Great atmosphere and decor, great food, friendly service. We had potato pancakes with corned beef and cabbage served with applesauce and sour cream, sweet potato fries on the side, and the potato leek soup was great too. Just needed more potatoes in it. ;) Will be back to try bangers and mash and the Scottish eggs!. We took home the bread pudding, it is AMAZING. Has walnuts and a sweet syrup on it, served warm with ice cream. Please make your mouth happy and try it. It's a nice place in downtown Port Huron, but like much of the town, needs updating. The food is good, middle of the menu fare, and prices are reasonable (for 2025)...there's entertainment on various days of the week, too. Beer selection is better than you'd expect as well. Every town should have an Irish pub, and this town is no different. Lynch's Irish Tavern is exactly what I was looking for, and during Restaurant Week. We arrived during happy hour, and I was interested in the menu to see what kinds of appetizers to order, alone with the drinks we started as well before the hour slipped away. I had a frozen strawberry margarita, and it was spot on. Unbeatable price ! Our server did a spectacular job explaining the specials. I was pleased with the cheese sticks and delicious jalapeño poppers; they were just enough food and drink to taste and experience the tavern. Service and atmosphere are great. The food... Now here's the problem. The Steak and Cheese Sandwich was very dry, and didn't have much flavor. The Shepard's Pie was simply... awful. It's supposed to be a thin layer of crispy mashed potatoes over a thick layer of lamb, gravy, peas, carrots and onions. But this? It was nothing but an oval ramekin of mashed potatoes with a few bits of filling mixed in, with a drizzle of gravy sprinkled on top. Very bland, no flavor at all. I paid $22 for this slop. We stopped for a late dinner after arriving in town and what a treat! The place wasn't busy at all, which normally isn't a great omen but the food was amazing. Fried pickles were crunchy and piping hot. My husband had a burger and waffle fries that he verbalized multiple times was "amazing." I had the fish and chips with a side of mac and cheese. That mac and cheese was easily the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Not to mention our server was quick, attentive, and so sweet. Drinks were never empty and she was by often to check on us. My Brother had a ribeye with loaded baked potato, mac and cheese, and a salad. It didn't look like he put a dent in it, but he was stuffed (and enjoyed the leftovers later!). First let me say the place is very nice - clean and modern, and the service was good. But the food was lacking. Most of us ordered the Reubens and they are served on thick marble bread. Ours were served with all the meat clumped in the center of the sandwich leaving no meat at the edges. If they are going to kinda skimp on the meat, I'd rather see it served on thinner bread. We did have someone order the corned beef dinner with potato pancakes which was a disappointment. The beef was tough and our server told us they ran out of cabbage (5pm on a Saturday). He did offer some items to replace and coleslaw was chosen and it was very good. The potato pancakes just looked like and tasted like shredded breakfast potatoes formed into a circle. What a pleasant surprise! Around this area, Irish pub generally means bar food and not much different atmosphere. Not the case here! Irish draught beers and a good amount of inspired food offerings fill the menu. The food is delicious too! Best fried pickle app I've ever had. We had just stopped in for a light bite before grocery shopping, but I'm excited to return for a full meal. Refused to sit me in one of 3 available booths. Said I had to take a table. As a single, senior citizen I do not feel comfortable sitting in the open. The hostess said to sit wherever I choose. But after waiting in a booth for 15 minutes, one of the staff finally came over to bus the booth. She told me I could not sit there, I had to sit at a table. There were 3 tables for 4-6. If it was space what is the difference? I politely left and went elsewhere. I won't be back. And I won't return with friends or family either. This was my husband and I's first time ever eating at the tavern and it was DELICIOUS! Before our entrees we had the friend pickles and the stout onion soup, both incredible. I got the potato pancake dinner with corned beef and cabbage. The corned beef was probably the best I've ever had, so tender and flavorful. The cabbage was fresh and the pancakes were amazing. My husband got the pub sandwich which was equally delicious! We also got in dessert with the chocolate lava cake and even though I was stuffed and thought I'd only have a couple of bites, we gobbled it up, it was so amazing! What a beautiful atmosphere and re-model job. There was quite a crowd for a one o'clock Wednesday lunch downtown. They were busy and it took a while for a waitress to notice us, but when she did she was very friendly and apolegetic. The music was too loud for lunch chit chat with my mom and our friend. We had to holler a bit to hear each other. I understand loud music for the night time bar crowd, but appreciate a quieter level for lunch. I hope they will adjust that. I ordered the Corned Beef and Cabbage and a cup of the Potato-Leek Soup. The soup arrived in a coffee mug and was very hot and tasty. The broth was easy to sip from the mug after the potato slices were gone. It warmed me up. My meal arrived with thinly sliced corned beef on top of cabbage pieces. It came with sliced carrots on the side... MASSIVE sliced carrots on the side. I don't know if they always serve them like these... but these carrots were BIG. They were sweet and cooked just right. I enjoyed the carrots most of all actually. The Corned Beef and Cabbage was kind of bland. Not much seasoning at all. I'm probably just partial to my own way of cooking it. Low and slow in the oven with plenty of spices. If I decide to head back for more soup and carrots someday, I'll probably try something else to go with them. read more

