We have been there many times and the food never disappoints. The waitress' are friendly, the ambiance makes you feel at home. This is our go to place to eat, they never disappoint! Anne

This spot is so cute! If you're new to the area you must check it out. Ros was our waitress. She is very very friendly. They had a s'mores pancake on the special of the day. The coffee is perfect. No acidity and smooth and mellow. I had the junior breakfast everything was great! Normal breakfast. I had my dad omelette and WOW! I am so having that next time! It was so delicious. They also serve lunch as well. (Forgot to take pics of the menu) but I will be back soon enough to try more items on their menu!

    Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure

I went with the $9.95 build your own Cheesesteak option. I got a beef cheesesteak with mushrooms, sauteed onions, American cheese and Spanky signature steak sauce. Corned beef was a meat option that I found intriguing and almost ordered. When I first got the cheesesteak I was very concerned. It came with really good looking french fries but I was still concerned about the cheesesteak. I was very happy when I picked it up and found there was a good amount of meat hiding in the roll. The mushrooms and sauteed onions added a lot of flavor but it was Spanky's signature steak sauce that stole the show. The Bottom bite where all the good stuff was hiding was amazing. Unfortunately the bottom bite didn't make up for a whole lot of roll and some dry meat on top.

When I first walked in I tripped on a block of wood that was randomly in front of the door.once I got in the door they had a cool display of license plates on the walls. I ordered a panini but it was basically a chicken sandwich, the bread wasn't panini bread. Maybe I will order something else next time. Overall nothing to rave about but the staff was very nice.

Vegetable omelet & home fries The Junior
    Claudia H.

I ordered the veggie omelette with home fries. My partner across from me ordered the Junior. Overall, great food and atmosphere! I love little diners like these. This was a great place to stop for breakfast on my drive back home to Philadelphia. The food is classic diner food, but really great quality and they have an extensive menu. My only complaint is that all the waitresses I interacted with were not appropriately wearing their masks (COVID precautions). I know this is not a concern for everyone, especially since it's located in a rural area, but worth mentioning for people who are looking to social distance.

Touched the soul. No wonder this place has been around 35 years! Must stop if you're in the area and hungry.

Quaint diner. Good service. The food was a bit underwhelming, as was the coffee. But good for a quick bite to eat.

Mountainhome Diner has been around for years and is your typical diner with all-day breakfast available. It's clean and the staff were exactly what you want in a diner with friendliness and hospitality. I went with a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant with some well done potatoes. My friend had the scrapple with some scrambled eggs. I also had an orange juice. The orange juice I did not care for. Definitely not fresh squeezed. But the sandwich was excellent along with the potatoes. My friend also loved his coffee and scrapple with egg. My meal came to $11 not including tip. We'd come back!

The current owners since 2017 are husband and wife restaurateurs Ali and Etab Abullattif. The enormous menu features classic staples such as omelets, pancakes, eggs benedict, french toast, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast wraps, salads, sandwiches, paninis, burgers, seafood entrees, steakhouse entrees, and various Italian specialties too numerous to mention. My family and I visited Mountainhome Diner for lunch on a recent trip to the Poconos. It was actually are last morning on our trip and we were looking for a place to grab lunch before making the drive back to Connecticut. We had driven past the diner several times on previous visits to the area, but had never visited before. We decided to give them a try. It seemed like a classic American diner that you could find just about anywhere. There's no website, no social media accounts, just good old-fashioned diner staples. The staff were friendly and accommodating and they seated us at a booth. A go-to dish that my wife and I both like to get at classic diners is a Greek salad, and Mountainhome Diner's "Big Fat Greek Salad" (chopped iceberg lettuce, crumbled feta, olives, tomato, onions, peppers, grape leaves, house Greek vinegar) sounded like it was just what we were looking for. I ordered mine with gyro while my wife ordered hers with chicken. Those salads really hit the spot! For our sons, we looked to the Kids Menu. Our older son had the "Hot Dog with French fries" while our younger son had the "Chicken Fingers with French fries". They were both very happy with their dishes. We had a nice time at Mountainhome Diner and we're happy that we finally stopped in. We recommend them to anyone visiting the area!

We ordered their salmon with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli, Chicken Française with a side of potato wedges, a side salad, Grilled cheeses with french fries for the kids, tuna melt, cheese curds, and a sandwich off their special menu I can't remember the name. The sandwiches came with bagged kettle cooked chips! I wasn't able to picture everything because everyone had mostly scoffed their food down immediately. Lol. Definitely recommend their brownie sundae for dessert, with their Double Dunker ice cream! SO GOOD! I also included a video of one of our rowdy kiddos having a good time with her food! Super worth it dining experience, I will say there is absolutely no signal to use your cellphone, so more family bonding haha. This place is amazing and would definitely come back.
