We were very impressed with the selection, guidance, and customer service as well as the follow up service we received from the employees of Randy's Flooring. A big shout out to Tim (in the showroom) and Rick (here at the house)--both stellar at what they do. There was a slight problem with one of the floors we chose for our new home--we didn't even notice--but Rick pointed it out (after 3/5th of it had been laid) and said he wasn't happy with the product. We picked new flooring and it did not delay the project. What amazing integrity. Thank you! What a painless (ha, kind of) experience with Randy's Flooring! I DESPISE carpet. All caps. Underlined. Bold. In red, even. Carpet is disgusting. Alas, we moved into a house with carpet throughout. Not only carpet, but at the time, new carpet. So I was stuck with it. (Because why would we possibly tear up something that was brand new?! Or so I was told.) Fast forward nearly eight years and the carpet had finally grossed out even my partner. (Two kids under 10-- one of which is a boy-- three dogs, and a pandemic of home workouts will do that.) Huzzah, new flooring! We had Brian with Randy's Flooring come to the house and get all the measurements. We decided to try to salvage the only non-carpet flooring in the house (original oak) and just match that throughout. Pricing was expensive, but on point. Jake came and worked his butt off, let me tell you. He painstakingly took off floorboards (and meticulously labeled them), ripped up carpet, cleaned subfloor, laid new wood to match pre-existing wood and then sanded down the old wood. He then stained it, reinstalled the floorboards and doors and answered all of our ten million questions. Additionally, he went above and beyond in that he knew we had a Great Dane (Marvin) that could wreak havoc on our floors-- so he got extra heavy duty hardening product to ensure his nails didn't do damage. What a process. I went nearly three weeks without my pups, a stove, refrigerator or washer and dryer. It was quite an experience. (Thank goodness for my air fryer.) I'm insanely happy with the product, the people and overall experience. (Though, in 20 years-- when this floor needs updating. I'm just moving.) Home renovations are not for the faint of heart. Randy's Flooring makes it bearable and the end product is marvelous. read more

The people at the store were very nice. Their installers don't know their job. They said the subfloor was fine and it was soft after the toilet was removed. So the toilet leaked and when I had another plumber come to put another new seal when he took the toilet off he showed me where the floor was soft. So I spent $1,000 on a brand new vinyl floor and now 2 months later have to spend that amount AGAIN for ANOTHER totally new floor and have a section of subfloor replaced. When I called them and told them they said I would just have to buy a new floor! I will Never use them again. First and Last time! read more

It might just be cheep carpet $5 sq ft, but sure can see all the seams. Installer goofed and cost me an extra $300 for 2 stair treads.

I ordered 7 boxes of LVP on 06/01. Later that same day, before the store had even closed, I sent an email stating that I had over estimated my floor space and needed to reduce the order to 5 boxes. When I didn't get a response after a couple days, I called them just to make sure they got my email. As it turned out, my email had gone into their spam folder (even though it was a direct reply to an email they had already sent me). By the time I called to check on it, the order was already in transit to their warehouse. Since the order had already gone out, the manager said I'd need to pay a restocking fee of $132.88 in order to return the two extra boxes. The total cost of these two boxes was $219.18. Thats a 60% restocking fee! Since my email had been sent before the order shipped, I should have been able to modify the order without a restocking fee. Yet the company takes no responsibility for the fact that my email went into their spam folder, and now the manager isn't even returning my emails. It might be worth giving Randy's Flooring a try, since they do have many 5 star reviews. Just keep in mind if something goes wrong along the way, this company is going to make YOU pay for it, even if the issue was on their end. read more

Hired Randy's to do the floors in our newly built house. Work progressed slowly, bits and pieces done here and there, days would go by without Randy's showing up. Communication was awful, typically got a text the day of when there was an issue. The tile job is very poorly done. The installer tried to cheat and grout all the wall and floor joints instead of caulking them. After a week they began to crack and I had them come out to repair the joints and fill with caulk. They did not do that properly either, installer just wiped a thin layer of caulk over the grout instead of removing the grout and filling the joints up with caulk like you should. They were supposed to come out a third time and fix these issues but have yet to show! Go elsewhere, they do not care about customer service here and only want to move on to the next job. read more

