I've been ordering from Parada 47 for years but never got to write a review. Parada makes some of my favorite burritos I've had in the city and is an absolute gem! They have nice friendly service, authentic food, and it's a cozy place for a nice casual eat. I crave it constantly~ If you're ever in the neighborhood definitely check it out!! It was your typical breakfast burrito that satisfied a morning Saturday craving. I wouldn't say this is the best burrito I have ever had but it's not the worst either. It lays in between. i unfortunately did not enjoy this place i saw the reviews of it as a hole in the wall type place with delicious, authentic food, and was really hyped up about trying it. unfortunately i really didn't like the food. i ordered the veggie fajitas and my mom got the grilled tofu burrito. the burrito was certainly filling but not very appetizing, and we only really finished it because we were starving. the fajita veggies were really unappetizing, and some veggies didn't even taste fully cooked. all were bland without any of the classic fajita seasoning i was expecting. maybe their meat dishes are better, but then why offer such an expansive vegetarian menu? overall, i was very disappointed. :( read more

Decided to order some takeout from here as I was craving for some hole in the wall enchiladas. Well, for one, I definitely got my fix! The enchiladas - queso with verde sauce - itself were great and spicy. Enjoyed the kick to them. I got beans and rice on the side. Wasn't too crazy about it (only reason for a minus star) as it was a bit too bland. However, I needed something to counteract the spice, so I lived with it. Also, the portion itself was big enough to do the job. At around $12-13, it's a bit pricey, but I think COVID's the cause for that. I opted for delivery via seamless because I didn't want to walk up 12 blocks one-way to pickup. So it was more expensive that way obviously. But if you're in the area, it's worth the try. read more

I am originally from Southern California where authentic and delicious Mexican food are everywhere. Parada 47 is the closest in flavor, quality, and portions to the restaurants I love back home, and honestly the competition in this area is not even close. I ordered the super nachos with chicken, chicken enchiladas with green sauce, and two tamales (cheese and chicken). The nachos and enchiladas were amazing, full of flavor, hefty portions, and reasonably priced. They are by far the best enchiladas and smothered nachos I've had locally. The tamales were okay, much better than I expected. Let's be honest though - the places that have the best tamales usually specialize in tamales and you would know that they do. This place isn't it, but, their tamales will satisfy a craving if you have one. If the tamale is too dry for you, put a little bit of Mayo on the side. You're welcome. The cashier was really nice---you could tell he cared about getting your order correctly. The restaurant is very much a hole in the wall so I didn't eat in and took my food to go. As I spoked with the manager a couple of times, (nice guy), they only have one person cooking in the kitchen and sometimes the manager hells cooks but on a rare occasions. This place absolutely kills it with authentic taqueria stuff, tamales, and amazing tortas that are legit AF. Not only that, they do an exceptional "Chile de árbol" red salsa that is essential to any decent Mexican place despite being absent from many NYC taquerias. They also have a lot of other fun things on their menu, Burgers, Tostadas, and California burritos with french fries in them (someone must have been to Baja or Southern California at some point, because you won't find that anywhere else). Wanted a small, quick snack for take out on a Wednesday night. This is the new and improved version of Guelaguetza that was here for a bit then got remodeled. Originally wanted the Carnitas Gordita, but they were out of the broiled pork. Settled with the Chorizo Gordita instead ($3.50). Got the food within ten minutes and was out the door. Opening the container, the meal resembles more of a sandwiched tostada then an enclosed gordita. The filling is loosely packed which made every bite leak ingredients. The chorizo is thick cut and flavorful. The ingredients surrounding it are okay, so added the hot sauce given to provide more of a kick. For the amount of money I paid, the meal is fine. That said, Parada 47 is straight up Mexican, no frills, the quality of the food is consistent and it's darn good. They aren't trying to cater to non-Latinos by altering the way they make their food. I'll say that on any given day if I'm looking for a hangover cure which is how I found this place, I order the pozole which comes with 3 taquitos or flautas which at first was a nice surprise because it was an unexpected add on to my order. Back and better than ever! After being closed for almost a year Parada (née Guelaguetza) re-opened sans deli counter and with a number of tables so you can eat-in. Not sure why they renamed the place, but from what I can tell, the food is the same as before (and by that I mean absolutely delicious). The steak torta and guacamole are my personal favorites, though I've yet to go wrong with anything I've ordered here. Prices are dirt cheap and I've never had to wait more than 10 mins for my food.
