The exteriors to this thrift shop are so appealing! It looks like a higher end store rather than a Goodwill. Inside, there are neatly organized racks of clothes, shoes, books, and random knickknacks (I saw lots of dolls and dishes). There are two fitting rooms, which is a big plus given that many thrift stores only have mirrors these days. The inventory seems to be composed of a lot of well-known brand items such as Madewell, Calvin Klein, Obey, Bebe, etc. However there is also a good amount of things from SHEIN, Forever 21, H&M as well. There were Halloween costumes for kids and adults. I do agree with some reviews that prices can seem a bit arbitrary, especially for the fast fashion items, but for the most part they are reasonable, between $10-20 for most pieces. I got two shirts here for $14 due to them having a 25% off sale for shirts specifically. The staff were friendly and I appreciated that everything was clean and orderly. Note that there's limited parking spots outside - not sure if you have to pay or not. As someone non-native to this area, I appreciated the chance to check it out! One of the IG influencers posted this saying it had all these designer and high end brand items at the RARE by Goodwill. I had to go to OC for work so I decided to go check this place out. There's a small parking lot next to this store but it's full from people going to the ice skating rink across the way. There's a large parking structure behind the store. RARE is a nice, modern, bright store enclosed in large glass windows but store itself is small. There are racks and shelves of nicely organized clothes, accessories, shoes. However, there's just a handful of "designer" items - old, ratty Coach bag, Michael Kors bag that also has been well-worn. Many of the items seemed overpriced. There was only 2 dressing rooms in the store and the line for that was long. Women trying on the clothes would open the door & yell out for their friend to get thumbs up or down. Then they would go back & change into another outfit. OMG! Just try it on & stop relying on approval. These items are not hundreds of dollars for crying out loud. Many items were Target brand or something similar. Nothing to make this RARE store rare or extra special. Unless you're in the neighborhood, this place is not worth making a trip to. read more

This was my first time visiting this store. The selection for women was decent but the sizes for anything over a Medium was limited. My friend was able to find two shirts in the Men's section. I don't recall see a section for kids. I went on a Friday and after 3 pm so maybe trying earlier in the week could bring more luck then I had. The cashier was polite during our checkout process. We spent 15 dollars on two shirts and in this economy that's a win. I did like that they had dressing rooms. The store was neat and in a good location. read more

Overall, this place was good-okay. Between 3-4 stars. I did end up getting some nice finds, especially a nice Patagonia jacket for $13. But most of the items were tagged from Marshall's and Ross and the prices were either matching or a dollar or two lower. It's not much "thrifting". It's a vibe, though. Like "ommggggg let's go thrift shopping in Downtown Anaheim!". It's a small store. Things seem to be organized by type of clothes, but not so much sizes. There are only 2 dressing rooms and it says it's 5 items at a time, 15 min max. So take that into consideration. There was always a long line to try stuff on. And I'm the type that NEEDS to try things on, so it took a while. I will give the 4th star though because of customer service. The lady at the register helped me out very much because I was paying with multiple gift cards. I very much appreciate her patience. The staff is great. The issue is the selection and pricing. This place is very hit or miss. Some days I score other times I don't. The pricing is a bit all over the place. The last time I went in I saw this dress NWT and their price range was higher than what the person who donated it got it for. Yes one could argue that the original price was $24.99, but when you see the original tag with the clearance price of $8.99 and the goodwill tag of $14.99 it makes you really want to reconsider shopping here. read more

Lots of cute selections here! They were prepping for fall so had some discounts on summer seasonal clothes which helped save some $$$. I'll come back at the end of fall to see if they have that discount again . Their prices are fair, since it's nicer quality and brands than what you'd typically find in a regular Goodwill, expect to see prices that are a little higher for second hand items. Honestly had a bit more expectations for this store. For one, I'm not from the area but i came across this little boutique thrift on yelp. Mainly rating a 3 for the selection of clothes/home goods. Honestly felt similar to a normal good will. I did find two items, but again, nothing too crazy or special about them. I will say though, the prices were affordable! Stumbled upon this hidden gem by accident. Searching for parking then ended up in front of RARE by Goodwill. It's my lucky day! RARE is super organized and surprisingly very clean. The prestige handbags are all marked at very affordable prices. You can tell they only displayed the purses that were used with love. We were on a hunt for vintage tees when I somehow found myself standing face to face with Annabelle from The Conjuring. It was a sign that it was time to leave! read more

