Such a treat to find this place in Port Huron. Close to the water in the downtown area. The Raven has an extensive food as well as drink menu. There's open seating up and downstairs. Our server was amazing especially with how busy they were. The Bloody Mary was excellent. Perfect amount of spice. I got the bon bon olive feta melt with turkey. It was so good. Melted feta and provolone cheese with black and green olives, red onion and green pesto on an olive baguette. Delicious. My friend got the Maelstrom salad with turkey, cranberries, Gorgonzola and bacon along with the lobster bisque which was delicious. All the dishes we saw looked amazing. I wish I could have tried dessert but I was stuffed. Definitely worthy of the drive there.

    Mushroom Brie Soup.

The decor was cool with the books sheleves. But the service was terrible. When I enetered I saw the sign with the availble soups. But the wiatress confidently told me that they only had the soups listed on the menu, until I took a picture of the board, and she asked kinda rudely if I wanted to change my order. But no aknoledgment of her error. I aksed about the total amount of soup in the sampler versus the meal size because i was hoping to try different soups as my meal. But no one could tell me other than by usig their hands how big the portions were. I ordered the mushroom brie soup. It was bland. Icould not detect the Brie from the cream that was added and based on the brown color there likely wasn't much brie. It was very salty to the point that I couldn't eat much of it.

I've stopped in for coffee a few times but recently went and ate here with my siblings. You get to pick your own table/spot. So many great food and drink options. Our server was great and patient with our somewhat quirky group. I love all the books and comfy couches.

Went here to grab a quick coffee and appetizer to go. The ambiance and whole vibe of this restaurant is truly one of a kind. Not only the exterior but the interior was extremely detailed and unique. I ordered the milky way iced and the spinach and artichoke dip. Both came out fast for them being pretty much full. The milky way was extremely light and could barely taste the coffee flavor. I will admit i like very strong coffee. The whipped cream made up for it being thick and tasty. I did not try the spinach and artichoke dip but my friend said it is the best she's had! Overall the drinks were okay. I would recommend ordering an extra shot of espresso in it if you wanted a more coffee based drink. Will be back to try more food next time I'm in town!

Raven Café is such a unique spot. The moment you walk in, the shelves full of books and the cozy wooden interior give off real HARRY POTTER VIBES--like stepping into a storybook. The place was packed when we visited, so service was a little slow, but the staff was friendly and kept things moving as best they could. We tried the coffee, which was rich and flavorful, perfect for the atmosphere. Definitely more than just a coffeehouse--it feels like a mix of library, café, and art space all in one. Worth a visit if you're in Port Huron.

I saw the rave reviews and figured I'd stop here for coffee and lunch. Seat yourself and check out the drink and food menu already at the table. I enjoyed a 20-ounce Nutty Irishman latte for a warm-up. I then chose a bowl of the lobster bisque soup, which was one of nine soups available but average. My entree was a delicious Pit and Pendulum grilled Reuben with homemade potato salad and a dill pickle. The lure to this eclectic place is the presentation. It is based on "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe. There are bookshelves, bizarre artwork, and interesting figures. There is two-story seating with a rear balcony. Friendly but non-attentive service, as I had to ask for water refills and she left all the used dishes at my single table to maneuver around. There is a full espresso bar, eight rotating microbrews, a cocktail lounge, sandwiches, salads, nine soups, free Wi-Fi, breakfast, and live music. Shirts, hats, mugs, and more are available for purchase. The staff and environment exude a Seattle coffee house vibe. I want to return in the summer to examine more of the artwork on the wall and maybe sit outside.

Super cute! Loved all the books from owners personal library as decor. Upstairs was lovely. Enjoyed the Doctor Who Tardis door :) The bloody mary was delicious and cappuccino hot and strong! We enjoyed our sandwiches. Service was fast. Cant wait to come back!

This is my fave spot in Port Huron now! They get 5 stars for the ambience and service for sure- very welcoming and comfortable to everyone My go to is a Chiller- I like the matcha with coconut- it's just a hint sweet- like a healthier milkshake The soup/salad combo is affordable, very good and can be super healthy depending on the combo you choose- I liked the black bean soup Lots of art, gifts, coffee, matcha, etc for sale so you can come in and just shop also

We are regulars at this establishment and they do a great job with their coffee drinks and food. We really enjoy the hummus sandwich and we usually get a side of potato chips to dip in our tomato basil soup. They were not very busy and they had live music tonight. The service is great and we usually get our food in a reasonable amount of time. It is a coffee shop so it has a very casual atmosphere and a relaxed vibe. Sit, read a book, and enjoy the overall experience. Don't be in a rush. We will return to this restaurant again.

