My wife and I had the privilege of staying at this lovely B&B for four nights during a "quieter" time in February. Our host, Pauline, was wonderful from start to finish: she met us at the door for check in, consistently offered insight and tips that made our Port Townsend experience twice as lovely, and cooked absolutely delicious breakfast dishes each and every day. (My wife isn't a breakfast fan usually, but she flat out REFUSED to miss one of Pauline's meals. That's how good they were.) We stayed in the Admiralty Suite, which featured a comfy King size bed, soaking tub, dual shower, multiple seating areas, and a very handy espresso maker. There was also a wonderful Dyson fan and a fireplace in the room, so you will absolutely be able to find the *perfect* temperature for your sleeping preferences. Pauline was also incredibly thoughtful with her breakfast menus, ensuring that I'd have options to work around my fish and nut food allergies. Note: these weren't "replacement" options -- she straight up adjusted her meal prep to ensure I'd have the exact same experience as the other guests. Above and beyond, truly. The property itself is immaculately kept, the innkeepers are incredibly thoughtful, and the whole experience is nothing short of a treat. Worth every penny. read more

The Ravenscroft is an annual favorite for us. It's a great jumping off point for exploring Port Townsend and the surrounding region. It includes a marvelous breakfast, evening snacks, full use of the fridge for any leftovers you might bring back. The rooms are modern, comfortable and well appointed. We park our car and walk everywhere for the weekend while we are there and just enjoy the small town atmosphere and the lovely grounds. read more

Came by on a Friday in August for the weekend. It had been several years since I was last in Port Townsend and glad to have the opportunity to return. The Inn is a beautiful home situated in a fairly central location within walking distance to the downtown shopping district and the weekend farmers market. We booked a room on the 2nd floor and the views were quite impressive. We shared the balcony with other guests on the floor but this was not an issue with us. Unfortunately the weekend we stayed was a very hot weekend and the lack of air conditioning did make sleeping a challenge. The breakfasts are beautifully presented and nice to have the option for lattes in the morning. The fridge in available to store beverages or leftovers if needed and we loved the freshly made chocolate chip cookies in the evening. The owners, Dave and Carolyn, were very accommodating and allowed us to check in early. They also allowed us to store our bikes in their garage and gave us advice on bike trails, parks and beaches. And just a heads up, the Ravenscroft Inn, like many B&Bs do not have TV's in the rooms nor do they have a common area with TV viewing access. Wifi is available if needed. While B&Bs are not for everyone, if you are looking for a quality B&B in Port Townsend, then look no further than the Ravenscroft Inn. read more

We decided to treat ourselves to a staycation and wow was it a treat! What an exquisite experience with top notch accommodations and luxurious amenities. Five stars for the room, service, communication and food! We were celebrating a birthday and we're treated to a bottle of Champagne upon arrival along with an early check in. Just spent the night here for our 23rd wedding anniversary and it was absolutely wonderful! Our host Pauline was an excellent communicator and greeted us at the door when we arrived. We were immediately offered everything from coffee to shortbread cookies and other snacks. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was quite comfortable. Chocolates on the bed and more cookies next to the coffee machine! Breakfast was also lovely. We had a salmon and goat cheese frittata with roasted potatoes and an apple crumble cake along with yogurt, fresh fruit and granola. The bed-and-breakfast is just a five minute walk to all the downtown has to offer. And Pauline is more than happy to give you a map with suggestions. To be honest, I don't usually love the B & B experience. I typically lean toward either a hotel or a whole house vacation rental. Ravenscroft is an exception and was a much needed getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The rooms are updated and very clean. We loved that Ravenscroft was a quick walk to/from town. We stayed in the Marrowstone room which is a middle room on the second floor. We loved the balcony access (shared between all rooms but each with their own sitting area). Next time I think we'd lean toward a 3rd floor room. We came to PT to visit Soak on the Sound, which I highly recommend. Our favorite meals this time were at the Uptown Pub (seems like a local fave) cocktails at The In Between (incredibly well stocked cocktail bar) and The Old Whisky Meal. Pauline's breakfasts got us off to a great start each day in the bright & warmly welcoming dining room. We also loved the afternoon/arrival snack plate each afternoon. I decided to do a staycation I live in seattle area and had a long weekend to get away nearby. I say this place and feel in love I stayed for the weekend and every second of it was relaxing and peaceful. I know I will be going back. The inn has menus and books of local places to try, its walking distance to almost anything you'll want to see. The rooms are clean and decorated well. They make you breakfast in the mornings and it is local and high quality. Everyone that was at the inn or worked their were extremely welcoming. After writing this it makes me want to go back ASAP. A very special Bed and Breakfast. Husband and I stayed here in June and enjoyed everything about the Inn. The hostess has thought of everything you would need or want while staying there. We were in the Bay Room which had a balcony overlooking the water. Comfortable chairs and chaise to sit on and enjoy the view. Throws were provided to ward off the chill. Morning breakfast was delicious and plenty. You can even watch her make yours in her huge kitchen off the dining area. The house was welcoming and comfortable; not to pretentious but attractively furnished. We just felt comfortable and welcomed. So enjoyed our stay. read more

