Been going there for 15 years-Ray (owner) was always great to talk to, food was always excellent, working crew was friendly and top notch. just stopped in, maybe for the last time. The new owner has turned it into a beer/wine/liquor warehouse, oh yeah there is some food, but I don't see the original friendly people working there anymore either.. All the great photos he had are gone, as are many of the shelf-supplied stuff he sold are gone which it made it different and unique for this area- completely replaced with boxes of beer and wine all over almost the entire store. All the locals went there for years, now.....its lost that local sense of service. I'm done, I'll go up the street to Ryan's. read more

Ray and Charles has been a staple in our backyard for years. Their family atmosphere and friendly ways make them a favorite stop after Mass. The service is reliable, kind and in a word, wonderful! I would recommend the food prep to wear gloves / hair nets . I observed one of the staff making my order Taking ingredients with their bare hands from different canisters . Then touching their face / mouth area and back to cooking. Not cool! Other times I've come here food was good . But let's practice sanitary rules. read more

I've been going to Ray's since '04. I can't believe the negative reviews here. I'm among the regular breakfast crowd on Monday mornings and frequently on Wednesday's as well for better than 10 years. I can honestly say the food and atmosphere are always top notch and a great place to keep up with the other local retirees... The deli counter is always fresh and clean. The salads and sandwiches are always good portions and the cold cuts are Boars Head and delicious. Their menu is diner fair breakfast, lunch and dinner platters for both sit down and take out. I've never had a bad experience here. They're also a good place for milk, bread and convenience items... a kind of 7-11 type instead of traveling the extra 9 miles to find a grocery store. read more

Such a good place. It's what you would expect in this area. An owner who is careless and who is on premises and making sure the food comes out right. Commercial says you use the best cheese available on the market. Then I observed you putting processed cheese on the pizza. Also the commercial says you use a brick oven..lmao. Do you people know what a brick pizza oven is??? A brick oven is a hand made brick wood fired oven! Not that factory made, gas, stainless steel oven you are using. I wish I could give negative stars. Good food, quick service. Purchased a 739 Sloppy, which is a roast beef with cheese and a layer of coleslaw on fresh rye bread. It was very good. We also picked up some individually wrapped cake for a snack. One was Oreo cake and the other was carrot cake. Yum! read more

I was in the area for a job and needed a place to crash for an hour. This place was perfect since it has free wi-fi, diner area, and convenience store all in one. The menu is enormous (dozens of panels and posters listing all kinds of breakfast and lunch items including green eggs & ham and sweet potato fries and various beers). The coffee station has various flavored creamers and syrups. The food is good. The service and atmosphere is okay too. There's a huge screen TV and did I already mention free wi-fi? Cash only. There's an ATM machine that charges a $1.75 terminal fee if you need it. read more

While the Forklift Cafe tries to figure out what/where it's gonna be, Lords Valley is at a loss for weekend breakfast or brunch. Luckily, good ol' Ray & Charles to the rescue! The prices aren't really "reasonable" by its location standards, but it IS open, & it serves breakfast all day. Keep in mind that they only have regular coffee, or decaf, but you can have shots of the coffee-flavoring syrups. Nothing fancy here, so escaped-city folks won't be too thrilled. But it IS open! The Food is Very Good, A good find for any reason whether your visiting the area or a local hungry tummy. I found a hard find potato and egg and sausage hero/sub/hogie with a little mayo out of this world fantastic but an old classic done right sandwich if you know what I mean.
