Build your own bowl

I'm not supposed to say this. While in Florence I gorged on gluten free and vegetarian pizza, pasta, tiramisu, chocolate dipped gelato cones, etc- THE DREAM. YET- This place was one of my favorite meals. Maybe because two days in my body was already feeling a vitamin or two might be nice. Maybe it was the cute table outside. Maybe it was the super friendly staff. I don't know but the delicious green smoothie, zucchini cacio e Pepe (CLEVER), and the peanut butter carob cake were most delicious and nourishing. It was the perfect chill evening meal after wandering the Boboli gardens. Pricey? Yes it was. But whatever. Your body will thank you and you can return to pizza tomorrow!

All I wanna do is eat pasta, meat, cheese and drink wine and limoncello in Florence but this place makes it SO much easier to manage the temptation and to eat and drink healthier! They have plenty vegan options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I feel so lucky to be staying so close to this place! It's bright inside and has a 'nature feel' with all the wood, greenery, cute little cacti plants, and, of course, visible fruits and veggies. I come here for juices first thing in the morning and I love their açaí bowl for breakfast. You can choose your own toppings like quinoa, chia seeds, cacao, and coconut. They have cold pressed juices, juice shots, vegan burgers, tacos, wraps, bowls, stews, breakfast toast, and soups. Besides the obvious of having fresh, organic, vegan options, they even have 1, 3, and 5 day juice packages available for you to pick up 5 juices per day when you're ready. I can't tell you how grateful I am for this option. I feel like I have a little vegan angel on my shoulder keeping me on track! The menu is in English, they speak English, and ordering is easy; but if you want to try your Italian, they are patient with you and give you a chance to not be so touristy! This place is so clean, smells great, and has plenty seating-- outside on the patio, inside with bar stools. There's WiFi and a nice seating area in the back to get comfortable and bring your laptop, too. You pay when you order but they bring your food to you. The staff is SO nice and they love their customers and customers love them back. Tourist or not, they treat you with kindness and care about your experience. They are reasonably priced and have so many great options. With so many places to eat and drink in Firenze, this place is definitely worth more than one visit! Just remember, if you're visiting, you can STILL maintain your vegan ways at #RAW!

I might be being generous with 2 stars. I went with a group of about 10 people and no one enjoyed their meal. We got a build your own bowl and a wrap and they were both lacking in flavor and not very good. Some girls did enjoy their juices but that was about it. I really would not recommend or return and was not a fan. It sure does make you feel like eating pasta after though.

#Raw was a great lunch stop during my time in Florence! I'm not vegan, but I am gluten free and dairy free. So sometimes eating vegan happens naturally. I was really impressed with the menu at #Raw. Everything sounded so good! In the end, I went with an acai bowl. I'm glad I did! It was one of the best açaí bowls I've ever had, and that's not an exaggeration. It was creamy, just the right amount of sweet, and the cacao nibs I added to it were perfect (also came with a side of granola). My friends both ordered a wrap that looked incredible as well as matcha lattes. I ended up getting a chai latte to go and it was fantastic! Made from real loose leaf tea (please, more places do this!!) and cashew milk, it definitely hit the spot. The shop itself has a very earthy, natural vibe-- fitting and calming to me. The music choice made my friends and I laugh more than once. It was a random mix but we had a great time with it. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and #Raw really has a lot going for it. I'd happily stop by again!

Located in a hipster area of Florence full of stylish cafes and boutiques, #RAW turns out plates of raw vegan food with a health-conscious bent. The "Raw Made in Italy" was a plate of zucchini noodles mixed with a pesto made of dried tomatoes and basil, and the sauce had a nice balance of sweet, savory, and umami flavors. I was a bigger fan of the Chick Cheese Sandwich, which consisted of a fascinating warm, crumbly, earthy bread made of buckwheat and beets, and a filling of a chickpea flatbread, greens, avocado, and a vegan cheese sauce, which had a surprisingly savory, umami flavor. There were plenty of other appealing creations on the menu, and overall, the food here was definitely tasty and unique, though the menu prices were high for the portion sizes.

