John is the best in the business, relying solely on his ear (rather than electronics), which is the only way to ensure proper intonation and that my piano is performance ready. I've recommended John to numerous pianists around town, and they all agree: nobody does the job better. You'd expect John to charge a premium for being the most renowned expert technician in Las Vegas. He doesn't. His prices are incredibly fair. He does his job out of sheer passion for the craft, not to enrich himself. As a result, I don't hesitate a second to pass along his name to anyone with a piano in need of a phenomenal tuning. There's no one else worth considering in Las Vegas, as far as I'm concerned.

A good thing to keep in mind: a piano that is tuned regularly will be more affordable to tune than one that has been neglected for a long time. John is very fair with his rates, and upfront about advising case by case. I've known John for years, and can attest to the thousands of pianos he's serviced. There's a reason the pros call him for concerts, parties, soirées, etc. Little fun fact: pianos are not perfectly in tune. Because of this, the best a piano will sound is by being tuned by ear by a highly skilled tuner. John is one such. Give him a call and hear the difference.

I was referred to David by Eric from The Careful Move (piano movers), as he highly recommended David, when I mentioned I had had horrid experiences with judge-y, catty, "too good for this piano" piano tuners in the past. You see... I PREFER antique pianos with a BOLD sound-- A rollicking ragtime piano from a 1900-1930s beer hall is MY KIND OF PIANO. And of course, like any barfly, some "unpolished" grit and character may also come along for the ride sound (or feel)wise . ... I will most likely never opt for Steinway, even if it is handed to me. Carnegie Hall aspirant I am not. My current piano is a 1934 Monarch (Baldwin) grand, and it has LIVED. There's some scuffs, even a leg that was mended... but what a powerfully rich sound in all registers! David, though experienced and certified for Steinways, immediately "got me" and understood my piano's quirks. He took his time, giving it a deep clean inside ("blow/suck/blow"), tuning it, discussing some of its idiosyncrasies and possible options for long-term maintenance, polishing and buffing the outside, and even providing me with links for piano polishes so that I could maintain my piano until the next tuning appointment. Doctors are less thorough with annual physicals. My piano should have it so good. My calendar has been marked for the next tuning. If I don't somehow persuade David and his wife to hire a babysitter so they can come over for Boardgame Night before then!

I actually avoided this company at first because the "affordable" put me off. I like to save money and everything but my piano has massive intrinsic value for me and I'll pay top dollar for it to be safely moved and set up. When I couldn't get a call back and since I was on a tight schedule I called folded and tried Affordable. Winston picked up, answered my 49 questions and was actually able to move me that very day. He was communicative and took very good care of my baby. There was even follow up and helpful conversations that followed. I will absolutely be using him and his company again. If I could give more than 5 stars I would - he totally deserves it.

A Life-Changing Musical Journey for Our 5-Year-Old Daughter…read more I cannot recommend Las Vegas Voice and Piano highly enough! As parents, we had absolutely no experience with music education and weren't sure what to expect when we enrolled our 5-year-old daughter just four months ago. She came in as a complete beginner--couldn't read a single note, had no concept of rhythm or counting, and had never touched a piano. Today, she's confidently playing songs independently, reading music fluently, and has developed a genuine passion for music that brings our whole family joy. From the very first lesson, Michael and Marta welcomed our entire family--my husband, our daughter, and myself--into their beautiful, professional home studio with such warmth and genuine care. They treated our daughter not just as a student, but as a young musician with unlimited potential. Their teaching approach is the perfect blend of patience, structure, and encouragement that has allowed our daughter to flourish beyond our wildest expectations. The progress we've witnessed in just four months is nothing short of extraordinary. Our daughter now reads music notation with confidence, understands rhythm and counting, knows all the piano keys by heart, and can play most songs completely on her own. Watching her sit at the piano and work through pieces independently--something that seemed impossible just a few months ago--brings tears to my eyes. Her technical foundation is remarkably solid for such a young beginner, which speaks volumes about the quality of instruction she's receiving. One of the proudest moments of our lives was watching her perform in her first recital. The confidence she displayed on stage, the poise in her playing, and the pure joy on her face throughout her performance--that was all thanks to Michael and Marta's nurturing guidance and belief in her abilities. They prepared her not just musically, but emotionally, helping her feel ready and excited rather than nervous. What truly sets this studio apart is Michael and Marta's teaching philosophy. They are incredibly patient, never rushing through concepts but ensuring our daughter truly understands each element before moving forward. They're steady and consistent, providing the structure that young learners need while making each lesson engaging and fun. Most importantly, they're genuinely encouraging--celebrating every achievement, no matter how small, and turning mistakes into learning opportunities rather than sources of frustration. We've watched our daughter blossom before our eyes in ways that extend far beyond music. Her confidence has soared, her focus and discipline have improved, and she's discovered a creative outlet that she truly loves. She now asks to practice daily and gets excited about her weekly lessons. This transformation in such a short time is honestly incredible and is a testament to Michael and Marta's exceptional teaching abilities. If you're looking for music instruction for your child--whether they're a complete beginner like ours was or have some experience--Las Vegas Voice and Piano is the perfect choice. Michael and Marta's dedication, expertise, and genuine love for teaching create an environment where children don't just learn music; they develop a lifelong appreciation for it. Thank you, Michael and Marta, from the bottom of our hearts. You've given our daughter an invaluable gift that she'll carry with her throughout her life. We're so grateful to have found you and look forward to many more years of musical growth under your guidance!
