We worked with Jim Mayo, who put our minds and hearts at ease immediately. Everything about the process was handled with kindness and care. At the funeral Mass at St. Jude the Apostle in Wauwatosa, Jim and Bob orchestrated everything with the utmost professionalism. Their other crew were helpful as well, although I was in too much of a fog to get the names (sorry!). I am incredibly grateful to all who made this difficult time easeful and stress free.

With the COVID restrictions, I did not want to postpone the funeral to a later date memorial service. My son was 19 years old, Down Syndrome and Autistic. We were told at Heritage we could have up to 50 people in the building at a time and that was ok with us. When meeting with Sarah, our funeral director, she asked what types of things Ryan liked... We told her that he was always happy, and a huge Spongebob fan, that was all he was interested in...So, we said told her we would like his funeral to represent him, keep it light. Sarah said not to worry she had a few things in mind. Sarah decorated in the Spongebob theme. It made the day easier as we could smile remembering his love of Spongebob. She had balloons, amazing decorations to represent my son. We are so grateful to Sarah, she did such a fantastic job at representing who my son really was. Everyone who attended commented on how nice the funeral home represented Ryan. I cannot say enough about how grateful we are to Sarah. She was certainly amazing.

We held our Celebration of Life and the attention to detail and service was superb. Mom received a great celebration with pictures, music, video, and the warmth and love of all who attended. The staff was brilliant. We wish to sincerely thank Church and Chapel and Megan and the wonderful staff for making our celebration service such a warm and loving event that we are proud of.

Our 92 year old loved one was under hospice care and passed away at home on June 15, 2018. By July 2nd I had not heard from C, C & Z and called them to inquire if the remains were ready for pickup. I was told the cremation had not taken place, they were awaiting a Dr's signature. The thought of our loved one having been somewhere in "storage" for 3 weeks was heartbreaking. After more calls and more vague explanations I reached C, C & Z on July 11th. The staff said she "was about" to call me that the remains were ready for pick up. The information with the remains indicated the cremation took place on July 4th. C, C & Z provided services for us in 2015 and we were very satisfied which is why we chose them again in June of this year. I don't know what changes they have made in the past 3 years, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

When the visitation resulted in many more attendees than anyone anticipated, they discretely handled it by calling in more staff - so smoothly we didn't even know there was a concern. Marquita in particular was wonderful to work with and we felt she truly cared about us during and even after the process. We are very thankful for the recommendation from our pastor to use this funeral home and would highly recommend it to others.

Walking into a funeral home for this type of information is already incredibly emotional and overwhelming, and unfortunately, our experience here made it even harder. We came in simply looking for guidance and information because we did not know where to start. Despite there being no services taking place at the time, we were not greeted in a warm or professional manner. We were left standing while staff gave us scattered bits and pieces of information rather than sitting down with us for a thoughtful or professional conversation. A blood drive was taking place that day that no one was attending so, basic compassion and professionalism should have been shown. We were not offered a seat until I specifically asked, and even then only one seat was offered for the two of us. No one clearly explained the process for making arrangements or scheduling an appointment. We were handed a pamphlet, but the overall interaction felt rushed, impersonal, and lacking empathy. This is a business that works with families during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Compassion, professionalism, and simple courtesy matter greatly. Sadly, we did not feel supported or cared for during our visit. Honestly, it really would not matter what price they would come in at, as I do not foresee ever recommending this establishment.