We arrived most excited for this stay. My husband and I had been traveling all over the area for our first Anniversary. Ravenscroft was supposed to be our "splurge" during our week long trip. Upon arriving, we were greeted very warmly by Tim and Gay. We were shown around by Tim who gave us a rather long list of rules (we could use the fridge, but not the microwave that was sitting on top of it; there would be no refreshments after 7:30pm; no bathing after 11:00pm). Our room was the Rainier. BOY was it smelly! The smell of mildew and dust was overpowering to us. Our sheets did not look washed (very wrinkled, smelled dusty, and had 2 stains). Also, we were given no toilet paper. Large bathroom, but no toilet paper reserves!! We ended up having to ask another couple that night for extras. To top it off, Tim let us know that the fireplace in this room broke the week before. We wish he could have let us know this since the fireplace was a deciding factor between here and another B&B. No discount was offered, nor given. The breakfast, as another has expressed, was very good. The food was presented with what looked like a lot of time and care. Only complaint is that the seating was awkward. There are 5 or 6 small tables in a larger room, so it felt awkward as the other two couples and us silently munched on our food from opposite ends of the room. Tim and Gay do occupy the living room to watch tv and read during the day. No televisions in the rooms, so expect to be on the go, in your room, or sharing the space with the hosts. I would recommend to the hosts: 1. Allow for tea and such after 7:30pm. This is when I like to have tea. Taking it away and having such a rule feels unfriendly. 2. Spruce up the rooms: buy new sheets, invest in some soft robes, and change the carpeting 3. Keep shared spaces such as the library for your guests read more

We do not consider ourselves fans of B&B's, but the Ravenscroft has as well on our way to changing our minds. We were in Port a Townsend for a family celebration last week, and chose the Ravenscroft Inn for our two night stay. We are thinking it's the perfect B&B for us: charming and homey, and modern with the creature comforts we most appreciate. We loved having the refrigerator stocked with soda and water for our use. I loved having access to fresh brewed coffee, any time I wanted it. We enjoyed the cookie every evening too. We stayed in the Baker room, on the top floor. The views from the room are spectacular. The bathroom view to the waterfront will distract you, it is so fine. The bathroom was modern, efficient, and small. It worked well for us, who love showers. The room was quiet, with the fog horns of the ferries in the distance. Location is perfect for exploring the town. You can easily walk to the park, walk downtown, or walk uptown. Breakfast was excellent, and my husband is still talking about the omelette and the scone. We departed early to catch the ferry, and Dave sent us off with a yogurt parfait that was perfect for our foggy morning ferry ride. Find a reason to visit this wonderful inn! read more

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights recently and enjoyed the Inn immensely! We had the Baker room on the 3rd floor and had an amazing view in 2 directions plus a gorgeous sunrise each morning. We had the breakfast platter each morning and there was a nice variety of items that were thoughtfully selected. The Inn is very clean inside and out and furnished tastefully. Our only suggestion would be nightstands by the bed. We would highly recommend staying here as it's much quieter than the hotels down on Water street. We will be back! read more

