Wow, what a class act! My wife and I came to town in the off-season, and my wife loves to fish. We…read morecalled mighty heron, but they weren't available the next day, Kim offered a recommendation of someone who might be able to. On that factor alone, we decided to move our date to the next day when they were available. Captain Mike watched the weather forecast closely and said he would make the call the afternoon before our trip. Based on all the data and his experience, he felt it would be a good trip. We met Captain Mike and his 1st mate, Andrew at 7 AM and we headed out for Seabass. They treated my wife and I with a great deal of respect and great friendly conversations. The waves were a little closer together than forecasted. Which made for a very rough ride. We arrived at our fishing spot and drop the lines for a short bit. Mike closely monitored the radio and made the wise decision to pull the lines up and head in as the reports were that the winds and waves were coming in much sooner than predicted. We were able to see some humpback whales blowing, and even a US Coast Guard helicopter training Mission. We really enjoyed ourselves in spite of the waves and me "feeding the fish" a couple of times. When we returned to dock, Captain Mike was clearly disappointed and graciously offered to adjust our rate since we weren't out there the full time. Absolutely no doubt that we would book with them again in the future.

Got to the point the passengers were tapped out and we got to see him and the mate compete for biggest fish amongst self. Amazing experience and my 9yo just loved it. Gave Mike another shot in May 2022 for seabass and did not disappoint. Over 160 boated for the four of us and maxed out our keepers. Just a genuinely great guy and phenomenal with kids. Not sure I could go out with anyone else in the area.

I have been fishing on the Duke O' Fluke since I was 9 years old. I'm 35 this year and it continues…read moreto be as nostalgic as the first day I stepped aboard. Albeit the original captain was an old salt who did not hesitate to tell the other boaters how they messed up. Capt Dave these days carries the same passion with much more reservation and patience. (Decide for yourself if that's better or worse) Captain Dave and crew of the Duke O' Fluke remain my undoubtable choice for a fishing charter to this day. Their charisma, work ethic, and nautical knowledge will undoubtedly ensure your best chances of landing a keeper, even in a full boat. We booked an afternoon reservation today with my hopefully soon to be brother in law and their kids and everyone had a blast. I was proud to introduce my soon to be new family members to one of my favorite childhood experiences and share that with them. The Duke O' Fluke provides true lifelong memories for every fisherman at any level of experience and they are more than happy to welcome and accommodate everyone onboard. Shout out to Andrew, our deckhand today,He had his hands filled literally and metaphorically with keepers, shorts, tangled lines, snagged lines..(sorry for the three hooks we lost). Andrew was very well experienced and kept his head in the most tense and exciting moments of fishing guaranteeing a catch when it wouldn't have been possible without him. I'm sure no one else noticed but if you take a single look at a fisherman's hands they will tell you whether or not they are worth their salt. Andrew's hands are full of fresh and old scars from a career of fishing quickly and efficiently. Marked, calloused, recovering, scarred, and fresh. Also everything in between. Please remember to tip your deckhand when you visit. They deserve every dollar you give them for their incredible service.

Recommend going on Duke O'Fluke, however, want to share my experience. First mate, Michael? I think…read morewas his name, is someone not to turn your back on. He kept giggling while jiggling my son's rod. But before we get there, it's reasonably priced, the crew is knowledgeable, and the bait is plentiful. I still swear Michael was calling it Cuckbait and not Cutbait but we will get back to him. Whether you are new to fishing or an old salt this boat has what you need. On my fishing expedition we were landing flounder left and right. All who participated in the biggest fish pool were going back and forth. Michael, who I promised to get back to, was grinning from ear to ear cause we all know the pool is a ploy to drum up some money for the leadhead deckhand. Captain called "last drift" and I joke you not, a lord of the fins landed the biggest flounder I have ever seen. Michael fist pumped along with the gentlemen till he realized he wasn't in the pool and Mike got serious. He pretended like he hadn't been jiggling my son's rod all day. Long story short he wasn't happy when the dude who landed the doormat only gave him an Andrew Jackson. To clarify, nothing fresh happened, he likes to mess with the little kids. Meaning likes to pretend like they have the big one by playing with their pole from behind. This isn't coming out right. Just watch yourself around that Trout Slapper Michael.
