We were truly looking for a redemptive food experience today. We've been less than pleased with many places closer to home. VT came through with flying colors today. We had the whole roasted Russian River Trout and Teriyaki beef tips. Started with the warm marinated olives. I'm very objective and have to say the trout was the most superb meal I've had this year away from home. I had to ask how they sourced the fish because I was amazed at how clean, fresh, and flavorful it was. We are both lifelong foodies and skilled cooks so the whole dish service was exciting and not commonly done. The staff were also handling a wedding on the rooftop, but service was excellent regardless. Our waitress really listened to everything we said and ensured our food was served as we preferred. I was also pleased that we're were able to move to an acceptable table away from foot traffic. I would have been bumped on repeat otherwise with the wedding guests coming down. Great food, great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable service, clean restaurant with clean restrooms. Which means the kitchen is also very likely to be clean. Nothing overpowering or obnoxious like music or room temperature. All is very comfortable and inviting with a good view of the river. We have reviewed this restaurant many times. This is a review just to say it once again how great their food is here. We had our traditional favorites. We tried two new dishes today. The garden party salad and the crème brûlée. Both were spectacular. We still love their vegetarian highlights here and hope they keep many on the menu. The service staff is nothing but spectacular as well. The overall vibe here is cozy in their booths. We will return again. read more

This place was fantastic. Really interesting historic building with cool decor and a great bar. Parking nearby. Menu with something for everyone; classic options along with some different, more adventurous stuff if so inclined. I enjoyed my halibut, as well as the salmon I had a few bites of -- it was perfectly cooked. I was super impressed with the risotto. Awesome flavor and the chicken was so well-seasoned. They have a solid cocktail list here, too. Friendly service and great food will have us coming back to try more! Our only gripe was that the olives appetizer should come with more bread :P read more

Loved our dining experience. We were greeted and seated pretty quickly even though the restaurant was hopping. Beautiful abiance. Our server recommended The Crimes of Passion cocktail for me and my husband ordered the Vintage Whiskey Sour. DELICIOUS! The cocktails are reasonably priced so we had a second. We ordered some starters the focaccia and salmon spread. The focaccia came out hot and tasted amazing. The salmon spread was so delicious, we even convinced our thirteen year old grand daughter to try it, big mistake she gobbled half of it. Our dinner order included the fresh halibut and it was prepared prefectly and tasted amazing. The staff are attentive and don't make you feel rushed. After seeing good reviews and getting local recommendations, I stopped by here for a solo business lunch and seated myself in the upstairs open-air area. Numerous tables along the railing were reserved, but I was able to locate an open table. I ordered the salmon dip and crackers for an appetizer and the BLT with Gouda from the limited but well-discounted happy hour menu. The salmon dip came out after my entree, but it was still enjoyable, with plentiful cool, fresh dip and crispy, fresh crackers. The BLT + G sandwich was delicious, but the hand-cut French fries had some soggy ones. Low top bar and booth seating. Full bar upstairs/ downstairs and restrooms upstairs/downstairs. Great views with a fresh breeze. Excellent, friendly service. Lovely table setting with linen-like paper napkins. I'm super glad this place has a new owner. It's breathing some fresh new life into this place. The food was delicious and I'll be back to try some more. Can't complain about much of our experience. Only complaint is the duck and really that's just a personal preference. I'm not a fan of the half duck with a leg and thigh. It's just too hard to eat. Especially in an upscale environment. The flavor was definitely on point. Very well balanced and a very generous portion. Whenever I'm in town, I truly love visiting this establishment not only do they have vegan options. The staff is always incredibly friendly. I do love the rustic feel of the establishment. Now from what I observed, when you first entered the establishment there is a set of stairs, which, if you are someone who is wheelchair-bound or who uses a walker this may be difficult however they may be another entrance to get to the upper level. I didn't see a elevator, but it looks like there is stairs. However, once you get to the main level, it's wheelchair accessible. For my dining experience today I opt it for the vegan sweet potato croquettes. The brussels sprouts were absolutely delicious and I opted for a side of asparagus, absolutely divine. read more