While in the area coincidentally on St. Patrick's Day, we stopped here for dinner so I could have an excuse to drink tons of green beer. It was early in the evening; it wasn't busy but was filling up fast. Our server was very prompt, friendly, was quick to explain menu items, and deliver beer. We both ordered the chicken wing meal, which came with soup (for her), salad (for me), fries, and at least 10 wings each. The meal was substandard. I was very hungry so ignored the fact that the wings were extremely dry and small. The meal wasn't very filling at all, but it was priced pretty good. Our bill was $40, and we were in and out in about an hour. We observed some other patrons eating and wished we had ordered what they did since our meal really wasn't that good. This is a pub I typically only go to when certain friends want to go out to eat downtown and I get outvoted. It's not that the food is bad. It's ok. Ok burger, ok rueben , ok appetizers, ok staffing. Nothing special. It's the pretentious beer snobs that carry on about their astute knowledge of craft beers as they are practically falling over drunk at the bar that annoy the crap out of me. And one of the older bartenders seemed like he was drunk as well last time I was in. The vendor that comes in for some of the beers is actually pretty reasonable to speak with. I know some of the past staff and the owner is unkind and seemingly only interested in our money. I don't drink as much (a beer or two now and then) so it is not my favorite hangout. And it is loud in there. But I do like the look inside. If anything, it has a real Irish pub feel to it and is pretty spacious. But I am not going to a pub just for internal aesthetics. Connor Street Pub, though several miles outside downtown, has been more enjoyable for me in both food quality and service. Lynch's tries to be different but is just another downtown yuppy hangout that underwhelms. read more

Went here for dinner Wednesday night. First impression is very neat decor. At first the waitress said they didn't have a gluten free menu. Then my wife said on yelp it says you do, so she said she would ask the " chef". When she came back she had an actual written list of what we could get that would be gluten free. NOW that didn't seem to hard did it!!! What a novel IDEA!!! So I got a Black and Tan burger. It has bacon, a jalapeño , breaded onion chips and a house BBQ sauce made with Guinness. It was very good. I also had shoe string fries they too were very good. She had Seared Salmon, colcannon and coleslaw. All were good. To drink I had a Tito's and soda, she had a Long Island. Both were good. I came here two Saturdays ago with a group of four other people. We sat at a booth on the main floor area. They had someone playing live music toward the front of the restaurant. However, most people had their eyes glued to the TVs - Valverde had just blown a save (shocking) and it was a tie game in the 9th. We sat there for about 10 minutes. We weren't even addressed by a waitress. There were other waitresses working on other tables right next to us. I don't know if they thought the other person had us or what, but no one ever came over. We left before the game was even over. We'd planned on ordering drinks and food (one of our friends had just gotten off his shift and was starving, and the rest of us were going to get some appetizers) but left hungry and thirsty. I'd like to try and give this place a rating, but this is twice now that I've been completely unable to because I have absolutely nothing to go on...except the service, which is nonexistent. read more

After three visits over a span of 2 years, it's time for a review. I have only ever drank here and here's my take on this "Irish tavern" My 1st visit was the best b/c we (party of 4) sat at the bar and the bartender seemed to have a good handle of the crowd- I enjoyed my glass of wine Visit # 2 my friend and I went for wine and would have loved to have two glasses but the waiter never came back to ask if we were doing okay or wanted anything else- just showed up w/ the bill Visit # 3 was 2/9/14 around 7- the server had absolutely no personality and she was clearly not suited to be dealing w/ the public that evening. She was snippy whenever my boyfriend tried to joke w/ her and didn't smile- not even once- too bad her sour attitude affected her tip. Are people really that stupid to think that you can treat customers (who tip nicely) crappy and expect a good tip? The only redeeming qualities were that my boyfriend ordered the Irish nachos and liked them, my glass of wine was good and the others in the party liked their beers. I went there years ago when they first opened and I loved it. It'd visit at least once a month, food and service were fantastic. It's been slowly going downhill with first the food becoming very hit or miss and then the service started to slip. Their cooks and bartenders have moved on. Whoever made the original menu and some of the better ideas on the drink menu, either moved on or ran out of ideas. Food is really bad now. Everything I order has something off about it. The time before last I was solicited by ladies of the night out front. Even after I asked them to remove them. Tonight I asked for a bloody mary, which was ghastly. I went up to the "bartender" to get a different drink. He proceeded to take a drink of it(health code violation) and told me it tasted like a bloody Mary to him and said he made it and said if I wanted a different drink to take it up with my server. Wow!. Things got heated from there and eventually I went back to my table, All the while this douchebag had a grin on his face. Trying to salvage a good night from that horrible "bartender/douchebag" we proceeded to eat our food and knowing they were in the wrong left me alone, again food was bad. Then I looked up to see him talking crap to his co workers AND the owner! The owner walked by and I made a comment and they had me removed. The "security" they had the whole time saw all of this and apologized profusely and proceeded to tell me that the bartender in question has caused issues like this in past all the while even during my removal. First time I've ever been removed from a bar in my 32 years on this earth. The whole while threatening to call the cops even though they were in the wrong. What a joke. If I ever see that pussy behind the bar he better have more than a grin. Garbage! Pure shit! read more
