Staying near SMN and went out early for some coffee. Not too many places open but came across shake. 8th day in Italy and first time I saw option sizes for drinks (s-m-L) . Had the medium cappuccino and an Americano. Plus of course 2 cornettos. Best coffee I've had in Italy , no. But very good . Cornettos were fresh and tasty . $10 for all. I'll be back. Got off the early train from Rome and searched Yelp for coffee. I thought "chain" and wasn't quite sure when I saw that this espresso bar had four spots allover Naples. Saw pics and decided that this is the place we were getting breakfast. They are conveniently located right next to the Santa Maria Novella church and piazza. This cafe is small like other similar bars but had a roomier patio setup. We snagged one of the few seats inside as it was too chilly on the patio (though it did have a nice view of the plaza). We ordered the usual Italian breakfast of coffee and pastries but I got the fruit and nut smothered acai bowl which I had been craving for this morning. The baristas were very friendly and service was fast. After walking allover Firenze on that cloudy Saturday, we decided to stop by again for a healthy green ginger smoothie and an afternoon dose of macchiato. read more

I got the vegan burrito and a matcha latte with coconut milk. That burrito was so good! It was a nice break from lots of pizza and pasta that I'd been eating the 5 days prior, haha. And a matcha latte was the perfect amount of energy to get me through that afternoon. They have 3 locations and I would not hesitate to come back here and try more of their delicious foods. I got a smoothie bowl and some toast and they both were delicious. I went here for the first time about a month ago. LOCATION: This location is near the main train station of the city, so it's convenient if you want to go grab something to eat there while waiting for a train. 3/5 ATMOSPHERE: It's pretty small inside and there's not that much seating. It's like a juice bar. But, I think they have seating outside too. 3/5 SELECTION: It's mostly known for being a juice bar, so they have juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls, etc., but they also have wraps, sandwiches, bagels, and a few other things as well. I appreciate the vegan options they have. 3/5 WHAT I GOT: I got their Acai Bowl. The description of it reads, "milk, blackberries, banana, acai powder," so I wasn't sure what milk they use and wanted to make sure it'd be vegan, so I asked and they said they can use whatever milk, so I requested almond milk. They also asked what I wanted for the toppings, so I just said granola and fruit, as those are typical toppings for acai bowls. Anyways, it turned out great. It was definitely way better than I expected and the best acai bowl I had while on my Europe trip this year. I just wish I was able to have it there and not to-go (takeaway), so it could be nicely presented in a regular bowl and I could take a nice picture of it lol. Also, I wish I would've thought of more toppings, like coconut, to make it prettier haha. But yeah, the acai blend was good -- it wasn't too thin and I could taste the acai flavor and could tell they actually use a substantial amount, based on how dark it was. I was actually surprised considering they apparently use acai powder, which, from my experience, is pretty weak, as compared to most places, which use frozen acai puree in their blends. The granola was also good -- not amazing, but not chewy or hard. And the fruit on top was fresh and ripe too. All-in-all, I'd definitely recommend their Acai Bowl. 4/5 SERVICE: The service was good. Once we'd found Shake Cafe, it was a firm favourite of ours during our time in Florence. From then on, we headed there most mornings for a juice to start the day. I was so pleased to discover this awesome little juice bar as I'm such a fan of juices at home and the juices certainly lived up to my expectations. My favourite was definitely the power smoothie with cacao, cinnamon, banana, dates and yoghurt. I had this multiple times because it was so scrumptious and very filling. - SO good! Prices are reasonable at 4 euros for a regular and 5 for a large drink. If you're also feeling peckish, there's a selection of pastries, yoghurt and fruit pots and also sandwiches and bagels if you're after something a little more substantial. - All made in-house! It does get busy and as a result, the service can seem a little disorderly and staff are purely focused on delivering orders meaning there isn't much room for pleasantries. But this definitely wasn't a deal breaker, as it's a grab-and-go kind of place, and I really loved the juices and that's what brought me back again and again. read more
