The employees in the yard are helpful and knowledgeable. They have a good assortment of plants in stock and are willing to make a special order upon request. They even deliver compost. My last delivery, of mixed soil and compost, was supposed to be two cubic yards but it was quite a bit more than that. read more

Had 5 yards of garden soil delivered yesterday. Driver spent 15 mins destroying my grass backing in and out, damaging both sides of my fence gate while doing so. He ended up dumping the soil half in our yard and half in the ally way. Our yard now has giant 8+ inch deep tire tracks and our fence is damaged. Called and asked them about it today and were told to email pictures to the owner. We did promptly after the call. The response from the owner was: 1.) "Our driver said he didn't hit anything" (the driver apologized verbally for hitting/cracking the fence) 2.) "We tell our drivers and customers alike that we do not drive on the grass." (Even though I watched him struggle to get out of my grass for 15 mins and there are tire marks and everything to show that he did) 3.) " If we cannot drop it off on your curb then you assume all liability for anywhere else we drop the dirt" (We came into their store in person and then later placed an order through the phone. Not once did they mention any policy regarding such a thing) Owner responded with lies and contradicting commentary (He wrote in caps lock that they did not drive on grass, but right before hand said the driver said I told him to drive into the grass). Worse service ever and super unprofessional. Paid over $160 just to have them damage my fence and destroy my lawn. 10/10 would NOT recommend. read more

I've been reading reviews on here thinking MAYBE i'd try this company again as it is near my home. I used them several years ago when they first started advertising in the valpak/coupons. They landscaped my entire backyard...terrible job and a lot of what i paid for was such poor quality that it died. Other issues with a small flagstone patio they made as well..when i tried to have them come out to look at it and correct the issues they wouldn't return calls, and after over a year of calling finally spoke to me and blew me off. They were very unprofessional and rude. I thought maybe it would be different all of these years later, but see not from what I am reading on here. Beware! read more

My husband and I both own a landscaping business and we have used your company to buy rocks from for two days now. We came back today to get another load of rocks and the owner got upset about questions being asked. My husband wasn't being rude or anything and the owner got out the tractor and slapped my husband across the face. My husband got back in his truck and went back into the office just to find out that was the owner. Hmm.. I don't understand how you can run a business with this level of customer service. Whether it was a bad day for him or not. You don't treat someone that is at your business buying materials from you and you treat them like this?? Wow! ***Beware*** customer and employees DO NOT LET THE DRIVERS LEAVE THE PAVEMENT OR DONT USE THIS COMPANY PERIOD. If I could give them a zero or less I would. Called this morning for 20 yards of garden soil. They said they could deliver half today. Cool. Paid over the phone with credit card. 3 hours later they say they are on the way. Here is where the trouble starts. We needed the dirt on the opposite side of the yard away from the driveway since it was such a big load. Well there is a field next to where we needed it. Told the driver we need it on that side and can't cross the yard because of septic. It rained the last few days so we weren't sure it would make it and said we can have you come back in a few days. He said it would be no problem. Well it was and the truck sank only a few feet past the culvert. I asked the driver what do you do when you get stuck. He didn't have an answer other than I dump the load, he called the office, not sure what was said but going to guess it was the same answer. He said he needed to drop the load where he was at but unfortunately there is no way out if he was to drop it in the entrance to the field. I said well you're going to need to get a tow truck or something, he said he couldn't do that. So we (my husband , myself and my 16 year old son) spent nearly 2 hours trying to help him get unstuck. Leaving giant ruts in my neighbors field she was nice enough to allow us access to. Finally a neighbor with a backhoe came and yanked him out, thank God for country people! Just as he was coming out of the entrance a tree branch, a very large one, went under the wheel well and into the front grill of his truck popping the latch on his hood. Just then the OWNER of the company shows up on the road. He NEVER said anything to us, nothing, not sorry for this, not any kind of customer service response about why it took so long for him to get there or us getting his driver out. The customer and 16 year old kid standing there covered in mud trying to help the driver put his hood back on the truck. He instantly started SCREAMING at the driver using all kinds of profanity and pacing like a crazy person. I literally thought he was going to hit him. And after reading the review where he slapped a customer I'm going to guess he would have if we weren't standing there. He literally said to the driver "Do this sh/! on their dime not mine" He belittled this man in front of us so bad it was so degrading and disgusting. He literally never said anything to us at all. We felt so bad for the driver we weren't even upset about him getting stuck anymore. My husband stepped up on the truck steps to shake his hand and say sorry your boss just yelled at ya like that and the dirt bag owner got out of his truck and started yelling AGAIN, this time I'm pretty sure it was directed at us for holding up the driver and asking if he was ok. We had planned on just having them come back but after witnessing that we called to cancel our order all together. The lady said well it's the drivers discretion and he made the wrong choice but we will refund. Which in turn the refund has caused a 15 day block on my credit card so it can not be used in time now to buy soil elsewhere. We called later on to see if they planned to fill the ruts left by the truck. The same lady responded hang on I'll ask. She came back on and said No, our drivers ARE NOT supposed to leave the pavement and you directed him there so it is your responsibility to take care of any damages he caused. I have now spent $145 so far fixing the ruts left and breaking my husband's and my own back to do so. Lesson learned. Will never recommend them to anyone I know and will warn everyone I know of their disgusting treatment of employees and customers And we still haven't had any kind of apology for witnessing that or my kid witnessing the foul mouthed behavior of THE OWNER. I'm new to this home and have been looking for a landscaper for 2 months to take care of the "jungle" known as the backyard. When I saw the ad for Raupp Brothers in the coupon circular I figured, why not give them a call. I called on a Monday morning looking to set up an appointment for an estimate, the lady on the phone said not a problem that the next available appointment would be the following Thursday at 4:30, naturally I said I'll take it. I'm anxious about the yard getting taken care of so I am eagerly waiting for Thursday to get here...Thursday arrives and 4:30 comes and goes, then 5, then 5:30. Yep, NO ONE SHOWED UP!! No one called to say that they were running behind or that they weren't going to be able to make it and they'd have to reschedule. I found this to be extremely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL, we had waited almost 2 weeks for this appointment and then got stood up! I would not call this company again, I don't care if they are giving away landscaping, very poor way to run a business. Thankfully for us, I was very anxious about this and we had called another company the day before our appointment. They showed up same day and gave me a great quote for the work we wanted done. I had an appointment for an estimate on 07/01/14 @ 10am that I had made two weeks prior. When no one showed by 10:30am, I called and talked to the receptionist; she indicated she would call the person that was supposed to be at my house and call me back. At 11:45am, I decided to call back as no one had called me yet. I was shocked when I was told no one called me back because they, "had nothing to tell me" as the person they tried to call didn't answer the phone. When I explained that maybe a reason to call would be: A)they had said they would, B)I had been waiting nearly two hours, C)it's professional and good customer service, and D)it's common courtesy....the reply I received was, "Well, I don't know what to tell you." Needless to say, I cancelled any future service; this company is right up there with Classic Construction in my book...both seemingly terrible companies. read more

