They have interesting items, unusual as advertised. We picked up a really cute Totoro bag for like 20.00. Very good condition and very good quality. I actually bought it for myself but it has since been claimed by my son. I would recommend parking here and walking around. The store is set up more like a boutique than a thrift store. If you are looking for a specialty thrift store and want to support Goodwill- go to Keepers. Not really sure what all the hype is about - it's really more of a small boutique size and I didn't really see any killer deals or absolute must haves. It's a majority of clothes with a really small selection of housewares and decorative items. The staff was really pleasant and kind, and offered to help multiple times which was nice. It's in an easy to access location right in the heart of Anaheim, but you maybe have to walk at the street parking in front is somewhat limited. I absolutely would drive on by if there was a line but might stop in again to see if I had a different experience in the future. read more

When my friend first took me here, she knew I would love it because it was like a curated thrifted section of Urban Outfitters. They have great finds that are pre-loved as well as new with tagged items for big brand names as well as vintage goods. There's a smaller section of men's items than there are for women. There shoes are worth looking at. I definitely appreciate how everything was merchandised into themes and categories. There was some home good items, some cute gold glassware that apparently hasn't sold for awhile probably due to pricing or the demographic around the area. My experience was the week before Christmas so the line was slow moving due to the store's capacity of only 13 people, and everyone was probably shopping for the holiday. Once we got in though, we were able to peruse the store within 30 minutes and came out with a lot of scores. I will definitely come back if I'm in the area again. read more

This is a pretty hip, well stocked and designed, Goodwill where the cream if the crop of second hand items reside. Yes the prices are higher. But the experience is more of a boutique store vibe than a grungy, picked through disaster..And is well worth the little extra for having someone else nicely display items, lots of name brands too, in a manner one can enjoy and not necessarily need a tetanus shot after. I liked the use of broken tv's for decoration. Wall to ceiling art. A changing room! Sitting area. Knick knacks and collectibles. Lots of women's clothes but also men's clothing, shoes, accessories, bags. I even bought a lovely bar of handmade scented lemon soap for $3. Staff was friendly and helpful. We parked outside in front. Not sure if there's a structure nearby, but I'm sure there's additional parking somewhere. Good find in Anaheim read more

I have never been to a Rare by Goodwill before, the location is actually very cool. It's very artsy, and modern. The store itself is very on trend, and there are some cool finds, I found some cool mid-century home items. Prices vary, some are reasonable and some not so much. Honestly, I thought this place was going to be packed with all the items you will not normally see at any ordinary Goodwill. Save yourself some time and cash and just go to the regular stores. I have been here twice now and both times I have left scratching my head as to why they would make this store happen. Yeah you will find some nice things and a couple of pretty expensive brands, but honestly I have seen most of this stuff at the numerous Goodwill's I have gone to. I am pretty avid thrift store shopper so I have been to almost all the ones I have came across in the last year or so. What this store does have that others do not is the nice displays. I really does make you feel like you are at an urban outfitters while you are shopping at a Goodwill. I personally really enjoy the book case and how they recycled books to make the cool display. There is also a neat little area with records and some record players so you can check out the records prior to purchasing them. Parking is a pain here, it is in a really weird location that only has a handful of spots available to the customers of many retail shops / businesses in the area. read more

