It seems like they want you to keep coming back to get what should have been down the first time. I should have know better. There does not seem like there are any doctors out there anymore. Most are scared to give certain prescriptions but that is why they are there. Not at all like who I went to who retired and the one before him and before him etc. They were real doctors unlike what you have now. Unfortunately I developed an ear infection and bronchitis and fortunately I found Dr. Kinney and Metro Direct Care Medical. I was feeling too sick to try to sit in an ER and the house call from him saved the day and the entire trip. He took a careful medical history, and spent the time to listen as well as inform us of the diagnosis and the options. He prescribed the ear drops and medication that ensured I felt better within a few hours so that I was able to be present for our daughter and heal. He also helped us come up with the right decision not to fly until a few days later than planned to help heal the ear and bronchitis. I wish there was a doctor like him in the Bay Area!

I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room before being called back & she's very thorough in her exam (she doesn't try to rush you in & out like some medical cattle call). I was so pleasantly surprised by the fact that SHE actually returned my phone call, not a nurse or assistant - Dr. DiFresco herself (and she got back to me in 10 minutes!). No other physician has ever called me back themselves, let alone within minutes of calling. She's originally from the same neighborhood in Brooklyn that I'm from, so between her sweet, calming nature & her Brooklyn accent, I felt like I was right back home with my mom taking care of me again. I can't say enough positive things about Dr. DiFresco & I'm so grateful that I found her (for those interested, this is an all female practice).

At the onset of my appointment I told Dr. Porter the condition I believed I was suffering from (common condition, recognizable symptoms, have suffered from previously) and that I was looking to get medication for it (not a controlled substance or anything that could be recreationally abused). Dr. Porter immediately became extremely aggressive and argumentative, telling me "that's not how a doctor's office works" and "you don't just come in making demands." This combative response was extremely confusing and distressing. I went on to try to describe the symptoms I was experiencing, at which point Dr. Porter became angry, raising his voice, and told me "that's not what you said at the beginning of the appointment." I terminated the appointment and immediately met with another provider who was able to treat me. I was very surprised to see that Dr. Porter has any positive reviews. Unfortunately, Dr. Porter seemed more interested in belittling and berating me than treating my medical condition.

Another time it was an unnecessary wait and hassle just to pick something up from the lab. Honestly, if you anticipate needing lab work on a weekend, you may want to consider another location unless you're out of choices. I'm not sure what's going on as neither of us has ever waited more than a few minutes for the lab at any other location. I shudder to think what it would be like if you had to wait an hour with your sick child. With that caveat, if you don't need lab work on a weekend, I wouldn't hesitate to go to this OneMedical location and expect their usual high quality of service and care.

In general, I like the integration of the app & telehealth with the office and the idea of a more personalized focus on primary care that One Medical provides. Specifically, I like this location where the staff are all very nice and welcoming. It seems like the staff really care about improving health and "taking care" of you. I tried out the Chevy Chase location last year and had a bad experience with a shockingly rude doctor that surprised me. If I went into detail about what happened there, you would be appalled. I've been to the Bethesda location a lot and they have been great every time. If I had only experienced the Chevy Chase location, I would have quit this program but I've been consistently happy with Bethesda. I haven't tried other locations but the model is that they are a different experience than your average primary care medical office. They are very prompt, stylish and offer the choice between in-person services and telehealth. Prior to One Medical, I had a less than stellar experience with a primary care doctor in a different system. When I say that I've been consistently happy with this Bethesda office, I don't say that lightly. It is pleasant and convenient.

I went to Greenbrook for TMS treatment for severe depression and anxiety earlier this year. The…read moreintake process was fine. But every subsequent step was a disaster. The TMS treatment did nothing. I actually felt worse by the time it was over. And the way Greenbrook does billing is annoying. The front desk, at least in Kensington, doesn't collect copays at the time of treatment (and of course I forgot to ask). So once I was finished with all the treatments and still miserable I got a bill from TMS for over $500. It was a bitter pill to swallow. Since I was so desperate and had tried everything else, I agreed to try Spravato at Greenbrook, despite the failure of TMS. The level of incompetence and indifference I witnessed during intake was amazing. No one seemed to know who I should speak with or even how to book the appointment. At least one consultation was cancelled because they set me up to speak with the wrong doctor. They also seemed thrown off by the fact that the facility where I was going to be treated, Cabin John, was new. Apparently Greenbrook lacks the institutional bandwidth to schedule appointments at new locations. Anyway, after several false starts I managed to meet virtually with the right doctor. After showing up 20 minutes late, he told me it was just a matter of submitting the claim to insurance for pre-approval to get started. That was only to take two weeks. But after three weeks I heard nothing. I called Greenbrook several times begging them to follow up with the insurance company so I can get started. The voicemail I left at Cabin John was not returned. I managed to get a hold of someone in the Rockville office, who assured me that someone would call me back ASAP. They never did. If you're suffering from depression and anxiety, go somewhere else. If my experience is any guide, Greenbrook either cannot or will not help you. They will probably make it worse.
