Including my mom and sister, which killed me when I read it!!! My mom died of Covid from the negligent staff in this facility. From the very beginning of the pandemic, my mother never left this facility. A healthcare worker from outside of the facility contacted me and stated my mom had not been feeling well for days and was concerned. It was not the nursing staff that contacted me!! We called and had my mom sent to the hospital where she was diagnosed with Covid from her chest xray before her Covid test even resulted. She suffered for 11 days before she passed!!!!!! I later found out they took other residents out to vote 9 days before my mom went into the hospital. Who takes the most vulnerable population out to vote during a pandemic!!!!!!! I found this out by pictures and videos they posted on Facebook!! Some of the photos were removed after my mom's death but I took screen shots of everyone!!! I saw Employees and Residents in their facility van with no mask on! Pictures of workers with no mask on!! They also had group gatherings with pizza and games inside the facility. Staff painting residents nails with no masks on (staff and residents)!!!!!! In August 2020, I went to the facility and saw the workers inside the facility walking around with no masks and I questioned one of the nurses and she informed me "the masks make my lips hurt" !!!! Really!!!! I immediately informed the owner. Clearly, PPE guidelines were not followed or enforced. My mom past away November 21st, 2020. My aunt was a roommate with my mom at this facility. I moved my aunt out in December 2020. After my mom passed, I saw the staff in full PPE!! Why did it take my mom's death for them to start following the guidelines!!!! My aunt became Septic several times at the facility due to neglect of letting her urinary catheter back up. I wonder now if she should of even been in this facility with a urinary catheter???? In December, after my mother's death, my aunt became Septic and had to be admitted. I refused to have her transferred back to this facility!! She had lost 20lbs and had become so weak. The staff never informed me she wasn't eating. Someone other than the staff informed me. It sickens me how both of my family members suffered due to neglect in this facility. Under Florida's power of attorney laws, including section 709.2105, that document remains fully in effect and meets the execution requirements.[1][2] In October 2024, my brother placed her in Treemont on the Park ALF using a different power of attorney created in 2019 that is missing the legally required second witness signature, so it is invalid under Florida law, and simply registering it in Broward County does not fix that defect.[3][1] Before entering Treemont on the Park, my mother could walk, but there staff routinely kept her tied into a wheelchair under the excuse of "safety" instead of giving her real physical therapy, and now she can barely stand and has been left with only one tooth, which management claims is "fine."[4][5] Treemont on the Park has told me that "the family" is fine with her not walking and having no teeth, but I am her family and I absolutely am not fine with this, and I am deeply concerned about her health, comfort, and dignity. While many of the ladies who care for her are kind, the manager, Stephen Tarquino, has been consistently rude, telling me my mother would never leave unless my brother said so, yelling at me for walking her by the fence, and finally daring me to call the police if I did not like his decisions.[6][7] Despite receiving my valid, notarized power of attorney, he refuses to recognize my authority and has barred me from seeing, visiting, or speaking with my own mother, forcing me to turn to government agencies and other channels to protect her. Two meals a day are provided so I was not as concerned about the kitchen. Mom and I had dinner in their dining room and I have to say the food was very good. They have a regular menu and then an alternate menu that you can choose from daily. There are four course dinners available if you want to eat a lot. My mom will be moving in next week. The rehab facility was my worst nightmare. I swore that I would figure out my options while I had control over my future living. I believe that everyone approaching this next step in life should be exploring what's ahead and touring places now. It will give you peace of mind. From the moment we entered Tuscan Gardens and said hello to Marie at the desk, I knew this was a warm and welcoming community. Marie is there to assist anyway needed. We were then excited to meet with Andrea, the Community Relations Director who took us on a tour. She took her time and showed us around. Andrea answered all of our questions and gave us a chance to talk with residents. Some have been here for years. They were all very happy with their experiences at Tuscan Gardens. That was all we needed to know. The residents are very open and helpful. Before we completed our tour with Andrea, we signed our reservation agreement knowing we found our new home. What a relief it was to begin the process of moving in! Within a month, we were settled and living happily at Tuscan Gardens. This review is a tribute to our new life here. The social connections are very important and encouraged so Tuscan Gardens does many things so residents can be together if they wish. Floor Plans and Levels of Care: There are several floor plan options including a studio, 1 and 2 bedrooms floor plans. There are 5 levels of care. I'm a resident who is independent living while my husband receives Level 1 care. There are 5 levels of care including memory care. We are in the Chianti apartment and find it very spacious for 2 people with lots of closets and kitchen cabinets storage areas. It is bright and the floor plan is very open so we feel very comfortable in our beautiful unit. We couldn't be happier. Dining: The dining room is lovely and well appointed. I never miss a meal though nor could anyone walk away hungry because they always have 2 special entrees at each meal as well as the always "Available Menu". The best part of the dining experience is the wait staff who are very friendly and accommodating. I could tell you the names of our servers because they too are friendly and very responsive. They appear very happy to be "serving" us. It is a very relaxing time to talk with other residents and a time to enjoy the meal. Thank you Natasha for the tone and food that we enjoy. If you open up to it , and that takes a while, you gain so much physically, spiritually and mentally. Finally if your smart you find good people who become friends and support even when you leave. It gives you a good base to begin your journey of sobriety in the "real world" i am very thankful I went and am better than ever almost two months out. John P