Yep, fantastic stay. The structure is on the newer side; while you lose some of the charm of staying in a vintage place, convenience and comfort more than make up for it. It's tastefully decorated and everything is immaculate. We were on the third floor, and it was worth the extra expense. Lovely room, BIG in-room spa-style tub, lots of fluffy towels and a couple of robes to match, in-room coffee maker, outdoor table, nice views. Coffee maker in the kitchen area is accessible to guests, and makes a delightful espresso. Yummy cookies, though they ran out. Morning newspapers are provided in the library, it was nice to brew a cup of that rich espresso, then sit in the comfy chairs and enjoy the morning for a while. Breakfast was fresh and wonderful, assortment of carefully prepared, high-quality fruits was my favorite part. We especially liked proximity to downtown and uptown; there's a whole business district up the hill from the main business district that I'd never seen. Every inch is immaculate and stylish, convenient and beautiful. All of the facilities are modern and everything works. The architecture is traditional "real" furniture; the rooms are spacious with lofty ceilings and huge functional windows that frame glorious exposures and views. You won't believe your eyes when you see the open kitchen! Staying at the Ravenscroft is an immersive experience in grace, elegance, and serenity. Try the Fireside Room for splendid views and toasty cozy nights. Do NOT miss the eastern morning skies! Or the deer on the Inn's lawn! Dave, the Innkeeper, is an accomplished and creative chef. We were guests of the Inn for a full week and we did not see the same breakfast twice! Don't miss his lemon ricotta pancakes with berry compote! Or his bacon cheddar waffle! Truth is, each day's breakfast was distinctive, beautifully prepared and served, and simply wonderful eating. Dave and his wife Carolyn are very well-informed on local attractions and sights, and helpful and thoughtful in every way. There is Wi-Fi, a well-stocked library with board games and daily newspapers, guest access to sodas and bottled water -- and Dave makes cookies every afternoon! His Snickerdoodles were simply exceptional. I am of the school that believes that consumer reviews are most credible when they provide some constructive criticism as well as call out the high points. Very nicely located between uptown and downtown. Within walking distance of most everything and a million dollar view from the two decks. This is an extremely nice place. Very neat and tidy. Dave and Carolyn are very attentive to every detail and are very pleasant host. Like another reviewer noted they are very knowledgeable of what Port Townsend has to offer. Take advantage of their knowledge. Dave gave us a tour of all the rooms and there is not a bad room in the place. All laid out nicely for a comfortable stay. The lower room we had was very quiet. The breakfast was 5 star gourmet. The homemade yogurt and granola was delicious. Followed by a very substantial second course. Plenty of coffee and juice to round the morning out. I am giving this place 5 stars as we will be back again. I am worried that the high rating will make it difficult to get rooms but they deserve it. read more

I booked the entire Ravenscroft Inn for all our groomsmen and bridesmaids to stay at over our wedding weekend and could not have been happier with the experience!! Dave was very responsive and helpful throughout the booking process, and he and Carolyn were both incredibly kind and welcoming when we each arrived. With all the last minute components of the wedding set-up taking up our attention over the weekend, it was spectacular to have such a beautiful, clean and relaxing home-base all weekend. Since our friends were in nearly all the rooms, I got to check them all out, and was really impressed with the tasteful decorating in each one. PT can be quite heavy-handed in its Victorian era decor, so it's refreshing to find a tastefully and modestly decorated place to stay!! In addition all the above positives, the Inn is really conveniently located to get to beautiful Chetzemoka Park or a quick walk into downtown. Further, the breakfasts were all delicious. My wife and I enjoyed a trip away from our kiddo and first time ever going to Port Townsend. As my first B&B experience, I was wondering how this would be as I have traveled to hotels all my life. I would have to say the experience was near perfection and I would rather go to this type of quality of B&B than a regular hotel. The home itself was lovely, modernized, but had every charm of a vintage Victorian home. Landscape was perfect, clean and well kept. Inside, there were pieces of artwork that complimented the home (not like it was a place randomly throw a piece on the wall and hopefully it works). We stayed in the fireside room and I would have to say for not having a fireplace, it was nice to have one especially when it was a little colder in the evening. We didn't take advantage of the porch, but the view was awesome and I could see if you sat out there, you could get lost, just relaxing. The breakfast was perfect in portion and taste. Dave is a great chef and they really pride themselves on quality products, sustainable everything, organic everything! Next we stay, we are going to stay here again for sure. I would recommend staying at least 2 to 3 days, we only stayed 1 night because that is all we could get away for! read more

My wife and I have stayed in several wonderful inns and B&Bs on the Peninsula and throughout NW Washington. Ravenscroft Inn is by far the best of the lot. Hands down. The Inn is absolutely immaculate from top to bottom. Our room was in the basement and probably one of the lower-priced rooms. But it was bright and welcoming all the same. It was also cooler than the upstairs which, without air conditioning, was nice on warm summer nights. The Inn was full but absolutely quiet. (but just in case you heard noise, they provide ear plugs!) We enjoyed two breakfasts on our two-night stay. Both were among the best meals we have had either in the US or in Europe. They were that good. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating. They are somewhat reserved but we much prefer that to the overly gregarious folks we sometimes have as hosts. Our bed was comfortable and the room well-appointed. And the WiFi had a strong signal, even in the basement! We will strongly recommend Ravenscroft Inn to our friends. read more

