    Beef chow fun

My husband was wanting some lo mein this time so we ordered lo mein, Cantonese chicken and of course egg foo young. From the time we walked in they were busy with a few birthday parties going on, but they were on it with seating us and taking our orders in a timely manner. The lo mein had great flavors and cooked good. The Cantonese chicken was in gravy which was pretty good, but same as the egg foo young. We learned that there is definitely a difference in their menus so the next time we come here, we know.

We have only been to Golden City two or three times, but it has been really great each time! This is one of the most authentic Asian restaurants we have found in the area! The food was fresh and came out around the same time. Our waitress was nice and took good care of us. The service was also pretty quick even though it was busy inside! They have the large circular tables with the Lazy Susan tray! The prices are reasonably priced for what you get. We brought home a lot of leftovers, too! We will definitely be back!

Tried multiple things here and every thing had a different unique tastes- in a good way. Ordered whole fried fish- never had it before- was Amazing! Definitely gonna go back to try new things.

Updating my review from three years ago, and I'm happy to say Golden City is as good as ever. We recently went for our family Sunday brunch and ordered a variety of dishes. The Peking duck was a standout favorite, along with the ribs and beef chow fun noodles. We enjoy eating family style, and the service was welcoming and friendly as always. We also tried one of their sizzling plates, which came out perfectly sizzling and was a hit with everyone. Whether you dine in or order to go, Golden City won't disappoint!

Are you still We came in after a baseball game and ordered our food. Both dishes were okay. They were not busy at all and it was a slow time of the day. The food isn't bad but it's not spectacular either. The prices are good and so are the servings. Staff was friendly as well.

I went here to celebrate a birthday celebration with a big group of people. The workers were quick to bring the food out, but the flavor profile was missing. The best dish was the stir fried shrimp. Green beans could be seasoned more,.. as with the fried rice, egg drop soup, and the lo mein. The stir fried beef wasn't too bad. For some reason, some tables had different dishes. I would give them another chance as this place seems pretty popular and can be busy.

This is an authentic Chinese dining experience with traditional dishes and decor. The sizzling chicken. Is reminiscent to the General Tso's chicken found at other establishments. The egg drop soup and chicken fried rice were filling and tasted as expected. Service was good as well.

The food here was pretty good. Fried tofu, walnut shrimp, and peaking pork with red sauce were all good choices. The ONLY reason I'm scoring the way I am, was because the peaking pork came out real hot! Almost like scorching hot (microwaved?). Or, it's just hella fresh! I feel like I have to go there a second time, which we are, to get the real reviews. BUT do check them out. This place had an atmosphere of homie and comfort. The staff I feel are family and so you kind of get that feel as you eat there. I look forward to our next dinner there and updating ya'll.

Solid Chinese food. I will say the building had a wet smell but it may have been the fish pond. We had General Chos and Hunan Chicken. Extremely reasonably priced.

    Reasonably priced lunch.

I had the pepper steak lunch with egg drop soup. It was delicious and well worth the price. I have enough for lunch tomorrow.

It is a Michelin recognized (i.e., fancy) authentic Szechuanese restaurant. While I can't comment on the authenticity, the flavors are deeper and bolder than any Chinese cuisine I've ever had. My brother and I fight over which is better, the boiling fish or the dry pot. Really, everything we've had has been excellent. It's possible to go affordable here with something like a fried rice dish, but I recommend being adventurous and trying something new. Every dish is sharing size and a table of two could eat their fill with one or two dishes. They get busy during peak times but they're good at turning tables and I've never had a bad wait. I'll note that the food comes out suspiciously quick, seemingly regardless of what we order it takes around 5-10 minutes, even when we brought a larger party.

It adds to the flavor without being the only thing to the food. I just wish I had more people who liked spicy food to come eat here with me. We ordered : Beef Lo Mein - the noodles were fine but the beef was terrible. The consistency of the meat felt like you're eating chewed up gum. They did follow my request on not adding veg to the lo mein so that's what earned them the second star on the review. General Tsos Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken, both were fine. Very standard but the sweet and sour chicken was a bit on the dry side but it's okay. Fried scallops were fine. A bit dry but not bad. Chicken with broccoli - I specially asked for this in garlic sauce and they did just that so thank you so much, this goes into the second star of the review. This meal was fine as well. The shrimp roll was absolutely terrible. It was probably the worst egg roll/shrimp roll I have ever had in my life. The cabbage tasted like some kind of cleaning product or disinfectant. The shrimp was absolutely disgusting and the size of my thumbnail. It was just -1000/10 Overall this is a 2.5-3/5 for me, but I will not be ordering from here again.

Do not expect table service but if you are nice you just may get it. You also get some choice: You can either get an egg roll, or, a bottle of water if you dine in! Food takes just a bit longer than you might expect for a takeout place, but, the important part--it is worth the wait--which is the reason for the extra star. The prices are very reasonable, almost cheap! If you truly enjoy take out Chinese food, this place is worth a stop and may become your "go to".