While traveling in Florence I was so glad to have found Raw to give my body some much needed veggies after eating ALL the carbs in pastas and pizzas! My friend and I both had the chia pudding one morning to bring with us on an early train. It was a filling breakfast that fueled a long hike! We enjoyed our breakfast there so much that we came again for a lunch- I had the veggie wrap with tahini sauce- it was truly delicious. Double check the hours before you go- it closes at different times throughout the week. Definitely check out Raw for some tasty fresh food options in Florence!

Acai Cream Bowl (€7.50): comes w/granola & choice of toppings -- I chose nectarine, cacao nibs, sultanas (raisins), and shredded coconut

I went here for the first time about a month ago. LOCATION: It's located across the Arno, away from the busier areas of the city, but still not too far of a walk from it all either. 3/5 ATMOSPHERE: It's pretty clean and bright inside. The decor gives me slight tropical vibes. 3/5 SELECTION: It's all raw vegan, which means it's all vegan, and none of the food is cooked over 118 degrees Fahrenheit. They have juices, bowls, and smoothies, as well as regular food items, like wraps, salads, a burger, a pizza, and a few other things. 3/5 WHAT I GOT: I got their "Acai Cream Bowl." It was okay-ish, but definitely more towards the bottom of acai bowls I've had, and I've had a lot. The acai blend was too thin and a little soupy, and it could've been a little colder. Also, the acai flavor wasn't that present either, and it didn't show in the color either -- usually, good acai blends are dark purple, but this was more like light lavender -- which just goes to show they likely don't use much actual acai in their blend, which is kind of disappointing. The granola, however, was fine, as well as the fruit and other toppings, which you get to choose yourself -- I chose nectarine (although it could've been riper and there were some bruises, which kind of turned me off, but I ate it anyways lol), cacao nibs, sultanas (raisins), and shredded coconut. 3/5 SERVICE: The service was okay. The employee who took our order was nice and helpful, but my acai bowl took a long time for some reason. Like, the other people I was with's dishes came out, and then my acai bowl didn't come out until like 15 minutes later, and they were nearly done with their meals. 3/5

If you need a meal that packs a punch of fresh food and veggies, #Raw is the place to go. With WiFi, a decent amount of seating, and an overall clean feeling it's a nice place to spend time. I have had multiple salads, wraps, juices, and smoothies and have been impressed every time. The cold pressed juices, 6€ for a bottle, are my favorite things to pick up from here. The green juice is very good - not too sweet, not too earthy. If you are looking for something sweater, try the pineapple! The staff has been patient and friendly every time I have gone in. It's a health food haven in a country full of carbs!

What a great find! Loved this place. The raw energy bar was extra yummy! Also they make all their own nut milks.

This place rocks!! A vegan, health conscious, gluten free eaters paradise! The staff is super cool and friendly and the food is made with love. I got the spring rolls with matcha nut milk each time I came and was blown out of the water. Also had the peanut butter vegan cupcake and the vegan raw crackers. Everything is raw vegan, gluten free and absolutely delicious.

On vacation and holiday we can forget to juice. I'm so happy I found this wonderful shop. The most amazing juice and products here.

What a full menu of options! Super fresh juice and friendly staff. I'm a former cold press juice employee and I love this shop. Highly recommend.

Vegan burger

Great raw, vegan/vegetarian restaurant. I had been eating so many carbs on my trip to Italy and so raw was exactly what I needed as a break from all of the heavy food. I ended up going twice because I enjoyed it so much. The first time I had the acai bowl and the green juice. They were both amazing and I especially loved the bowl. The second time I went I had the vegan burger and the beet juice. The veggie burger was great and I loved the juice. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for something healthy as this can be pretty hard to find in Florence.