Definitely see myself coming by in the winter for coats and sweaters. Obviously more expensive that your regular goodwill but the clothes have been preselected which makes it easier to search but you'll pay the price increase for that. This place is an upscale Goodwill store located in downtown Anaheim, off Harbor Boulevard and Broadway, near D-Rinks ice skating facility. If you got a lazy afternoon and want to browse a vintage store, this is the place to check it out. Everything is name brand here says the salesgirl. I found not just name brand stuff, like Gap, Guess, Dockers or Levis, but actually higher brands like Gucci, Dooney and Bourke, Coach, even Christian Louboutin, which retails new at $900 and higher. I even found a Louis Vuitton purse for $59.99. Was it real? Well, it had the stamp inside, even the identification number. Even if it was not real, it sure looked nice. But, it wasn't in the cards for me as i already had a perfectly nice LV purse, so I put it back on the shelf. Everything in the store is final sale. Except for the electronics, which is by exchange only. One nice thing about this Goodwill store is it's very organized. Unlike your typical Goodwill store, which smells weird and have stuff laying everywhere, this one feels like it's a boutique. With the place enclosed in windows, its well lit and airy. It's pricier than a traditional Goodwill, but I'll pay more for a nicer store. The downside of this place is finding parking. There is street parking, but if you can't parallel park, try parking up the street at the parking structure near the ice rink. Hours are little wimpy, opened until 8:00 PM on a Friday night.I guess at night, there's not a lot of foot traffic. So it makes sense to close once the sun goes down. Its not that this place isn't great, it is and has a lot of cool stuff. Its curated well, is clean, and is organized. Thing is... its NOT a genuine "Thrifting Experience" . I prefer to find the treasure, not to have someone else find it, then jack up the price. This place kinda bums me out because of that, to be perfectly honest. The best thrifting experience is finding that old, dusty, dingy item that time forgot, in a corner of the store, that no one else finds valuable but you. Lately, all the GWs are bumming me out because thrifting is "trendy" now, and everyone and their brother is doing it. They are pricing things way out of range and sometimes you are better off just going to an antique mall or shopping online. Designer goods are often cheaper at TJ Maxx. What a great twist to a Goodwill shop. It's set up like an Urban Outfitters/PacSun which makes shopping a lot easier than a typical Goodwill. Prices are higher than expected, but with everything in the store you are absolutely going to leave with some items that you are satisfied with. Not a huge blouse selection for women, but so many jackets, coats, sweaters, and flannels. I left with some shorts & skirts, while my boyfriend left with shirts, jeans, & a pair of slightly worn Nike running shoes. We will be returning when we do another "thrift day" in a few months (hoping the weather is much colder then, to justify my boyfriend & I buying 10 sweaters lol). read more

I noticed that none of the employees greeted me or asked me for help or anything as I was browsing, which was okay... but you can at least greet people. Based on this stores description on Google I expected it to have a good selection of housewares but was disappointed as soon as I entered. The store seemed organized and had a fair amount of clothing, but seem to cater more toward the young crowd with graphic T-shirts, and denim. As for housewares, if that is what you are looking for in your thrifting search, skip this store. There were a few plates, mugs and old dolls. It's 95 % clothing. read more

