My coworkers and I were looking for a lunch spot after attending a trade show at the Javits Center and stumbled across The Yard's Pub a few blocks away. We asked if we could have the stool window seats that face the sidewalk. The windows were open and we had a nice view of the busy street outside. I ordered a buffalo chicken salad ($20) and a glass of Pinot Grigio off the happy hour menu ($10). I was pleasantly surprised to see that their happy hour begins at 12pm and goes all the way until 8pm! The salad was a generous size and filled me up. Arrived to watch an out of state championship hockey game. Sat at the bar with my wife. It was 9pm. One tv in the place with 9 TVs has this game on. It took about 5 minutes to get the bartender to acknowledge us. And then we get drinks. I then ask for the game to be put on the tv above us and receive attitude for asking. We then sit for 20 minutes, never being checked on or offered a dinner menu, never changed or put the game on. Granted the bar is small and the bartender was the only one behind the bar, but the bartender was not full as there were empty bar stools and booths. We then ask for a check. It takes another 10 minutes for the bartender to ask again what we had. We left. Rude, slow, non accommodating. read more

I had an awesome smash patty cheeseburger at The Yard's Pub and loved the food and the restaurant. It came with great fries too. My nephew ordered the French Onion Soup and it was cheesy and delicious too he said. Nice restaurant inside and out and friendly service. I'd go back if I stay in that part of New York City and try something else. read more

Not only is the staff incredible but the ambiance is awesome! We decided to stop here for a short happy hour before getting dinner and I'm so glad we stumbled across this place! They have really awesome happy hour deals from $6 shots to $8 mixed drinks, and they have some really awesome options off happy hour as well! I got myself a mojito and it was perfect for a hot day in new york city! It was just made so nicely. My boyfriend got a version of their long island and was satisfied for how strong it was for the price I highly recommend this spot if you're looking to get drinks or even share a meal (their menu looks so good!) read more

Was looking for a classic pub/tavern and this was the highest rated one in the area near the Javits Center. The service was okay, as waitress misunderstood a lot...lots of repeating but did get the orders right. Maybe it was hard to hear because music was a bit loud. We ordered a variety of different types of food. Nachos were good but had a surprising kick from red jalapeños. French onion soup was delicious! Sliders were good but a bit elevated with no cheese or if so very little. Shepard pie was a classic that hit the spot on a cold windy night. Buffalo Chicken Pizza was by far the worst with chicken that did not taste anything like buffalo and more of a curry style chicken. This place seems to be an elevated pub/tavern and the prices, atmosphere, and dishes reflect that. Can't say I'd come back! Only recommend sticking with the good classics for consistent and traditional flavors. read more

Guinness was an 8.3/10. Great pour, great taste. They have sweet potato fries which was a bonus since I didn't see it on the menu but was pleasantly surprised when I asked and they had them! Will come back again for more Guinness and to try the shepherds pie. read more

We went on a Monday evening. We got the crispy truffle Mac and cheese bites and the fried pickle chips for appetizers. The truffle bites were nice and crispy on the outside and full of gooey Mac and cheese. They had a great flavor. The fried pickles were packed with pickle flavor and their avocado ranch was amazing! For entrees we got the Yards smash burger - this did not need any alterations to the burger. It was so delicious and flavorful! The fries were crispy enough but not over done. My husband got the buffalo chicken wrap. This was a lighter wrap and not as heavy as a normal buffalo chicken wrap. It had the buffalo flavor but also you tasted the veggies and was not over powering. Our friends got the Yards Irish spice chicken box with fries and the fried chicken sandwich (both not pictured) the fried sand which was huge and our friend said it was very delicious. The spice chicken box had a curry undertone. Was very good, also not overpowering. We got the tiramisu and apple crumble with custard. The tiramisu was amazing. The Apple crumble was a little bland but did not taste bad. read more

Had an awesome time at The Yards during our trip to New York. The atmosphere was exactly what you want from a great neighborhood pub--lively, welcoming, and easy to settle into. Huge shoutout to the bartender, Sean. He went above and beyond and honestly made our trip to New York memorable. Super friendly, great energy, and clearly takes pride in making sure everyone has a good time. From great conversation to perfectly made drinks, he set the tone for the night and made us feel like regulars even though we were just visiting. This spot was amazing. In town for a Niners game and decided to stop by this place to watch the other games.. and that wasn't the highlight. The food was AMAZING. I got some Buffalo wings, a southern chicken sandwich, and a nice apple and cream dessert. On top of that, the service was awesome. Everyone was so polite. The food here was delicious. Great atmosphere and the service was exceptional. Fish and chips were excellent. It could only be made better if they had mushy peas instead of the peas that are served.
