For beautiful Indian clothing at reasonable prices, shop at Rani Boutique. An Indian friend of mine took me shopping on Hillcroft so I could buy clothes to wear to her wedding in India. We visited many shops, but Rani Boutique was BY FAR the best. They have a beautiful selection, and the owners are very friendly and helpful. I wear XL in American clothing, and many Indian stores don't carry clothing that big. But I was able to buy practically a new wardrobe at Rani Boutique - kurtis (tunics), an anarkali, and many bangle bracelets. They also have a large selection of salwars and saris. read more

This is a wonderful store. They have a huge selection and are very kind and helpful. I went in looking for something to get married in and was completely lost. Within seconds the owner took me by the hand and explained my options to me. I picked out exactly what I wanted, and she told me it would be ready in a few days after being altered and fitted for me. We also picked out an a men's outfit for my groom which he looked stunning in. They had many colors for men and many sizes. Along with shoes and hat to match! On the exact date she promised, she called me personally to tell me my sari was ready. I went to pick it up and was happy to leave with beautiful jewelry to match perfectly, and a clutch. All very reasonably priced. There is so much beautiful jewelry there it was hard to pick, but she hand picked everything for me, she's very good at pairing and matching the bracelets to the sari! I came to this boutique at the beginning of the month while in town for a wedding. I initially wanted to get my saree tailored but after seeing all of the amazing options in store, I ended up buying a gorgeous new one for the event. Rani and her associate helped my friends and I choose the perfect pieces and fixed them up for us in record time. I received many compliments at the wedding and couldn't have been more pleased. Not a good experience at all! Went today to look at bridal lenghas... I called the day before to set the appt and she said she would call me back the same day and was very cordial. Never got a call back. Went today (I live 2 hrs away so had to coordinate with my group) and she told me nobody does their bridal in the color I requested (mostly red with purple accents) - don't believe this at all to be uncommon. She TOLD me that if I wasn't going to commit to buying from her that she wasn't going to show me any more. Too bad so sad for her. Took my business next door to Silk India - where they showed me 5 star customer service AND I bought my dream lengha at a way more affordable price than what Rani was offering. My friend and I visited over the Labor Day weekend so the store was busy. But we felt we were looked after and were treated just as special as if we were the only ones in the store. I tried on lots of different clothing and ended up buying several things. The clothing is high quality and most are hand sewn in-house after buying material in India. I must have gone into every establishment on Hillcroft looking for attire for my friend's wedding. I was having pitiful luck, as most of the places did not have a good selection of quality saree. I was quite surprised and disappointed to find this to be the case in Houston, of all places! I asked the bride if she had any suggestions and she told me her wedding planner recommends Rani Boutique. Still dubious that I would have any luck, I decided to try one last time and went to Rani. Imagine my delight when I entered and there were so many beautiful, quality sarees! Rani helped me find the perfect saree and jewelry, and she assisted my husband with his kurta. The prices were excellent and the customer service was top-notch. Rani showed me various ways to wear saree and I settled on the mermaid style, which is so glamorous and chic! I needed a sari blouse altered that was wayyy too small for me, so I took it here. They took my measurements and within three days, it was ready for pickup. It fit! If anything, it might have even been a bit too loose after the alteration, but I was just happy I could wear it! I paid $15, which seems like a good deal to me. read more

My husband and I came to get outfits for an Indian wedding. We picked out our garments on Saturday, they were able to do the alterations and we left with our garments on Sunday! We got lots of compliments, and we liked the quality of the garments. Naj was really helpful, in particular, guiding me towards selections in my size and budget. I went to Hillcroft a few weeks ago looking for bridesmaids sarees. Unfortunately, my time frame was so short that it was impossible for any sari store to be able to help. Rani Boutique was one of the stores I stopped in and although Rani was very nice, we just weren't going to be able to get sarees in time. This past weekend, a friend of mine asked me to help her look for a sari and I took her to Hillcroft. We checked one large store first thinking they'd definitely have something for her because they have a large selection of clothes to choose from, but left disappointed. I told her there were a lot of other stores we could check, so we decided to start our hunt. Rani Boutique was the next store we stopped in. Rani took us to the back and displayed many sarees. My friend didn't have a clear idea of what exactly she wanted until after being shown some of the sarees. As sari after sari was being pulled out, we thought we were out of luck again. But Rani patiently listened as we explained what type of sari and price range my friend was looking for. When we were almost ready to give up, Rani pulled out another saree and asked if this was what we were looking for. My friend's eyes lit up and she knew that was the saree for her. It was a beautiful red net saree with gold border and work. In the middle of all this, Rani even asked me if I had stopped in a few weeks ago with my mom. She said she remembered me clearly. I was surprised because I wasn't in the store for too long. By the end of it all, my friend got a beautiful sari. Rani was also able to match the price we were looking for. I was looking for a bridal lehenga. I heard people pay crazy prices (thousands) but I was hoping to get mine for less than $1k. The store is owned by a couple and they were very helpful. Even though I was clearly not Indian, they were friendly and gave me a reasonable price for a gorgeous red lehenga that would have been a lot more in Artesia in LA. Love Rani's boutique! I've been in twice now and both times I had a great experience. I will definitely be back. Rani is so helpful she did a great job giving an honest suggestion about which colors would look best on me. I never felt any pressure to purchase anything. She's so patient, answered all of my questions and made sure I felt comfortable arranging the Sari I had purchased. With this being my first Sari she suggested to have the pleats tailored so they would be permanent and she pinned it for me as well. My experience at Rani's Boutique was exceptional! I had gone to several other stores before this one but did not receive the nearly the same amount or quality of customer service like I did at Rani's. I went in looking for a specific color and style saree. Other places threw their sarees at me to look at, which is commonly my experience at most indian clothe stores. But Rani carefully opened up each saree for me. You can tell she respects her products. She told me her and her team in India design all the clothes themselves. For a while I was the only customer so Rani was able to take the time to put a few sarees on me so I can see what they would look like. She was honest in her opinions and straight up told me which ones looked didn't look good on me or which ones were too gaudy-looking for the occasion I was shopping for. I ended up purchasing a beautiful black and blue saree. I also appreciated the fact that Rani was not pushy in trying to sell it to me. She was patient as I mulled over my decision in my head to buy it or not (since it was a bit over my budget I had set for myself). After a while, I went back and decided the blouse sleeve length was too long and made me look a bit older than I wanted, and asked her if we can make it shorter. She said definitely. She also had me look at a separate blouse piece (which they sell individually) which actually matched perfectly to the saree and it had short sleeves and made me look younger! I ended up buying it. You can tell that Rani is very passionate about what she does and that is why I chose to give her my business. The selection they have is a wide variety but each item is unique hand picked from India. Overall, I had a good experience at Rani Boutique. I'm sure I'll be back again! read more
