Stopped in for a quick bite as we were on a tour and only had a couple of hours in Seward. Ordered a turkey club and clam chowder. It was excellent! Sliced turkey breast and bakery style bread. Clam chowder was hearty and flavorful. Enjoyed it enough that we ordered one of their box lunches to go to snack on later, and a raspberry pastry. That was also very good. A no frills type of deli restaurant. Would definitely visit again if in the area. Owner is a conversationalist and easy to talk to. Good experience overall and left satisfied. read more

Fascinating place. Basically exists because there are so few breakfast places around the marina where boat tours go out in the AM. Owner talks a lot and the signage, while a lot to digest, isn't necessarily bad but a scene. My issue was more the food. It's greasy spoon diner food, at best. I got the eggs and sausage. Sausage was decent. Maybe one egg. Potatoes are actually cooked well but the oil definitely tasted like fish. And not in a good way. My guess is they don't change their oil very often. Service was to be expected at a place like this. It certainly wasn't cheap but nothing in Alaska is. Overall we had really no choice for breakfast before our tour. So I guess it served its purpose. read more

Stopped for a pastry one day and lunch the next... all good. The cinnamon role was great on day one. Followed up with the Philly the next day for lunch and it was excellent as were the fries. If I come back to Seward, I'll come back to Lighthouse for sure! read more

My previous review was deleted because Yelp or the owner claims I didn't eat there. Posting a picture with my receipt for breakfast. And the toilet situation where they want you to stick your hand in the tank to flush the toilet. The breakfast wasn't bad but as with other deleted reviews the environment was very uncomfortable because the owner talks crazy politics loudly at the counter nonstop about his support for Israel and the flag next to him. Very unAlaskan crazy man raging to every customer against democrats, against Muslims and that taxes are socialism. Talking a mile a minute. Lecturing everyone at the order counter. All kinds of imagery in restaurant and window. EVERYONE in the place including employees are obviously offended but trapped in Alaska. It's unbelievable. Like how does this place exist?! My last review was deleted due to "appearing to be motivated more by media attention or current events rather than one's own customer experience with the business" I want to be clear I did come here on 6/28 and wasn't happy with my hazelnut latte-- it tasted like warm milk and strong hazelnut, the danish we got was okay. My husband also didn't enjoy his warm milk. When we walked out we both stated we didn't like being in there since the signs were pro Israel, pro Trump and extremely religious. Had we known it was like that before ordering we would not have ordered. I do not want to support businesses that are like this. It doesn't support my values. Deleting reviews makes the ones you keep up biased. The other reviews that stated the same thing about the signs were also removed. read more

This is your classic greasy spoon, no frills place. The staff gives a hometown greeting and feel. They provide big portions of food. We ordered breakfast and they gave 4 thick slices bacon as a serving. You order at the counter (no substitutions) then find a seat and they'll bring out your food. The drink station is self-serve. The location is in the harbor so you have to pay for parking unless you can find a street spot for 30 min only. This was a breakfast place that we were looking for. If you want service and fancy surrounding this is not your place. read more

A small, centrally-located cafe serving up breakfast foods in Seward -- it was one of the few things open during the tourist off-season, so we ducked in before heading to the docks for our tour. Great place for family breakfast. Their apple pastry was amazing. The portions are very big. Their oatmeal was plain but delicious.

As someone who has tried cinnamon rolls almost everywhere she has traveled OMG these are tremendously delicious! The dough is so moist and tender, especially in the middle. No need for butter to make up for the dryness, even on the outside layer. They even provide a microwave for you. As someone who always microwaves her cinnamon rolls, I was happy to be able to heat in to my satisfaction. It was so good, I went back the next day and it was just as good. Moreover, for those of you who want bang for your buck, these rolls are HUGE! If you are unlike me, you could easily stretch it 2-3 days. read more

Good for a quick breakfast. We came here to grab food before a boat tour of Kenai Fjords and took the food onboard. Walking in, there is an overwhelming scent of cleaning products. The line was long but moved quickly. Our food was ready quickly. They have a big variety for breakfast and lots of baked goods. The bagel sandwich was decent, but the cinnamon roll seemed to be missing the cinnamon. Nothing spectacular, wouldn't come here for a sit down breakfast if I had more time. read more

The man working at the front counter register was impatient, surely and rude. A poster boy for "I Hate My Job" personified. In fairness though, he did say that there were only 3 employees (including him) working today, and there are usually 5 or more on surly duty. One of them forgot to turn on the coffee brewer; an unfortunate mistake on a cold day at breakfast time with a lot of customer traffic. We ordered the somewhat overpriced bagel sandwiches (egg & cheese). The potion size was good but the fried ova were bland. Woke up late and was concerned not many options would be available for breakfast in Seward. Yay for this place as they are open til 2 pm. I ordered the breakfast deal which you get to pick your protein, potatoes and eggs. I opted for the sausage patties and scrambled eggs. Breakfast was like a home cooked meal which i needed bc the prior day was gray and rainy. Food was good and potatoes had that nice crisp and seasoning. The dude working the counter is about as friendly as you can get, he gave us great trip suggestions and things to see during our stay. Great guy to talk history with, definitely won't leave you sitting bored while waiting for your food. By the way, the raspberry fritter is killer. Heated up would have been even better. It definitely wasn't as bad as the reviews but it also wasn't anything to write home about. The service was pretty quick, but there were only a few people ahead of us. The guy at the front was friendly enough, and as someone with blue hair who wore a mask I was expecting judgment based on the reviews (but I can't speak for anyone else's experience). There's definitely a lot of religious stuff in the place. The breakfast burrito was fine. Wasn't bad at all, wasn't memorable, but good sustenance for our Kenai Fjords tour. We brought donuts on our tour as well, they were a little hard but fine. I guess this place is fine. read more

Not a good place for customer service. Wanted a purchased Danish warmed up and the person working the front counter was very rude in response to my request.. The microwave was on the counter by the worker, it was extremely close to him, however the worker asked customer to take a look at the people behind in line and apologize for making them wait 20 seconds for a pastry to be warmed. Additionally worker continued to berate the customer even more during the 22nd warm-up. The next day customers mother unknowingly goes in and inquires about whether fresh cookies will be put out that day and the same worker snapped at her as well.. The coffee was nothing special either. All in all I would suggest you try a different spot for your morning pick me up. read more

Came in after leaving our ship. Waiting in the warm seemed better than sitting in the cold. We had a raspberry bear claw that was delicious and coffee that hit the spot.. It's clear that this is a busy place that locals run and tend to. We liked interacting with them and didn't mind that a table had to be wiped off. I know how to do that and didn't mind doing it. I have read the reviews and it seems people will complain about everything. You're in Alaska, at a busy local bakery, it's most likely cold outside, order a pastry & coffee, you'll probably feel better. read more

Food was quick, service was not good, tables were dirty, we had to bus someone's dirty dishes and wipe table down ourselves in order to use the table, the wall behind us were so dirty and disgusting as if food had been thrown all over and then crusted over. We had breakfast here. The options are limited in the city and we had walked by this bakery a few times and decided to try it for breakfast. The staff was nice and accommodating. The food was good. We tried the French toast, egg/sausage biscuit, and cinnamon roll. All was acceptable. Nothing amazing. The inside needs a bit of work, the paint job and decor is horrible, it was clean however. We love lighthouse bakery! We just bought 9 large DELICIOUS chocolate chip cookies for $14 dollars! We also tried the cinnamon roll and the blueberry muffin, and all of it was really delicious. I highly recommend this stop if you come to Seward, and the owners couldn't be nicer! read more