The second time I came with some coworkers and I had one of the margaritas. It had pineapple juice in it, but I can't remember what it was called... It was just recommended by the server and she was definitely on the nose with that one. Taquitos are good; I liked the beef over the chicken. And I had the salmon plate when I came back I don't know if I would get it again, it was just OK and I don't know if it was worth the price. Overall a very fun place to eat, top-tier for Sarnia. Good vibes, good drinks, good food, great service! Just a little more on the expensive side for someone on a student budget

I'm not sure which aspect of this experience was worse--the food, the drinks, or the service…read more We arrived at about 7:30pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant was nearly empty, though it didn't close for a few more hours. We seated ourselves and waited. And waited. After about 15 minutes, a server shows up and gives us menus. We looked over the drink and dinner menus and made our selections--but they weren't going to be taken for nearly 30 minutes. We placed our drink orders (classic margarita and the La Paloma). After 15 more minutes, our drinks arrived. The drinks were mediocre--at best. The classic margarita was essentially a glass of lime juice with half a shot of tequila; the Paloma was the same, but with grapefruit juice. $12 CDN each. The next time we saw our server was another 15 minutes later when our chips and guacamole arrived. The chips were nice and salty; the guacamole portion was extraordinarily small (about an ice cream scoop size) for $10 CDN. With the arrival of the guacamole, we were finally able to place our meal order. They were out of chicken, so we settled on two crispy pork belly tacos, one carne asada taco, and a pescado taco. $6 CDN each. A full thirty minutes later, our food had not yet arrived. Our drinks were empty (there was only one other party in the restaurant at this time). I walked to the bar with my empty glasses to place two more drink orders: the passion cocktail (tequila, banana, cranberry, and orange were supposed to be the primary flavors) and the Envy (a margarita with blue curaçao). At this point of the evening, it's now nearly 9:15PM. We've been in the restaurant for over an hour. Our second order of drinks and 4 tacos finally arrive. Gross is all I can say. - All tacos shared the same stale-tasting, rusty cabbage. It's like the half-off prepackaged slaw mix you buy at the grocery store tossed with a light vinaigrette. - The fish tasted... fishy. Fishy tasting fish is never a good sign. I probably should have looked at the crowd and determined that there wasn't enough turnover to order the fish. Two bites and I tap out on the fish taco. - The carne asada was not that. Instead of being the traditionally marinated and grilled strips of steak that I'm used to at other restaurants, it was essentially stringy, water-logged pot roast. - The pork belly tacos were neither crispy nor flavorful. They tested more like baked pork chop with a hint of bacon. They were dressed with the same slaw mixture as the other tacos. After tasting the Passion cocktail, we asked the waitress if there had been an error. Banana has an unmistakeable taste; the lack of it is quite noticeable. Cranberry juice is red. The fact that this drink was neither reddish-pink or had even the faintest hint of banana told us otherwise. It was the same drink as "the classic." The Envy was at least blue. It was undrinkable, but the color was at least correct. After nearly 2 hours of waiting and shit service, we paid and left nearly all our food uneaten. We walked around the corner to Bad Dog and had a second dinner.

I made the reservations because the website indicated that they would be needed. We arrived at 7:20 PM, and we were greeted by a very frantic host, who, without skipping a beat, turned to us and said that if we didn't have reservations, they didn't have any availability because they were completely booked. I indicated that we did. He cleared a table for us, and we were sat at exactly 7:30 PM, which is pretty much the only good thing that happened. Oh, and the restaurant was decorated nicely for the holiday. It was 10 minutes before our server came to our table. She had to stop at another table occupied by friends and have a conversation first before acknowledging us. She took our drink order, returned with the drinks, and then disappeared for another 15 minutes, like I didn't see her on the floor, and I could see the whole restaurant. Upon her return, we indicated that we wanted to start with a couple of appetizers. Each time we asked for something, her answer was, "we're out." They should have estimated how many patrons they would have based on the required reservations and had enough stock prepped. Unacceptable. I looked at her a bit confused, and she says, "well, it's 8 o'clock." Now, it wasn't the phrase; it was her tone, like there was a silent "dumba**" she was holding back. So, at that point, I was done. We kindly asked to pay for our drinks, and we left. Look. I worked in the business for almost 20 years. Your restaurant has about 15 tables-give or take. You had 3 servers, a bartender, and a host/busser and service was that poor? Come on! Additionally, who uses snark with a customer? You need to train your staff to be more efficient. If you need help, let me know; I can consult. Maybe we will try again on a different day, but given that the consistent criticism of the service in the reviews, I'm not promising anything. No pictures because we never got to the point of ordering food.
