I had my suspicions when we pulled up....can a great burger really be found in this grungy looking bar/music hall that's connected to a Shell gas station? Why YES, yes it can!!! Let me tell you I was quite skeptical but was my mind blown! I literally almost licked my basket once I was finished with my food because I wanted to keep tasting all that deliciousness. The burgers were cooked perfectly to order and the different menu combinations were both surprising and inviting. The staff was also extremely friendly and welcoming. As we were leaving it looked like they were setting up for a night of live music as well. We'll definitely be back and next time will stay to check out the show! read more

Don't walk, but RUN on over to Citgo at Summer and Highland for some of the best food you will find! The Blue Suede Fries are great with plenty to share, the Fried Green Day Tomatoes are delish with a great remoulade sauce, and the Fleetwood Mac&Cheese is out of this world. My Jim Candy to The Rescue was cooked perfectly and the carmelized onions put me over the edge! Seen a lot of locals posting about eating here for a while me and my wife tried many items on the menu my favorite being TCB and the Fleetwood Mac. I don't know how Huey's wins best burger in town when this one is second to none. This place is awesome. The food is unique and the names are so funny and creative. I have had most of what's on the regular menu, slowly working my way to try everything I can, which is hard bc I have completely fallen in love with certain dishes. The cool thing is that when my friends know I am having a bad day, they just bring me food from here and it makes my day soo much better. This place deserves all praise for the service the hard working people provide, they are so nice and friendly, and the food, even though located in a gas station is TOP NOTCH. Nice that it's open late, but went for a shareable and ordered the rolling on the gritr but they were out.... so we got the twist and stout pretzels... $8, and to end up with only two pretzel pieces seems overpriced. Employee was super friendly and redeemed a 2 star review into a 3. Side note- bar/patio is shared with Canvas, where we couldn't even get someone at the bar counter to acknowledge us so we could get drinks. Overall not a great visit for us out-of-towners. EDIT: we had already left town but the fact that the owner-chef reached out to try and make things better and give us and them a second shot is amazing. The fleet wood Mac is out of this world good, along with the the piggy sliders just the right amount of spice. New kid on the block food truck Rawk'n Grub brings rock references and artisanal cooking to junk food sandwiches and a couple of salads. RnG has a pretty nifty assemblage of puns in their menu (Al Greens, anyone?), but they've fortunately spent as much time on their food prep as their menu titles. I ate the CC Sliders at the recommendation of the staff and added a side of Fried Fleetwood Mac (rimshot, please). The sliders, prepared from a mix of beef, chorizo, and bacon, are topped with chipotle aioli and tomato jam and pack a roto-tom fill of flavor. Even the cornerstone side Tater Styx come well seasoned and tasty. The aforementioned FF Mac is a rectangular slab of fried glory that could be one-handed midset by any drummer except Def Leppard's. My only recommendation to the cooks would be to add a dip to it - maybe a spicy ranch - to take it to 11. My crew had the Cheesy Like Sunday Morning grilled cheese and Livin' La Vida Porka cuban sandwich and raved about them. I'll be back, and the next trip will probably involve the Fruity Pebble-encrusted chicken tenders... Whoa. read more

I do not know what RAWK'n Grub even means. But we have tried this place, numerous times via ubereats. They make the best burgers and Pattie La melts. The fries with truffle sauce are to die for. ​My first time eating inside a gas station. My three companions all thought I was insane for suggesting such a course of action, by the time we left everyone was discussing what they were going to order next time. The food here is fantastic. The cheeseburger stopped the conversation at the table as it arrived, my friend claimed it was the best he had ever eaten. The bacon, the cheese, the two thick patties dripping with delightful juiciness all cried out like a symphony begging for immediate consumption. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, it too was delicious. We sampled the loaded french fries (not the bluesued variety) and delighted in the chorizo gravy mixing together with candied bacon and cheese to form a slurry of flavor enveloping​ each french fry. The owner graciously brought out samples of his brussel sprouts and cheesecake egg rolls. Biting into both was at once delightful and sorrowful. Delightful because he honestly redefined what I thought a brussel sprout could be, sorrowful because I waited until so close to the end of my meal that I had little stomach real estate remaining to indulge in more of them. The cheesecake eggroll was a conversation stopper as someone cried out in praise to Jesus for allowing such an extraordinary thing to be created among men. The salted, cocoa infused, caramel bourbon dipping sauce should be bottled, it is a thing of beauty that needs to be preserved for posterity. read more

Honestly the best experience I've had at a restaurant! We found it on yelp and didn't read the comments. We passed it several times and gave up so we stopped at the gas station to go the bathroom turns out it's in the gas station! I was supper sketched out at first but my sister said it had really good reviews. We checked out the menu and the guy that worked there was super welcoming and he was really passionate about his business and the food he cooks. So we split the Tom patty and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had! The fries were sooo good too! The whole thing was so great, the gas station guy had Eminem on repeat the whole time! This little gas station gem is the best road trip find ever! We will definitely stop here every time we are in Memphis! read more

The area outside my office in the Ridgeway Loop is richly blessed with food truck offerings, and based on the graphic design elements on the truck, I think I assumed this particular one had perhaps just burgers/fries/rock 'n' roll food (whatever that is :) They actually had a variety of interesting-sounding sandwiches and a few other items. I ordered a veggie quesadilla today, and it was really surprising and very good. Chipotle tortilla, glazed grilled veggies (a good variety), and a dipping sauce. Portion was large. I think it was $8. They had a bean soup on the menu that sounded good, too---next time I might try that. read more

I REALLY wanted to try this place tonight and see what all the fuss is about. The bar was fairly empty- only four tables with people at them. We sat for more than 15 minutes without being acknowledged- no menus, no water, no "hi, how y'all doing?". The waitress takes the order of the people next to us and never looks our way. She then turns in their order and walks out, not to take our order but to stand around talking to the guy at the door for another five minutes. Then she walks back behind the bar and continues to ignore us. We finally give up and get up to leave. No one even bats an eye, including the guy at the door who asked us if we were there to eat when we first arrived. Sorry I never got to try your restaurant, but with service like that you just guaranteed I will never be back. read more

Went to the location inside Citgo today for our first visit. I ordered the Kanye Breast sliders and the Fried Green Day tomatoes. Tomatoes came out piping hot and delicious, and were sprinkled with blue cheese and remoulade. Awesome. The sliders were not at all dry, and the blackened chicken, kicked up cole slaw and the BBQ sauce all played well together. My friends ordered shareable sides which are all huge portions so we all got to taste different things. The po-boy looked delicious and I'll probably try it next. This place was amazing. We're from out of town and didn't know the area. At first, we were a little thrown off by the fact that they're inside of a gas station.
