But once he got his payment, his availability became scarce -- it was often very difficult to schedule conversations over the phone. On top of that, the staff was rude and condescending most of the time. Ideally, you should want a lawyer that is there for you when you need, estate planning is not a one time event. But today was the tipping point. He was more than 25 minutes late for our scheduled appointment (which was made 3 weeks prior!), I called his office at the supposed meeting time, but they said he was running late and that he would call me back soon. I waited a long time, but no calls. When I checked my e-mail later on, he sent me a message saying he tried to contact me and when I called back I was informed I lost my appointment slot and I needed to re-schedule. The only issue is that there were no missed calls on my phone, and no voicemail. When I said that to him, he insisted that he called me and that I needed to re-schedule the meeting. I complained that it was not my fault but his, he was late after all, he had the audacity to say that I should apologize for saying that and also say "I do not know who you think you are". What was "disputed" is his receipt of a citation. I work in Auto insurance claims, and most jurisdictions do not issue citations for auto accidents.....because unless the police officer actually witnessed the accident, how can he or she testify to the citation? I knew we had a strong case based on my experience, but Rick was outstanding with VERY quick follow up to my email inquiry and put me at ease. What put me even more at ease was the flat rate he charges. I am not going to call out the amount (not sure its appropriate), but the VERY reasonable fee made the decision to have Rick represent my son a no-brainer. Rick showed up for my son on his court date and was able to get the citation dismissed! That easy! Listen to me, if you are in an accident and receive a citation, do NOT accept it and have Rick represent you (if you are in the Tampa area).
