Went to celebrate the birth of my cousin's new baby Saturday. We had a very fun time. Most of the food was pretty good. Some were quite salty. There were a lot of attendees at the party so cooking for many can be challenging. We started with fried rice that was quite tasty. Next we had a roasted chicken, Peking Pork, Beef flat noodles, lotus root vegetable dish withe Chinese Sausage, mushrooms and fried tofu and Chinese broccoli and mushrooms. We had a shrimp dish that was supposed to be shrimp and lobster sauce but did not look like the normal one. Service was good. There were many tables but the food came out as fast as possible. All in all everything was okay but in the past it has been better. I know I will return to have some other dishes soon. read more

My husband was wanting some lo mein this time so we ordered lo mein, Cantonese chicken and of course egg foo young. From the time we walked in they were busy with a few birthday parties going on, but they were on it with seating us and taking our orders in a timely manner. We have only been to Golden City two or three times, but it has been really great each time! This is one of the most authentic Asian restaurants we have found in the area! The food was fresh and came out around the same time. Our waitress was nice and took good care of us. The service was also pretty quick even though it was busy inside! They have the large circular tables with the Lazy Susan tray! The prices are reasonably priced for what you get. We brought home a lot of leftovers, too! We will definitely be back! read more

When I first moved to this neighborhood naturally I had to find a local Chinese place, and Golden City did not disappoint! Me and my man must have ordered from here 20 times by now lol. If you love a good ass fried rice then this is the place for you. And they do not skimp on ingredients, that rice is nice and full with plenty of meat. Also the low mein noodles are good, and the egg rolls are bomb!! Spring Rolls are good too. And they have awesome fried chicken wings, order them spicy, it's worth the extra dollar!It's also a quiet little location and you hardly ever have to wait. Updating my review from three years ago, and I'm happy to say Golden City is as good as ever. We recently went for our family Sunday brunch and ordered a variety of dishes. The Peking duck was a standout favorite, along with the ribs and beef chow fun noodles. We enjoy eating family style, and the service was welcoming and friendly as always. 6-21-26 We were there for lunch because my spouse wanted Cantonese food. I am not a big fan of this place. We put in our order. The service was good but the food was so so. The Fried Wonton was bad and it was fried with old oil. The whole Bbq Roast Duck was okay. It lacked any flavor but at least it was a whole duck. The Bbq Roast Pork or Char Siu was pretty bad. They served old refrigerated or old meat and they doctored it up with something. I wanted to send it back but other family members didn't want to say anything. The Beef Flat Noodles had small portions of meat with no flavor. The Seafood Soup was okay but little bits of seafood. The Black Mushroom with Chinese Broccoli was okay with little mushroom but it had no flavor. The Sizzling Scallops was okay with onions, bell pepper and black pepper. Overall, the food meal had no seasoning whatsoever and the portions were not consistent enough to warrant the price point. We want be back. The food here was pretty good. Fried tofu, walnut shrimp, and peaking pork with red sauce were all good choices. The ONLY reason I'm scoring the way I am, was because the peaking pork came out real hot! Almost like scorching hot (microwaved?). Or, it's just hella fresh! I feel like I have to go there a second time, which we are, to get the real reviews. BUT do check them out. This place had an atmosphere of homie and comfort. Place is always packed staff is very friendly. The family is always there very surprised the oldest girl has not been put to work yet. Ordered seafood pan fried noodle and there was very little noodles and just a couple of pieces of seafood. The beef noodle soup that used to be served in a large bowl; now smaller. This is my final visit to this restaurant. The one star rating is only for effort, because there is no lower rating available....I ordered chicken with broccoli and garlic sauce. When I asked for the garlic sauce, the employee seemed to not understand my request. I'm not sure why he was surprised when this is a frequent order of mine when visiting various Chinese restaurants....I opted to choose the lunch special chicken with broccoli, but I requested that my broccoli be well done. Once I arrived to pick up my food, I looked at my food and didn't like how creamy my sauce was. The chicken was pale white as if it had been boiled or barely sautéed. When I asked why the the chicken was so white, the man looked at me as if he could have thrown a tantrum. He said, "It's white chicken." I said, "Sir, I eat chicken most of the time, regardless of where it is purchased from. I know the difference between white and dark meat chicken. I'm afraid to eat it because I'm not used to chicken looking like this. I want a refund." He angrily entered my card number to refund my money as he huffed and puffed. He didn't even offer an alternate meal. As I waited to receive my card and receipt, he looked at me and asked, "What are you waiting for?" I told him that I was waiting for a receipt. Then I said, "You seem to be upset, but no worries because this is my final visit. Most of the time I get a receipt or sign for a refund." I also asked to see the manager.