Found a good condition Michael Kors sweater Some items are still with tags, There are a lot of Disney/Marvel/Pixar/Star Wars t-shirts that looked like officially licensed. They had some vinyl but it looked like somebody went thru it and got all the good stuff. Some crappy dvds and vhs tapes. RARE, it's just that. The name speaks for itself. Consider this the Goodwill of Beverly Hills. With timing and a little luck, you'll probably come across some high name brands such as Michael Kors, Coach, Marc Jacobs and Tiffany & Co. On top of that there's the Forever 21, H&M, Disney, Calvin Klein, Diesel, Adidas, Nike and much more. I like to come here twice a year especially during Halloween season since they always have creative costumes and I always end up walking out with a few purchases. But I enjoy this store since their items are just like the name, RARE. I especially enjoy how selective they are with the items they sold and it's more of a vintage style versus outdated and worn. Think of Vintage Urban Outfitter. Love this place and giving it a four star. read more

I parked right in front of the store, which was awesome. Outside there is some trees and potted plants, so I walked that before going in the store. This store is very organized and plenty of space between racks, so many great items to look at, and prices were awesome. I got myself a purse as a bday gift and some new toys for my dog. I wish there was more of a selection for womens plus, or if there is a selection, perhaps signage in store so we know where to go. It was kinda hard to tell how sizes were organized. read more

Stopped by on a Thursday afternoon for the first time. I was swept away by how neat, organize and contemporary it looked. It's less typical Goodwill, and more like Crossroads or Buffalo Exchange. It's definitely a thrift store for the newer, younger generation ( millennials or Gen Z, if you will). I browsed around and saw lots of women's and just as much men's clothing. A lot of casual pieces like pants, jeans, t-shirts. Some unique and rare items, too. A small book, records and home goods section. Prices are decent. I snagged a pair of royal blue jeans for $12. Overall, a pleasant experience and I would come back. read more

Very cool store layout and set up, but the selection doesn't match. Lot of forever 21, pac sun, more basic brands. Didn't find much vintage or unique items as the branding of the store suggests. I've walked by this store when some friends and co-workers wanted to grab meals from Pokinometry across the street. This past Sunday, I decided to stop in after running some errands and wanted to locate a pair of vintage leather pants I could cut up or a leather pair of shorts. My GPS claimed there is a structure, but I think it's really for Wells Fargo customers and I didn't want to chance it. I was lucky and found a 90 minute parking spot near the store. These are best for small to medium cars, due to the size of the spaces. Store is well laid out and it looks more like a boutique than a traditional Goodwill. They were busy because they had some deals on certain types of clothes, but it wasn't too crowded. It felt like there was a mix of fast fashion pieces and some mid-priced brands on the racks and tables. No luck finding what I came for, but it was interesting to explore. I almost considered this huge leather messenger bag, but it was in a slightly rougher shape than I wanted. Pricing was fair for it - $7.99 Not sure if I'll be back or not. I think what I am looking for is maybe better suited for the traditional Goodwill locations. read more

Well... maybe I went with higher expectations? I was looking for workwear and they really didn't have much. Great selection of jeans and sweaters. But no pants/skirts/dresses that are suitable for an office environment. If I were rating this based on my need, it would be a 2. But if you don't have something more specific you're looking for, it was decent. Not super crowded (I went on a weekday, early afternoon). Parking out front. It's a clean and nice set up. Got more of a hang out vibe tho. The prices are reasonable but not much of a selection for anyone younger or older than 16-30 years old. I don't get it. Used Forever 21 shirts for $9-$15? I didn't see a single brand worth looking at. I carried around a $15 sweater vest but decided it wasn't worth it's hefty price tag- it needed lots of attention from a fabric shaver. They don't even have half price certain colored tags or $1 day. It's literally a glorified goodwill in what wants to be Urban Outfitters circa 2007 but messy AF & 99% polyester. There was a family there with 3 infants running around screaming & a woman with her small dog trying to avoid them like the plague- overall not a good time. read more