The oysters are ENORMOUS and the portions are very generous and extremely great value for money. The atmosphere is very cool and modern with incredible service as well. The most creative dish we had was the Codfish Cappuccino, a codfish mousse topped with potato foam, served in a cappuccino cup with a croissant on the side. It was made to look like breakfast but was a savory seafood appetizer! One nice feature about the menu here was that many dishes could be ordered in a "Tapas" (half) portion, so it was easy to try and share lots of different items. The Catalan-style Calamari and Shrimp Salad was a refreshing mixture of chopped squid mixed with zucchini, carrots, fennel, tomatoes, and oranges; the Fusili with Galician-style Octopus Sauce came with al dente corkscrew pasta in a tomato-based octopus ragout made with spicy salami and topped with potato foam; and the Cacciucco was a tomato-based stew (from the Tuscan coastal city of Livorno) made with octopus, cuttlefish, mussels, and gurnard, along with dry chunks of bread that were moistened in the stew. Finally, we had the Isolana-Style Sea Bream Fillet, which was simply grilled and served over roasted vegetables including zucchini, potatoes, peppers, onions, and olives. Overall, the seafood here was fresh and tasty, fusing elements of Spanish and Italian cuisines.

Attentive service, which matched the upscale prices. Used to be impossible to get good fish in Florence, but Pane e Olio demonstrates that the era of frozen, whiffy seafood is past. The meal opened with a substantially-portioned amuse-bouche that was a kind of seafood version of the local standard "ribollita" (Tuscan bread, white-bean, and black cabbage soup). Had fish tartar as antipasto, which was delightful; the only slight disappointment was my pasta. The kitchen ran out of the dish listed, and offered an off-menu replacement. Didn't catch exactly what it was (another fish); it was fine, but not spectacular - more four-stars than five. However, on the whole, Pane e Olio was a wonderful experience; the atmosphere and presentation feel current when compared with the multitude of Tuscan/Traditional trattorie that vie for tourist attention in Florence. Would happily go back if looking for a special occasion restaurant.

Our meal was based on mozzarella cheese and so the entrée was a tarte with caprese (toasted bread, tomato slice, mozzarella piece and basil with olive oil and salt), then an egglpant and tomato carpaccio with iced mozzarella whey, an outstanding octopus wholewheat flour homemade ravioli and a pumpink dessert with peanut brittle. Each course accompanied with a different wine. The overall meal was very pleasant, the ravioli made the 5 stars. I had the chance to sneak a peak of the menu and it looks like they sure have a taste for specific ingredients that are 100% pure luxuries of Tuscany and Italy. Doesn't surprise me everything tastes this good then. I will go back to taste something from the menu, I got too curious!

It's located near the Sant'Ambrosio market in a newer style building that looks a little bit like an american strip mall. We showed up for a late cena and the place was absolutely full. And full of Italian locals. Not a tourist in sight and it struck me immediately as the newest hot spot. My kind of place. The inside ambiance is really new and nice, albeit a little bright in terms of light. I would like to see a little improvement in lighting and sound acoustics, but new places usually need to suss this kind of thing out after being open for a few weeks. You know, after they see what it's like full of people and tweak it to make it better from there. The design is big and open with a mix of long and short tables. Mostly one big open room with a long raw bar along one side. The decor reminds me of a modern twist on a fisherman's wharf theme. The menu - If you like raw food/raw bars, then you will really love this place as most of the menu is dedicated to raw seafood. Now I love raw oysters but I don't eat them anymore so I skipped right over the raw selection and went right to the restaurant's daily menu which features antipasto, primo and secondo - with about three to four selections under each course. This is where I needed assistance from the server (who was warm, friendly, attentive and professional - A+ here) to advise me on my garlic allergy. Turns out, I really could only choose from two of the selections, which was kind of a bummer but okay. So I ordered the white fish (bandeira). The plates came looking very beautiful, but my white fish was just a little too salty so I wasn't able to finish it. Sadly I couldn't really indulge in the food here, but I really liked the energy, style and buzz about this restaurant so I would highly recommend it, so I am giving it 4 stars for that...and you will have to try more of the food and make up your mind for yourself. But overall - a solid choice if you are interested in a raw bar which is off the beaten path and full of locals. Definitely the hip and in crowd.