We really enjoyed our recent, and first, stay here. We were in the spacious Fireside room with a lovely peek-a-boo view of the water. All the details and then some are thoughtfully provided for. I'm a real stickler for cleanliness in lodging, and this place is *clean*! We enjoyed the snacks, and fireside chairs and books in the downstairs lounge. The entire place was decorated for the holidays. It felt like we'd landed on a Hallmark movie set. :-) Pauline is wonderful and was able to accommodate my gluten-free requirements with ease. I highly recommend this Inn. We stayed in November, during COVID restrictions and at first we were very nervous about how safe and comfortable we would feel, but as soon as we walked in the door all of our fears faded. Every surface was spotless, clean, and sanitized. They are taking extra precautions to distance guests and we greatly appreciated that. We had no concerns about our safety. Even aside from COVID, this is one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed. The rooms are well accommodated, beautifully decorated, and very nicely insulated. It was so quiet we had to turn on a fan just for a little white noise. We enjoyed the in-room coffee bar and took our drinks out onto the veranda which had a beautiful view of the water and mountains. In the morning we had a five-star breakfast served downstairs (comfortably distanced) that was superb. They also offer in-room breakfast spreads for social-distancing which I thought was a nice option for those less comfortable with being in the dining area. Pauline was kind and accommodating. We have already decided to book another stay next year. This is a true gem. read more

Very nice weekend stay at the Ravenscroft. The entire property was spotless & everything was very, very tidy. The coffee was wonderful and the location was very convenient to all of Port Townsend. We stayed in the Baker Room on the third floor which had great views from every window. It was quiet for the most part, less some door slamming one morning from the other room on our floor. The only very minor negative was the shower in this room is not built for tall people and while it's probably not applicable to 90% of the population, it was not ideal for my 6'4 boyfriend. One suggestion I'd make is to maybe offer (simple) alternative breakfast options? I recognize the effort put into the daily breakfast offerings but maybe just cooked to order eggs for us picky eaters? read more

I have debated about how many stars to give this B&B because our experience was mixed. I decided our overall experience was worth 3 stars. We stayed at The Ravenscroft Inn in the Quincy room for 3 nights. The positives: The innkeepers are courteous and extremely knowledgeable about Port Townsend. Every one of the recommendations they gave us regarding food and entertainment were spot on! They were very helpful in that aspect. The breakfasts were AMAZING! The presentation of the food was spectacular and the taste was superb. The food was always hot and on time and was different every day. The cookies/drinks available in the afternoon were also very good. The inn is decorated nicely (albeit having a slightly worn feel to it) and is situated in an excellent location within easy walking distance (and with a great view) to everything in downtown Port Townsend. The negatives: The innkeepers were not very friendly other than when transacting business. They did not seem interested in getting to know their guests or interacting with them other than provided the services they had agreed to provide. The reason that I am demoting this inn to 3 stars, however, is for the lack of cleanliness. The floor (and indeed the walls) in our bathroom was covered with hair! More hair than I had ever seen on any bathroom floor anywhere! The walls even had some hair on them due to someone blow-drying their hair after a shower. There was a lot of dust throughout the inn. One of the other guests complained that their sheets did not appear clean (although ours seemed fine) and that they were also not given toilet paper in their bathroom. I gave them a roll of ours since the innkeepers had already retired for bed. If The Ravenscroft Inn would raise the level of their housekeeping standards to be in keeping with their breakfasts, I would give them 4 stars. And if they would be a little friendlier and involved with their clientele, this inn would warrant 5 stars. It did not ruin our experience in Port Townsend, but, I would not recommend this B&B to anyone else, nor will we be returning their ourselves. read more

It feels more like you are staying in a relative's home than a B&B. Dave and Carolyn were extremely kind and helpful in directing me to different restaurants and events the town had to offer during my stay. The room I stayed in was very clean and lovely, recently remodeled but done so in a way to reflect the tone of the town. The breakfasts were excellent every day, you could tell Dave really takes pride in his cooking. Homemade cookies and an espresso machine were also available to guests. On the third anniversary of our first date, my boyfriend took me to Port Townsend for snow shoeing, beer touring, and a stay at Ravenscroft Inn. I thought it was just a romantic, spontaneous getaway, but it was also the prelude to him asking me to marry him. If there was ever a doubt in my mind, the Admiralty Suite was the ultimate way to butter me up to a "yes" with its intimate space, giant clawfoot tub and fireplace. Yes, they request you do not use the tub after 11pm due to the loud pipes, but it makes sense - it's a house, not a hotel. And I loved that. I loved the feeling of being a guest. I loved the walls covered in photos of the family. I loved that when we came back from dinner the host and hostess were watching tv in the library. I loved that we had a key to the front door. I loved the open kitchen and morning breakfast with all the guests. and I loved that claw foot tub. read more