This review is for one unfortunate experience at the store, not the store itself. This visit occurred 8/22/23. I'm local to the area and visit this store pretty often. As with most thrift stores I don't expect customer service to be very interactive. It's not like you need to check on sizes or availability when every item is one of one. I also worked retail for years and generally don't ask for assistance; since I know first hand how draining these positions can be. On my most recent visit to this store I had an exchange with the rudest employee I've ever encountered. I had looked at a rack of shirts, liked a few, and decided to come back to them once I had looked at the other merchandise. I had planned to return to the rack to make a final decision, instead of carrying around multiple shirts I might decide against. When I returned to the rack there was an employee there. I asked the employee, "Can I please look at the shirts on that rack?" This employee had their back turned to me, immediately stiffened, turned around slowly to glare at me and then said "I'm organizing these" in a flat tone. I wasn't expecting this strange response so I asked, "So you don't want me to buy these shirts?" The employee continued staring me down, clearly becoming more angry. They pointed across the store and said, "you can look at the shirts OVER THERE." They were not pointing at a specific rack or area, just directing me to move elsewhere. At this point I was pretty irritated myself and honestly confused. This persons energy was very aggressive, they acted as if I was personally attacking them by trying to shop. I've never encountered a salesperson who doesn't allow you to look at the items they're trying to sell... I responded, "No, I need to look at this rack. I found some shirts earlier, and I just want to grab those few so I can choose one." The employee became visibly more angry; they put down the shirts in their hands quickly, waved me off and quite literally stomped away... to complain to the two cashiers about me and the friend I was shopping with. I chose a shirt and headed to checkout. I passed the original employee on the way there and said, "thank you for letting me look." The employee nodded without making eye contact or responding. Once we got to checkout the cashiers greeted us with wide eyes as if we'd caused a disruption. I've purposely not described any of the employees physically but I will say that all 3 employees I encountered were in their early twenties, if not younger. Conclusion: I'd give zero stars if I could, this was the most aggressive and frankly, the oddest customer service experience I've ever had. read more

I love it here!!!!!! It's very clean and organized (maybe not by sizes but that's half the fun because you can look through everything and maybe find something for a loved one) the staff is VERY kind. Usually not a goodwill girlie since they tend to be oversaturated with fast fashion and overpriced but I was pleasantly surprised by "RARE." Will be frequenting this place often as I'm sure inventory is always changing. Also if you come on a Thursday you can get lunch afterwards at the farmers market!!! I will also note that being a petite gal myself it can be hard to find things that fit me at thrift stores but they seemed to have an abundance of sizes for all of us! read more

There are only 2 changing rooms so it can take a while to try on clothes. There was also a shady person there who commandeered an entire fitting room for about 30 minutes and the people working there seemed used to it so I'm guessing you can encounter some strange characters here. read more

I think if I was looking for party or loud/unique pieces of clothing, then this will have been the right store for me, but it wasn't. I was hoping to find staple pieces of good quality. Rare by Goodwill is okay! Parking is okay if you can find parking in the front, if not you'll hav to park at a garage, or find street parking and walk. The actual store is decorated nicely, and feels much more open and vibrant than a regular Goodwill. Staff is kind and greets you as you enter the store. The clothes are organized and hung up nicely, which makes navigating around the store easy. They have a lot of nicer clothing, and more "hip" finds. They have a lot of clothing, but a lot of it is organized into large stacks that are placed on tables, which makes it difficult to pick through unless you destroy the whole stack and sort through the stack while placing clothing you don't want on top of other clothing. Although the stacks are organized by type of clothing like jeans or T-shirts they don't seem to be organized by size. There wasn't a lot of plus size options, but I don't really blame them since their clothing comes from donations. It was a nice store, but I didn't walk out with anything. read more
