To save a few dollars, we typically purchase widely-available staples/packaged goods at the Big Y next door, then head over to Guido's for specialty items only. We are not particular fans of the cafe items, however, which we've tried when we wanted to eat breakfast before shopping - wrapped breakfast sandwiches in the cafe steamtable have been greasy or generally odd-tasting (I'm looking at you, weird crumbly breakfast biscuit), and the few times we've ordered milk-based hot coffee drinks, they've been burned. Moving forward, we'll skip the cafe when we shop. Though the parking lot in the GB location is MUCH more manageable than the crazy parking lot at the Lenox location - which makes it worth the drive to GB alone...

Wine and liquor selection is excellent and while the prices are higher than those in most supermarkets, the quality and choice are worth it. Because now, I realize how lacking all other dairy products are. Seriously. We purchased milk from High Lawn during our stay at a local long-term let with a full kitchen. We brought home milk and ice cream. When that ran out and we returned to our regular 'store bought' milk, I was like 'what am I drinking?' You don't know how good High Lawn Farms milk is, until you don't have it any more. If I lived near here, this is the only place I would get my dairy. Now, the ice cream! So, so, so good! It's not overly sweet. The flavor is just right. Again, not over done. It's 'light'. I don't know how to explain it. I got two scoops and when I saw how much ice cream that was I thought I'd 'never be able to eat all that.' But the ice cream texture is light, not heavy. It's still creamy, but not in the same way as my local farm made ice cream is made. It's light and those two scoops were just the right amount. The store offers more than milk and ice cream by the pint. They also sell a selection of High Lawn farm cheeses and frozen cuts of beef among other things. Besides the store and the ice cream trailer, you can visit the cows and calves in the barn. There are also older calves in the field by the ice cream trailer that you can pet. They come right up to the fence looking for pets. Anyway, you can see I am a fan of High Lawn Farm. Go. Don't think about it. Go. Get the ice cream. Get the milk. Compare it to your 'regular' dairy. You'll understand.

For my money better than even Artheusa (and they are delicious). Make the trip.

I'm so glad I found Meadow Farm Equipment!…read more For me owning a house in the Berkshires has meant lots of yard, garden, and driveway work. Once I got a truck, I found myself coming here several times a week to purchase mulch, driveway mix, gravel, compost, topsoil. They also sell chainsaws, weedwackers, and leaf blowers (they are official Stihl, Husqvarna, and Echo dealers). The mulch, compost, and top soil I picked up from them was great quality! The best I have seen from anywhere! Even better, their prices are great and they deliver! The customer service is great! I've worked the most with, Alex and Jen, if I arrive at 7:01am or 4:55pm they are always fast, pleasant, courteous, and professional. The staff has been super knowledgeable about their products. When I went in to look at a new chainsaw Alex asked me a bunch of questions to better understand my needs before making recommendations. (The prices were very competitive to what I've seen at big box stores.) I had them repair my weedwacker, they did the work quickly (called me to let me know it was ready) and it works better than ever. FYI, it seems like they repair pretty much everything, sharpen chainsaw blades, and work on lawn mowers and tractors.

They are knowledgeable about their products and have a wide selection of replacement parts for your yard equipment. We got a few yards of dirt and organic compost one year. There were a few things in the compost I wouldn't consider organic - wire, plastic... check out a higher grade compost in a bag for vegetable gardens. The prices were fair and delivery was fast. Their location is cool convenient right on 102 but the end of the drive could use some fill in the pot holes. Drive slowly. We go back because they are locally owned and like to support our community. One thing I've learned since moving from the west coast is - northeast customer service is not the same as west coast or southern hospitality.