Randy's has a very nice selection of materials, and there's no reason not to shop for them there. I'm sure you can buy cheaper online, but don't be a jerk about that; if you decide on your materials in-store, buy them locally. Their operations are another story. My flooring...saga was bad enough that I won't go to them again, even though they did make good at the end when I refused to pay most of the cost of the labor on part of my flooring install. The sales and design staff are doing their best. I think the problem is in how Randy's running things. In a way, I get what he's trying to do. He's pure "skills gap", he sees it's hard to find labor at the wages he's offering, he sees young people aren't going into these trades, and he's encouraging whoever he can find, trying to get them trained and involved. The problem -- and after talking to friends, I find that the problem wasn't a one-off with my job, but a pretty common experience with Randy's -- the problem is that these people are not by and large well-trained, and they'll show up, do a terrible job, and leave people stuck fighting to get it fixed. That's part of the problem, anyway. The other part is that in his zeal to build a corps of guys -- and yes, they appear to be guy after guy after guy, I saw one woman in the whole parade and she was a subcontractor's wife -- he winds up doing things no retailer or contractor should be doing. I had a guy melting down in my kitchen because he couldn't figure out how to do part of the job, which had been poorly communicated by sales staff in the first place. The rest of the day went so poorly that I went online to find out if he got sued very often, and found that he'd had a domestic violence conviction not very long before. And there he was in my house shouting at me. And I was supposed to be paying him. The answer to all that was no. Randy's response was to defend this guy's reputation to me. I'm not joking. I went in there to make it clear how things were going to go, and next thing I know, there's Randy telling me about what a great guy this dude is and trying to whitewash the event. I'm there with my hands up telling him I don't want to hear about this guy's life, and he keeps rolling right on, he's so anxious to defend the man's reputation above all else. I get the impulse to give people a second chance. That's fine. What's not fine is foisting people with serious problems on your customers, especially in their own homes. You have to ASK. ASK PERMISSION. And say, "We have this guy, we really believe in him, he's had these problems, would it be all right if we assigned him the job." Some will say yes. But you also have to take no for an answer if the answer is no. I'm not even going to go into the design debacle that happened after that. Enough to say that I wound up, at Randy's direction, unwittingly keeping a new mom late at work wrestling with wholly inadequate design software when (a) this lady needed to go home and be with her baby, rather than pay for other staff's earlier incompetence; and (b) Randy, spend the $75 for the actual design software your staff needs. And I could talk about the ridiculously long time it took just to place an order for materials and get installation scheduled there, because nobody seems to know what anyone else is doing, so if your salesperson for whatever reason doesn't respond (mine sometimes just slipped up, and then for part of the time he was off with a new baby himself) nobody else will pick up the ball, but I'm not going into that whole story either. Overall, the whole experience convinced me to go back to doing these jobs myself. I wouldn't install my own carpet, but I can rip out vinyl and carpet, lay tile, cut and lay snap-together wood floors. Yes, it's a huge hassle, but I don't think Randy's did my wood flooring any faster than I would have, and I had to take a whole week off work to oversee these clowns anyway. Would've been even faster if I'd brought a friend in to help. And I'd have skipped a lot of unpleasantness. The experience has also convinced me to seek out women tradespeople. I'd say that one of the biggest problems in this job, overall, from the first day I walked into the store, was the unwillingness of staff to actually listen to what I was saying and take it seriously before things got to the point of being heated. I walked in with a pretty clear idea of what I was looking for and was told I didn't want that; I made the mistake of thinking "oh, maybe he's right," and of course wasted weeks circling back to the thing I actually wanted. When I pointed out parts of the job that would be difficult and needed planning, I got there-there'd, and then of course they weren't planned for and turned into trouble. Kept on happening throughout the job, with the exception of the one wood flooring guy they sent who knew his business, though even he left a water problem I wound up managing into the wee hours. So. Caveat emptor. read more

Great selection, great customer service, and I have beautiful floors! Randy's replaced my living room carpet with hardwood, and replaced the upstairs carpet with new carpet. They took the time to make sure that everything was exactly what I wanted it to be, and when there were problems at the mill, they went above and beyond my expectations to get it right. And during the process, they were quick to respond to all my questions, and keep me updated. When it's time to update the rest of my house, I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. read more