I had 5 yards of dirt delivered on 9/7/19 and this was the worst topsoil I HAVE EVER purchased. The amount of rocks in it was ridiculous. I put the dirt in areas in September and after settling I had to scrape all the rocks off the top, but more just come after a couple more weeks of settling. So now I have to literally pick the rocks off individually because of the grass that has sprouted. Completely ridiculous. If you're going to use the same truck you deliver rocks with to deliver topsoil, take the time to clean the truck out!! read more

I stopped in a month or so ago to price some shrubs for my front yard. I saw something I was interested in, had no price tag, stopped in the office to ask about them and was told "they couldn't give me a price because they had to figure out the delivery fee they had to pay" (???). They acted like they really couldn't bother with me. Was it because it wasn't a huge landscaping job? I only needed a few shrubs replaced. Then they told me that even if I found something, they likely couldn't do the job because it sounded like they didn't have the staff to do it, gave me the name of 2 companies that maybe could....called one who said they didn't have the employees to do it either.....the other never called me back. The employees at Raupp acted like I had the plague or something, it was really rude and unprofessional. Told me to come back in a few months and MAYBE they could help me, they might have more stock. I went to Ruhlig, where they actually acted like they wanted my business and even held shrubs for me until the landscaper could pick up for me. Hired Estes Lawn Scapes to install the shrubs. Although he was short-staffed, too, he worked in my small job....so I recommend him. And I ended up replacing 2 more shrubs. I really don't know how some places (like Raupp) stay in business with their attitude toward customers. read more

Got in contact with Eric (owner, I guess) about yard work to be done on Aug. 1, 2016, he stated that he will get to it on Aug. 9, 2016. The 9th comes and goes with no call and no show, called multiple times between my wife and I, still nothing. Aug. 10, 2016 same thing, my wife calls the office and they informed us that it was scheduled for the fall. This is not what Eric told me on the 1st. I don't care what kind of schedule you might have there is always time to get in contact with a customer to inform them of any changes. Very unprofessional, if this is how you treat new customers with an opportunity for many new referrals, I don't want to know how you are with existing ones, if you have any! read more

Went in to buy some landscaping rock, a young nice gentleman helped out and proceeded to load it in my truck bed via front end loader. The only problem was that there were spikes on the front end loader & he dented in my tail gate pretty good trying to set the pallet down. As mad as I was I kept my cool b/c I knew it was an accident. The owner came out and told me that it was my fault b/c I shouldn't have loaded rock in such a nice truck. After a verbal altercation he offered me 10% off which I denied. The owner is an ass, I will never shop here again. They don't care about customers property. Nor do they give a crap about their customers. Let this be a lesson. read more

I went to Raupp looking for trees to replace some I had lost in a storm. When I asked about natives I was asked to wait for someone whom I suppose is their tree person. The lady that I spoke with recommended a Cleveland pear. Guess she's not aware that tree is from Viet Nam and Ohio wildlife area is sadly being invaded by this species. She also suggested a maple. Arborist and environmentalist have been asking people to not plant maples as they are trying to restore a natural diversity in the state. I left and went to Schoedels. They were very informative. As i described the location i wanted to plant at, they were ready with recommendations and very knowledgeable. A river birch, sweetgum, and service berry bush were purchased, soon to be planted. Go to Schoedels. No fancy brick walkways. Just tree people. read more

I purchased an Ivory Silk Tree at $240.00 and a few yards of top soil for about $120.00, I had Raupp brothers plant the tree for me so there wouldn't be any question on weather I did it correctly or not, after 3 weeks the tree began dropping it's leaves, and I took a sample of the leaves and some pictures to them because I was concerned the tree was dying, the woman behind the desk at the office gave me every excuse under the sun and we agreed I would give another month to see if the tree improved ( IT DIDN"T ) my wife returned with more pictures of the tree almost bear of leaves and looking dead, then this woman behind the desk Dark hair asked if we purchased a warranty, ( this was never mentioned during the purchase and nowhere are there signs on even on the sales paper work does it mention a warranty, I typically buy all my trees and plant from Gorham and sons and have never had an issue with exchanging a plant or tree that died, so now I have to go through the grief of taking these people to court to get satisfaction.