Whenever you travel to Port Huron, this is a must-good restaurant. The decors inside is vintage like the name, but the must see is the view from the rooftop dining area. Not only is there a beautiful view but the drinks and good are made well also. The service this time was fast and the prices is within reason. read more

Absolutely outstanding! What a great location with a beautiful deck, which is our preferred seating area when the weather is nice. The service is outstanding with knowledgeable and friendly staff who can walk you through the menu and take you on a tour of flavor experience to help you order! But obviously the star is the food. I have the ratatouille which is absolutely phenomenal... especially with the steak bites added! Although I think I would've prepared it with the chicken. People underestimate the power of ratatouille, but the Chef understood the assignment and created the absolutely most perfect ratatouille I've ever had. It's one of my most favorite dishes and is not often found on menus so when I see it, I get it... And this hit all the notes. Although it's a peasant dish from France, it's elevated in the most spectacular ways based on Chef's preparation. We had never been here before so was hoping for a good dinner. Don't go on Monday night. They tell you it will be 30 minutes, closer to an hour. I guess one chef on Mondays. My daughter ordered a salad with her meal and it never came. Said something to waitress and she apologized and gave the excuse it was Monday. The atmosphere (we had an open air table by the balcony), the service, Jeff's Margarita and the FOOD! We had the crab cakes, shrimp tacos and spare ribs. Everything was totally on point! Fresh, great portions, very reasonably priced for what we got. I would put this place up against some of the really "bougie" places we have been to. Nice, casual atmosphere for summer. Across from the tavern area is free parking. There is open air roof top service. So casual that, napkin and flatware arrived after appetizers were served. Perhaps the server did not notice the empty table. The crab cake was not lump crab. There was plenty of filler and little flavor. The side salad accompanying the crab fresh and delicious. Speaking with other patrons, should have had the mushroom risotto. Sounded flavorful. Instead the salmon with flavored rice and asparagus were all under seasoned. Highly recommend reservations (as it makes getting seated very easy). Prices are reasonable given the quality. It's not perfect dining, but it's certainly the best value to quality of downtown Port Huron. Drinks are excellent. Food was cooked correctly. Absolutely loved this place - I cannot recommend enough. We were in Port Huron for a day and a half and decided to eat here twice. Beautiful atmosphere and the staff were so great! The champagne chicken and blueberry lavender faux-jito were phenomenal and I would absolutely get again. I would pass on the Brie/fruit board (was alright but not exceptional) and creme brûlée (was deep and cold which is not my personal preference for the dish). The servers were patient as we walked our guests through the language barrier. Beautiful restaurant, very nice folks and very good food. We started with the dill pickle soup and I highly recommend it. It was creamy, it was briny, and it was delicious. The Brussels sprouts needed some salt but the sweet potato cakes that came with it were excellent. On to the main course, my wife got the Cajun tortellini and I went with the jambalaya. My biggest gripe with anyone calling a dish Cajun is that there isn't anything Cajun about it. It wasn't the least bit spicy; but I'm not saying that it wasn't a very good dish. It was really good, just not Cajun. The jambalaya was great, lots of flavor, very tasty. We had a great dinner here overall and look forward to our next stop in the future. read more

The Appetizer was awesome! Sweet potato, Brussel sprouts, and apples... what great combination! Absolutely loved it! The service was great, speed of food delivery was spot on. My only complaint is for such expensive food, the ribeye was extremely lack luster. I could taste the grill lines, being the only flavor. Same with the vegetable and mashed potato sides, all just extremely plain. It's highly possible that the kitchen ran out of salt, and forgot to mention it to anyone. Otherwise the atmosphere was nice, good piano player, and the beer was cold. Just not a highly recommendable place based on my meal. read more
