, they did not bring it so I can't tell you if it's good. We also ordered a side of fried plantains as an appetizer. The restaurant tends to get really busy during the evening hours since it's located near the Broadway theaters, but not crazy to the point where you're not enjoying yourself and your company. The restaurant is sizable for a large party, but make sure you call ahead if that's what you plan on doing. The drinks are well made, and the food is of quality. Not a fan of the vegetarian tacos -- 4 tacos but the veggie proportions were not good, and it sucks that you can't mix-and-match (although there was only one vegetarian taco option). The veggie burrito (not on the presented dinner menu) was pretty good, but similar to the taco also had poor veggie proportions (too much corn, too little other veggies). Went to the Hell's Kitchen location last night with my two friends to grab dinner and drinks before a Broadway show.We didn't have enough time before the show to stay for dessert unfortunately however the food, drinks and service were fantastic. Our waiter was Uri/Uriel was super friendly and attentive and Slyvia the hostess was also friendly and very accomodating. We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back! The place has a lowkey fun vibe which I tend to appreciate. Two of us ordered the Azteca Burrito and the other the shrimp fajitas. From the perfectly timed service to the excellent food. This was a treat. Started with a raspberry mojito in a huge glass. Tasty and delicious. My dinning partner had the spicy pineapple margarita made with mezcal. Perfecto. Then we tried the queso fondue. Wonderful with warm tortillas to hold the perfectly spiced queso. A great appetizer.
