This was a charming shop. Unfortunately, the bakery had closed by the time that we got there, but the whole place smelled delicious! The items were obviously thoughtfully chosen and arranged and we enjoyed the variety. My husband particularly enjoyed Ray Troll's art that was prominently displayed. It was so refreshing after the many, many touristy souvenir shops that crowd Seward. I wouldn't say that it is worth a drive all the way out to Seward to visit the shop, but if you're in town, this would be a wonderful place to stop by - for gifts, unique souvenirs or quirky and fun items for yourself. If we end up back in Seward, we'll try to stop by when we can sample the bakery's fare! read more

The coffee is awesome! There are many Alaskan made gifts from all over Alaska ranging from jewelry, cooking utensils, household goods, clothing, books, awesome cards, and a lot of local Seward Artists! I like that there are new pieces in all the time! The ambiance is amazing! read more

Very cool gift shop and sometimes bakery items in the back. This little jewel of a shop has handmade artisan gifts from Alaskan Natives including jewelry, paintings, pottery etc. and the prices are reasonable. I got a pair of seal skin earrings, a tile with a hand painted Robin (my State bird) and another pair of pretty earrings, my mother got some jewelry and my brother bought a loaf of fresh baked bread that was delicious. Seward's a few minutes away from Exit Glacier ...and they have a tinnnny downtown. Ranting Raven Bakery is small and tucked in the back of the gift shop. Picked up a ham & cheese croissant & white chocolate chip cookie w/ cranberries. Croissant was okay -- looked like it had been out there for awhile, but the nice guy behind the counter did heat it up for us. The cookie was okay too - I think there was too much icing on it that it detracted from the cookie itself. Overall, it's an okay place to get away from the cold and get free wi-fi. If this place were in CA..I'd probably rate it l2 stars but there really is not much in the little town of Seward so in context, I guess ..it's3 stars compared to other eateries in AK. They also serve coffee and tea but we didn't try any. read more

This was the best little souvenir/gift shop we found in Seward. Almost all of the items for sale are from Alaskan artists and craftspeople, and the shop was very well curated with interesting things to look at and buy. read more

I love this shop! We needed coffee and during the off season in Seward there are few places that are open. This is a super quaint shop that combines great souvenirs and a small coffee spot as well. My friends that I was with each bought a few things and everything I believe was handmade by local artists. The coffee was great as well and the store owner was very friendly. read more

This was fine, and about the best bakery we found in Seward. Stopped in for a quick breakfast on the way out to the glacier. We had a turnover and a cinnamon roll. Both were fine, but we wouldn't rave about them. Really did like the local vibe of the place, though, and the gift store in front is worth checking out. read more

Cute little place. Bakery is in the back. Good coffee and snack place. Grabbed a latte and an asparagus/gouda croissant here after we rolled in to town. Tasty! The front part of the store has your standard tourist stuff for sale, including some nice handcrafted stuff, but nothing you can't find at other places in town. read more

It's a great place to go if you know which baked goods to select. The cinnamon roll was a bit dry, but the lemon shortbread cookies and ginger cookies were excellent. The savory crossants w had intersting combos beyond the usual ham and cheese. However the croissant itself was good but not excellent. read more

I overheard a couple talking at dinner the night before about how great this place was. First thing in the morning we headed into town to check this place out. OMG! The apple pastry I had was amazing! It ranks near the top of my list as favorite pastry shops. The dough was flakey, fresh, moist, and overall sinfully delicious! My friend had the coffee and thought it was great also. He ate a ham and cheese pastry and enjoyed that too. Definitely stop in here! Mmm...As a native of the Lower 48, I must say I am impressed with the goodies and treats here! The coffee is good, but the croissants are out of this world! Yum! I highly recommend the croissants (chocolate, gouda and spinach, etc). The service is also great-a smiling barista can recommend any treat to pair well with your drink. I'll be back! read more

Perhaps we came too late in the day (11am) to experience the freshness described by other Yelpers. The broccoli and cheddar quiche was microwaved and mostly egg, and the chocolate croissant was a bit dry. Latte was ok in flavor but barely had any in it for $5. Chai tea latte was not very well made. Cute place, nice server, but overall ehh-- expensive for a less than average breakfast. read more

I loved this little shop/cafe. After seeing too many RVs and strip malls, I was so happy to walk in Seward (after kayaking) and find this little gem. The place reminded me of the old bookstore Upstart Crow in Mill Valley (now closed). I found my mom a beautiful birch tree heart ornament for her Christmas tree her ... and I got a cappucino and a whole wheat chocolate cookie. Whole wheat! When I ordered the cappucino, the barrista asked me if I wanted it "dry" or "wet" -- finally! somebody who knows how to make a real cappucino unlike the Buck (Starbuck's). read more

Very friendly staff, that will always get high rankings from me. I have stopped in on two separate occasions while visiting Seward. I have two daughters ages 6 and 4, and they were both treated very kindly by everyone at the bakery/cafe. The coffee was good, service prompt, and my kids seemed to enjoy the ham and cheese croissants very much. The bathrooms are clean, and the gift shop a whole lot of fun to poke around and pick up something different for your home decor or as a gift. I highly recommend stopping through if you're in the area. I will definitely be back our next visit. read more

This place has some fabulous croissant sandwiches & desserts. I think I ate there 4 out of 7 days we spent in Seward. Very worth the visit.

Stopped by on a Sunday morning after camping nearby and I highly recommend it. Everything I ordered was wonderful. The lattes were perfect, and the baked goods (we ordered a few different scones) were delicious. The gal behind the counter heated them up for us too.
