Truth be told, my rating's more like a 3.75, but I'll round up. Tried Carini's most recently while visiting family, but have ordered in the past and had mostly positive experience. I stopped in on a whim while running errands after hearing that they had started serving coffee roasts. There are slim pickings for coffee in Lords Valley. You can get McDonalds or Dunkin, perhaps pick up a brew from a local deli, or drive 20+ minutes for a chance at something more crafted So, I was pretty stoked to hear that there was finally somewhere nearby to get espresso. Maybe I shouldn't have had high hopes for coffee at a pizza place. Maybe my optimism and excitement of finally having an option blinded me. The order total was my first unpleasant surprise. Way more than I'd expected for a latte and a gelato, but also partially my fault for not checking the menu first. (I will say, they were generous portions-- perhaps they only had large in the to-go size.) The latte disappointed me. Firstly, the foam ratio was really closer to a cappuccino than a latte. The coffee was scalding hot, and when I was able to taste it, it didn't have the boldness typical of espresso. I don't think I would return for the coffee, but baristas have bad days too, so maybe it was just an off afternoon. The gelato on the other hand-- 10/10. It's housemade, and they had about 8 flavors on the menu (I believe they rotate.) I choose the mango sorbetto, and was happy I did. The ice held up well on the 10 minute trip, and the texture was perfectly creamy. The taste was phenomenal-- the perfect mix of tart and tangy and sweet. This is lick-the-cover-of-the-cap good. Large portion, which is ideal because you will want a ton of this goodness. From waiting for my order, the ambiance seems pretty nice. The interior is very chic and modern, and much different than the typical family restaurants that mostly frequent this area of PA. I would come here for a night or afternoon out. The pizza is pretty good as well, and unlike another pizza place in the area which shant be named in this review, Carini's actually answers their phones on busy Friday nights instead of letting the phone ring indefinitely for hours. I wouldn't steer anyone away from trying here, and I would definitely recommend stopping in for the gelato! read more

Third time going the food is very good, it is a more quiet place to dine which is great and it's good service for the most part. they have mostly italian food, which is obvious because it's a brick oven restaurant. But overall good and they have a good selection of cafe lattes and drinks, I always get the matcha latte. read more

The food here is excellent just stopped by. I had lobster raviolis and my wife had shrimp scampi. Both dishes were delicious. I tried hers. I ate all of mine. They were fresh and delicious. The sauce was excellent. The service was amazing. The waitress was right on top of thingsnever had to look for her. I would definitely go back here and eat again I want to try the pizza next time I'm here highly recommend. read more

My husband and I came here after we did a vendor event. At this point we were both starving. We decided to get a pie and share it but oh man the lack of taste of the pizza is missing some type of flavor. Nice and welcoming restaurant. We stop by order to go once a month for coffee and/or pizza/salad. Although they are short staffed like the rest of the country everyone's friendly and works with a sense of urgency. I recommend their Brooklyn pie and their tiramisu. If I were them, I'd be mortified what a disgrace, horrible threw it in the garbage. I can't believe it's that hard to make a chicken cutlet Parmesan sandwich. They didn't even put any sauce on it. TO BE CLEAR- the 2 stars are for our waitress. Dark black hair- she was excellent. The food however was not. The linguini alfredo was edible but there was SO much sauce, it looked like soup. The veal marsala was definitely a frozen meal. The eggplant parm was tough to chew and flavorless- questionable if it was real eggplant. The chicken parm was definitely a lean cuisine. The penne was rock solid- inedible. The bruschetta and garlic bread with cheese were slapped together and did not have a pretty appearance but tasted good. The mozzarella sticks were delicious. Good food with a wide spread list of different dishes. My family's been here several times for their artisanal pizza and pasta dishes. For the area, I would say it's on the pricier side and is comparable to NYC prices. The food takes around 20-30 minutes for pick-up and they do have outdoor seating options. I went to this cafe a few days ago and the server I had was named Rylee. She was extremely rude and had no customer service skills at all, she made for a terrible dining experience. I believe the owner makes the pizzas, which is hard to believe because he is terrible at his job. My pizza was burnt and flavorless, he should be ashamed of his business. While I was waiting to grab my server's attention, I saw her talking to the owner and both of them were completely ignoring my table. Absolutely terrible experience for me and my mom. It smells so good the minute you walk in. It's a restaurant, but you can get pizza pies to go. I'd advise to call ahead. The pizza was delicous, maybe just a little more cheese please. I am so glad we stopped by and ate at Carini's! What a hidden gem! The food was way beyond expectations especially for the area. We felt like we are home, in Brooklyn! Pizza phenomenal, sandwiches and pasta extremely tasteful. Very generous portions with more than reasonable prices. Finally as pleasant was to briefly meet the young owner it was sad to find out also that a great looking place suffer from local regulations and not to be able to have full sit down service and active bar! This was a pretty big let down. We were excited for the new and improved Carini's and placed a pick-up order. The $22 for a "vegetable pesto pizza" already seemed a bit much but we were willing to pay for good food. Unfortunately, when we got home and looked at our pie, it was pretty burnt. I'm no stranger to NY pizza, but even by their standards, this crust was pretty charred and unpleasant to eat. Additionally, I wouldn't call it a "pesto" pizza as there was no pesto to be found! I feel that was misleading and this should simply be called a vegetable pizza. I would say the same for their Truffle Fries as there was no truffle flavor to be found. No truffle oil, no truffle shavings, nada. These should simply be called "Parmesan Fries" as that's all that could be tasted. Additionally, their pastries, minus the alfajores which were good, were stale and lacked the decadence a pastry should have. All of this makes it difficult to want to visit again, which is a shame considering the lack of convenient eateries in the area. Instead of overcharging for the convenience, I believe they would have a loyal following with more reasonable prices and better attention to detail. read more

The service here was awful! We walked in about 2 hours beforr they closed with a party of 6 and told us that they couldnt sit us. There was a table of 4 and 2 open. Even shen we offtered to split up they said no and gave us the absolute worse attitude. It was very unpleasant! We would have just left but there aren't pany places in the area so we ordered to go since it was late. Their attitude was still pretty negative while we ordered. So after waiting about 45 min for our takeout order, we went home and the food was good tasty, good portions sizes. However, since the service was so absolutely terrible and we were treated sooo badly I really do not think my family will be coming here again. read more

I always have a great meal when I come here. This is my go-to spot to bring out-of-town family and friends for dinner. I am not a big fan of their pizza but that is likely because I am a lifelong New Yorker and have eaten at the best pizzerias the City has to offer. Their pasta dishes, however, are absolutely delicious. I particularly enjoy the Chicken Sorrentino and Chicken Francese. My servers were always friendly and courteous even on busy Saturday nights when the place was packed and the phone was constantly ringing. I was anxious to try the house made gelato so I had some on my last visit. unfortunately, I was sadly disappointed. The only one I kind of enjoyed was the mango sorbet. We came in to eat and the hostess/waitress Kaitlin was rude. There were empty tables and she wouldn't seat us and refused to put two tables for two together. We ate the night before and the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. When we told her the night before the staff had no issue seating us and putting tables together she was rude and walked away. When she returned we asked for a Manager and she stated there wasn't one on staff and they were too busy to speak. We ordered a pizza as an appetizer and waited close to an hour for a pizza. Then they served us one of our main courses prior to the Pizza and the other two came at the same time the pizza came.
