Very spacious and clean pools. About 50-100 tanning lounge chairs to choose from. Very attentive lifeguards. Snack bar is available as well. A diving pool, Olympic pool, swimming lanes, adult section, and various feet of water to swim in. This is all included when you pay the one time fee for the day. So sad I only learned about them towards the end of the summer! They close on Labor Day. Will definitely make it a staple to come back next summer.

There are a few picnic tables and grills on the lawn. No pool lounge chairs or towel service so bring your own chairs, picnic blankets, food/snacks and other accoutrements to enjoy a leisurely summer day. Facilities are clean and well-maintained. Very kids/toddler-friendly. The sizeable shallow end has several sprinklers/splash fountains for children to play in, and there are slides on both the kiddie and adult sides. Also a playground in the back (not affiliated with the pool). There are always many life guards on duty every time I've gone. The pool is accessible only to Clarkstown residents and their guests, so if you're not a resident befriend someone who is. You must obtain a Clarkstown resident ID card first at the registration office at 31 Zukor Road in New City. (The pool won't simply accept a driver's license.) Rates can be either daily or seasonal for individuals or family, and are very reasonable compared to similar community pools.

It's no exaggeration that these monsters from the deep probably kept a legion of child psychiatrists in full time employment. On a recent visit it was nice to see that the previous snake-ridden den of iniquity has long been been replaced with a legitimate pool and that the mythological beasts of years past have been slayed by chlorine and actual cement walls. You can even see right to the bottom. What a concept. This is what Nanuet Lake should have been like all along... no thanks whatsoever to my parents who thought this was some tough love version of Shangri La, albeit minus the all consuming bliss one often finds in paradise. I kid about my parents (almost) and am happy to bestow five easy stars for a childhood reclaimed. I still hate snakes.

In most pools, you see grumpy lifeguards twirling their whistles, wishing they were somewhere else! (I used to be a pool lifeguard - your job is not that bad, kiddos!) You can't blame Saf-T-Swim for people not wanting to work. As for missing classes whether it was because you had to cancel or Saf-T-Swim canceled you should have known the makeup policy when you signed up. You should have asked questions if you weren't told or weren't sure. Now you know. I will admit the communication was lacking but again they were very short handed and overwhelmed. Any instructor we have had here has been top notch. Very patient and understanding. The front desk is always very helpful when we are there for any questions we might have and no matter how busy they are they always greet us on our way in and out. They have a swim team on Friday nights from 8-9 that my daughter swims in also and I think another night during the week. I actually highly recommend this location for all levels of swimmers. Clinton G. Martin Park is where our town pool is. When our kids were young we use to join every…read moreyear and it was like them having a play date every time we went because all their friends were there also. It was great, they would have their fill of fun and then we could go home and rest. Now years later my wife and I joined the newly renovated pool with all new lounge chairs, locker and rest rooms and a new kiddie pool with a slide. It is a huge improvement. It was ok before and now it is so much better. We came here quite a bit this year and really enjoyed it. There is no food allowed by the pool area but they have a snack stand with tables and benches where you can either purchase food or bring your own. We had a very nice time this season and will join again next. They also have other amenities at the park such as tennis and a meeting room.