I will always support an origination that helps those in need! Yet offers jobs with those with limitations! The actual shop does'nt smell but it appears to be pretty clean and organized. My usually to go to are those winter sweaters! Super cute purses and many many books. You do have to dive in often to dig out the best. It is like a treasure hunt. It is best to go early in the morning to avoid the crowds. I always seem to find parking but then again I go early. Prices can vary but nothing looks sad. I always find almost new or softly used. When I come back home to OC area, I look forward to shop here if possible to find those rare finds and deals to find those designer brands. If you a big about shopping at thrift stores and find great clothes. I would HIGHLY shopping here. The shop is really organized and clean. I personally would not think that this was run by Goodwill. Parking can be a bit difficult with the limited parking. There is a good chance you can get a parking spot if you are comfortable parallel parking. When you first walk in, you get to see how the store is layout. The store is separate by the gender of the clothes and type of product. The staff is nice. They are constantly folding and organizing. I like strolling into Rare because everything is so organized and it's so hip! Of course, if you're looking for something specific, you will have to spend a bit of time to go through all the clothes. Lucky for you - most of their clothes are neatly hung! In preparation for Halloween, they start showcasing all the potential Halloween costume ideas for you right in the front of the store (starts late Sept). They have everything from costume dresses, jackets, and accessories to masquerade masks, shoes, and bow ties. If you're the crafty and creative type, you're bound to find something here to suit your costume needs. They also have a neat book section in the back too! Even though I no longer shop or donate at Goodwill because they're a "for profit" business I couldn't help but wanting to go inside. It's a nicer, more trendy Goodwill targeted for the younger crowd. The items are neatly and decoratively organized and makes it easy for you to browse the store. There are items for women, men, and the home. Items seem to be more new, but the price is still low and affordable. Be sure to look out for what's on sale when you enter the store. My wife found a lot of cool clothes. For example, full linen shorts from Ralph Lauren. She also found a lot of pants that fit great even though she is a plus size. As for the men's section I was a bit confused with the styles. Almost no regular pants but lots of jeans. And very little of long sleeves but a lot of short sleeve dress shirts. Nobody looks good in short sleeve dress shirts but they had a whole table for them. And they also had A LOT of heavy weight flannel shirts. To be fair they had some cool silk Hawaiian shirts. Maybe I went on a bad day for guys but I didn't find anything in a normal style. However I was still able to pick up some cotton lightweight shorts for myself! The leather shoes for guys were also just slightly better than other goodwills I've been to. They had some $100 range shoes like Clarks and Hush puppies. So, disappointed by the men's selection this time but really impressed by the women's section. The employees were nice and wore makeup and looked really well put together Parking was easy to find on a Monday at 6pm. Not sure how it is at other times. Not located on Broadway, off back streets a bit hidden. No public bathroom. Well organized. Very picked over. Everything is higher end brands but poor poor quality scratched, snagged, cracked. Book wall spells out RARE in books but no rare books. Walked every rack, bought nothing. I find much more one off quality items in a regular store then this store. I wonder if this is the name-brands donations that they couldn't sell on line. read more

Usually I am not one for shopping at thrift stores. Rare is an exception. I love the selection they have. I have found a lot of good buys at this store. For example, I bought a pink Tommy Hilfilger jacket for $25 to $30. If you would buy this jacket at Macy's (or some other department stores), it would be more than $100. Trendy Goodwill smashed with Urban Outfitters. First off the parking situation is that there basically is nowhere to park besides metered parking and even then good luck finding a spot. My tip is to park across the street at the Anaheim Central Library (very nice library btw) since there's plenty of parking and then walk over. Once you walk inside it's very clean and trendy. You get a hipster feeling immediately, which I love. Everything and sectioned off by style and color and the shoes are placed under the racks of the various clothes. It's great that here they have all the popular labels like H&M, Ann Taylor, Loft, and more. It's difficult when you walk into a typical Goodwill and you have to search forever if you are looking for a particular brand. However, Rare is more expensive than a typical Goodwill. You can still find these popular brands in all regular Goodwills, you just have to search. Most shirts, dresses, and other clothing at Rare are around the $12-15 range. Customer service was good but I didn't like how no one asked me if they could hold my clothes at the front for a bit while I searched. I had a stack of clothes in my arms and no one asked. There were less than a handful of people in the store. I loved what I bought but I don't think I'll come back for a little while just because it's out of the way for me, parking, and price. read more

If you're looking for a slightly pricier Goodwill boutique, this is the place to go. The price range is from $8 - $12ish for clothes. Staff is pretty nice, parking can be difficult because it mostly street parking. The clothes range from overpriced to some pretty good finds. I come here if I need a sports jerseys​ like Lakers and Angel's or hat because there's lots of them. Workout clothes too! I got some underamour stuff here. If you're looking for a thrift store with great finds you NEED to go to rare by goodwill! I have seen so many great brands for super cheap at this location like Topshop, Chicos, etc.! They have a good selection of band t-shirts as well. In addition to clothing, they also have cool gadgets like record players (old school ones), records, books, artwork, toys, and much more. They sell a lot of cute bags/purses, shoes and accessories for men and women. It is a very clean store and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Just walking by you wouldn't even be able to tell it was a Goodwill store. Parking can be difficult- it's street parking and the parking spots have a 90 minute max I believe. If there was anything that could be improved I would have to say maybe add some more plus size clothing! Last time I was in, I had a little trouble finding many items that were my size. read more
