Next, to my surprise, prior to my move in the complex did something in the unit that caused a very strong toxic smell -,cleaning products, insecticide, bathtub reglaze? This caused a severe asthmatic reaction! Allergist advised to get out of the apartment due to environmental concerns. I notified management that I needed to break the lease due to the toxic chemicals. Apartment management did not care and sent an email stating a 2 month penalty to break the lease was required. Never moved in based on the severe asthmatic reaction. Based on my experience, with the unresponsive management team and the toxic chemicals in the apartment I recommend avoiding this apartment building and any Windsor communities if you value your health. There are many other apartments in nearby that are in the same price range that have responsive management and no strong toxic smells.

Street parking is abundant around the building as the area is note residential. Yes, the apartments are a bit on the smaller side, but the rents are really low for the area and increase only marginally from year to year. But above all, management is excellent! They respond to each maintenance request right away, and fix everything within a day, no questions asked! All told, living at 2000 Conn was an awesome experience that would recommend to everyone!

Unfortunately, the persistent issues this building has will take away your peace of mind. Rats and insects will be a routine problem in this apartment. I knew pest control on a first-name basis after so many visits. The heating did not work in my apartment for the first two years in this building. You will smell marijuana in the hallways. The elevators in a building with 17 floors will break down all the time. Last-minute notices where the trash room is made unavailable. Far too many instances where the building does not have hot water. The AC system will break down for weeks every summer. A fire broke out a few years ago that eliminated the ability to use the laundry rooms for all residents for months. A recent pipe burst eliminated any access to water. A current pipe project in the building will restrict water access for tenants for eight hours at least once or twice a week. Management will not credit or discount your rent in any of these situations. If you are considering a career in the military or the foreign service, be sure to add a military or diplomatic clause into the lease. The Civil Service Relief Act and the Foreign Service Families Act will give you the right to cancel a lease once you have military or diplomatic orders. In my own experience, the leasing office will complicate your efforts in exercising the benefits of this law. No follow-up comment is needed, no need for a request to meet, nor an apology is needed; management should leverage that time to do a better job.

It's been almost a year living here and it's been just ok, it is a great location, a safe area, and fun for a 24 year old that is new to the area but I believe that the price is way to high for what the building offers, no pool and the rooftop is great but the TV are not functional. If the apartment was empathetic to the residents who have resigned year to year, I'd have no questions resigning at Latitude but the rates went up so much that they've given me no other options but to explore the area!

Now, rather than being isolated to the bathroom, it's spreading all over my home in all vents making it impossible to live normally. The service team can never find a solution and does not communicate clearly what next steps are. Our AC was down all summer and we have been dealing with this smell for over 6 months. After over 5 home visits to identify the cause of the smell, now they are saying something is trapped in the vents blocking the flow but they can't even check because they can't access the roof. I don't know how long they expect us to live like this. We truly regret renewing our lease here for another 12 months. It's to the point where opening the windows and balcony can't even get the smell out. i'm already mentally prepping for them to not have an answer tmw when they are supposed to check or to be given some long wait time to make the fix. We are beyond frustrated.

Their is a gas station right in the front of the complex, close to dc and a good amount of stores nearby. Some kids were urinating in the building and packages were being stolen at a point in time. Pepco is who you pay electricity to and you receive a Conservice bill for water & gas which you pay with your rent. The neighbors make living here irritating because of lack of consideration and respect. Knowing that my neighbors are harassing on purpose I decided it's only fair to share the experience for future residents. There are washers and dryers which are stacked. The bigger bedroom does not get proper air circulation. There are lots of bugs (spiders, grasshoppers, other unknown bugs). You have 2 ways to go to the bedrooms. The bedroom closets are pocket doors which you can hear your neighbors slamming. The tub was not glazed but painted upon moving in so everything was stuck to the paint. Master bedroom floor had major dips in the floor and dressers were leaning (if you have a child/children or a pet please be careful so nothing falls on them). The floors creaked really bad (which means hollow floors and no insulation). There is no insulation within the units so if you will be able to hear your neighbors above and below you. People w/ kids who live above you- you will hear them running and more all day even the adults stomp and bang hard as ever. If you have decent neighbors appreciate them because some neighbors believe they are entitled to be as loud as they would like. (Some neighbors are crazy so I take photos & videos for my protection). As of currently since moving in we have experienced neighbors above us who during the touring process could be heard following us through the apartment. With thin flooring the upstairs neighbors heard us speaking and followed us in each room while touring from inside their unit. Those same upstairs neighbors who live in the unit number 9 has been nothing but disrespectful since. A common thing we've experienced is anytime they hear us communicating whether by phone or in person you would hear their heavy hard stomps/feet follow us around and when we reported their noise, they retaliated with even louder noise. At a point they would sit in their car knowing what time we would leave and watch us as we came and went. If they hear you cough, sneeze or talk to loud they will follow wherever you are and stand and listen. They'll follow around just because and I swear on it. My alarm system was deactivated one morning and once they heard that they came running to watch you and then they took their trash out. Just so they can see you. They are retaliatory and if you bang because of their noise they will stomp through the entire apartment. Now the downstairs neighbors in apartment 1 stomp which surprisingly you can hear them underneath you. They came and stopped us as we moved in to say oh you're quiet unlike those neighbors before you just to see how we would respond. After time they began being so loud we could hear them underneath us. One of the women here doesn't work either so they as well will follow you around and then listen to you as you use the bathroom. They, after me giving them the same energy have been nothing but rude and began mean mugging so for that reason I needed to snap their pictures as well. One night they were fighting and you could hear it as if it was in your unit. Again people should know what type neighbors they have living around them. You will be surprised that some of your neighbors are weird and may be retaliatory so it's best to be cautious. As of currently my neighbors and I are in dislike of one another because they want to bang and stomp while I believe there should be some consideration for having neighbors around you.

In order to get a good night sleep the unit above either must be vacant or you need to rent a third floor unit- great luck on them knee because the steps are steep and not to mention rusted, deteriorated and steep as hell. Run don't walk or you might regret it... This is not where you want to call your home.
