This cafe is an absolute GEM in Seward. A super cute, well acquainted, cozy little cafe that overlooks the water and offers a simple and well executed menu. The coffee & chai was amazing. The duffins (doughnut muffins) kept bringing me back and the service was kind, attentive and hospitable. The food came out in a timely manner, the simplest menu items had little twists that made them extra delicious yet approachable and the view was perfect to start your day in the right mindset. Our family loved it and even though we went to other coffee shops we kept coming back here daily to actually scratch that coffee itch! Also attached to a cute store that serves wine & has cute trinkets. Thinking it could be the perfect marrying point for friends that need an up and a down but still want to get together. The patio area is accessible to both and the hallway connects them on the interior. Very well done. read more

Excellent spot for lunch in Seward with views of the water from the patio! After kayaking in the rain, my friends and I really wanted some soup and our guide recommended this spot for lunch. The staff here were very friendly and told us they had the best chowder. I got a bowl and I would agree. It was salmon chowder with clams, potatoes, and veggies and bread on the side. It was hearty, creamy, and exactly what I wanted. It was packed when we got here but soon after ordering a table opened up. read more

Had a delicious meal and what a beautiful little shop on Ressurection Bay! The Oakie is my fave sandwich, I've had it a couple of times, but I did pick up. This time I got to sit with my Dad and enjoy a cup of chowder, too! Some of the best chowder I've ever had. This was really great! Hopped off the train and checked out the sealife center next door. Stopped by for lunch and service was nice and quick, we just chilled outside with the gorgeous view until we could eat! They gave me my latte in a cute mug and it came out before the food did. The panini was nice and crispy, and they even subbed out sundried tomatoes for regular at my request. Boy's sandwich was... piled with lettuce. We enjoyed the experience going to this place that we decided to go back the second time. Food was so good that there is a long line every time we are there. The restroom was very clean & spacious. The view from the restaurant was stunning. We ordered avocado toast, bagel, raspberry square, latte. There were 2 breakfast items with the word "green" On the menu which were both great with egg, avocado & sprouts. My only disappointment was there was no raspberry square on our second visit. We loved Zudys! Located at the Water front park in Seward, it's housed in an historic railway station. Cute eaterie with a good assortment of sandwiches, soups, and salads. Sandwiches are definitely shareable! We didn't try the desserts but they had a good choice of cheesecakes and cakes. Order at the counter and they bring you the food at your table. For the amount of business they do, the food came out very quickly. They also have outdoor seating. read more

All food was prepared quickly and expertly, served hot and bursting with flavor. Price-wise, Zudy's is on par with other Alaskan eateries, which is to say pricey compared to the lower 48. For my fellow vegetarians, a must stop! We tried Tula and Zumi (I can't remember the names TBH) but 10/10 recommend. The service was unbeatable, the views were beautiful and the food was good. There was a third sandwich on the menu for vegans as well. Most veggie sandwiches are bland but these had lots of flavor IMO, and I was wholly impressed. The panini sandwich was really yummy and warm to the soul. They sell it with a side a side of chips and aioli. You order at the counter (to go or for here) and they'll serve it to your table. Tiny little cafe with really good soup and sandwiches or panini's. Ordered the Oakie and roasted chicken soup. The Oakie comes with Bacon Gouda, havarti onions and apples so good. This is an adorable, charming and delicious lunch spot on the water with high ceilings and filled with natural light. With a table on the bay side, you get a great view. We had the turkey panini, seafood chowder, duffins (muffin donut hybrid) and coffee. All were great but we especially loved the chowder This is counter service and the staff who take your order, prepare your food and bring it out to the table are lovely. 10/10 read more

In the old railroad building - a building that survived the 1964 earthquake and Tsunami by the way - we stopped in for lunch. BLT, Roast Beef and Cheese, Chicken soup and Van sandwich. All amazing tasting and the service was great. Right on the water the views are great - and there is no doubt it is crowded in summer ! First this place deserves the great reviews. The only reason for deducting a star is because there is no organization around seat assignment - basically if you put something on the table without ordering you get that table - however if you ask - they say please order first. We followed the direction and let's just say - we had to vigilantly claim a table a messy table and clean ourselves. Not what I was expecting and better service could have made my experience 5-star. The food was great (sandwiches), yet, the donut muffin and banana bread is where they stand out. And boy do they ever. The banana bread is the best I've had. Not overly moist, great balance of flavors and a little espresso and chocolate. Amazing. The muffin donut was another level, the star of the show. Frankly it is going to make me miss this place and will have me craving more. Thanks for the great meal! read more

My food was excellent! Hit the spot. I knocked 1 point off because of the seating situation. We asked when we walked in if we just grab a table and they told us to order first and then sit. Meanwhile, other people came in and threw something down on a table to claim it before ordering and they didn't have a problem with that either. We had to play shuffle as new people came in and grab a table and clean it. If the staff seated people it would really help. That said, again, my meal was fantastic. The jazzy is a roast beef sandwich with peppers and horseradish. It was a great blend of flavor. These little "donut muffins" were insanely good! My husband and I were just going to split one and then we had to grab another so we had a whole one. Too good to just have half! Lol Bonus - the view is stunning! We were in town for a couple of days and finally had a chance to try Zudy's! The historic building is cool and they had lots of fresh produce out in baskets. It was fairly busy and it took a while before we were acknowledged as we stood awkwardly inside the front door. Once seated, I enjoyed seeing fresh flowers on each tabletop. We had a fresh purple tulip. I liked the different artworks hanging on the walls, it made for a colorful interior with lots to look at. Our order of 2 paninis & 1 open faced tuna bagel took around 30 minutes to arrive. The order came automatically inside to-go boxes. No utensils or napkins were given. My group said their food tasted good. I thought it was odd that they didn't offer plates to share, napkins, utensils, salt, pepper, etc. I loved the fresh sprouts and blueberries on my "Chubby Mermaid" sandwich but it was extremely difficult to eat, and could have used a little more moisture in the tuna salad. 3 sandwiches and 3 sodas cost a bit over $50.00. All in all, I liked the vibe, but I wasn't impressed. Quite a scenic place though. read more
