The lobby had a cute sitting area and a breakfast room, plus they were well equipped with maps for snowmobiling, and the local area. Our room was roomy, clean with a comfy bed, a mini fridge, and had plenty of info about the surrounding towns including restaurants, and fun local activities. If I wasn't a native, this would be certainly helpful.

The floors were hardwood in the room, plenty of lighting available, a mini fridge, ceiling fan and air conditioning. Although some may consider the room to be a tad bit high, we found the whole experience to be well worth every penny.

We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and weren't sure what to expect. This place exceeded our expectations. The mansion itself is beautiful. Every time we walked around the house we discovered more treasures, everything from the molding to antique pieces. The property has a lovely view of the Erie Canal. Each morning there was coffee waiting or us outside our door on a beautifully arranged tray. Then we went down to breakfast. I hate to repeat myself but the table was also beautifully arranged. We tried several different dishes during our stay, each one delicious. Our host, John and Rebecca, were there for our every need, without being intrusive. After running around all day It was so relaxing to return to our room each night. We asked several relatives to stop by and see the place. Our Aunt was thrilled as she had driven by hundreds of times and never been inside. She was not disappointed. One extra point. They have a friendly dog named Riley who helped us forget how much we missed our own pets. We plan to return here each time we return to Syracuse.

They also rent sleds, do repairs, offer long-term storage, and have ethanol-free fuel on-site. They are located directly on the trail. Quick story: I lost the brakes on my Polaris sled and couldn't find parts anywhere. They found the parts, stopped what they were doing to make the repair, and saved my trip! Since the woman at the front desk was helping someone else I made the mistake of believing the sign. Stupid me! Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Found the restaurant and our group at 6:18. The ambiance was very nice. The waitress was professional and helpful and accommodating. She was great. The appetizers excellent. We had six main dishes. The pasta was not cooked to al dente, closer to underdone. The salmon was good and so was the risotto. The Osso Bucco was tough and hard to eat. Oddly the meat was falling off the bone but the meat was still tough. The meatloaf was horrible, worst meal I have had in years. The waitress was wise enough to not ask how the meal was. She did not inquire why I didn't want a box for my uneaten meal. The greens that came with the meatloaf were undercooked. The masked potatoes were delicious. My conclusion is that the food is inconsistent and the failure of the waitress to ask how things were or anything reflects that she has wisely learned not to ask. Again, she was great.

The beds are of good quality (better than at the Edge) but here you get more the feeling of a motel (as opposed to a nicer and newer lodge like at the Edge). Limited staff, so the front desk closes at 10 PM (which means you will need to call ahead if you plan on arriving post hours and they will leave your keys on the front desk for you). Limited staff also means no flexibility on getting an early breakfast (it starts at 6 AM but not sooner) and the choices are limited. Other negatives: no coffee makers in the room, no shampoo. Again, the Ridge View does the job but a lot of the amenities we are typically used to these days are missing.

The location was very convenient to the town, walkable to all the restaurants and shops. Our room was very comfortable and spacious, and the bed and pillows were SO comfy. We also had a nice view of the water and boats from the room, which was a bonus. However, the balcony hadn't been cleaned off in a while as there were lots of bugs and cobwebs. The hotel also offers Starbucks coffee on each floor every morning! The breakfast on the patio was good, but the service was a little slow. We also enjoyed happy hour on the patio one night though --the crab dip was delicious, and the espresso martini was excellent. A couple of things to know before your stay: there aren't complimentary bottled waters in the room, but the front desk is happy to provide them if you ask. The hotel also doesn't have a late-night market or convenience area for drinks and snacks, which would have been nice. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend The Harbour Hotel for anyone visiting Clayton.

Shower, no cold water in couple rooms, some only hot water. Still overall recommended. Nice pool and hottub. Large event space and easy parking. Ps Robes are very nice and worth $75. I had also tried about a dozen bed and breakfasts before I came upon this GEM. Quaint guest house - completely separate and private from the owners home. Generous sized room with 2 Queen size beds full covered porch, with grill and right next to a horse barn,. Like waking up in a Christmas card ! Fridge stocked with breakfast goods, juices and milk. Cereals, donuts, snacks, you really want for nothing. Our host greeted us upon arrival and left us alone for the remainder of our stay, leaving notes to call if we needed. There was absolutely nothing we could have needed that wasn't supplied. Satellite TV and dozens of CD movies. A basket of books and magazines. Robes, towels linens... They REALLY have made a beautiful and welcoming place here. 15 - 30 minute ride to the 4 surrounding colleges. We will be back.
