I hired Ray Ross Plumbing to replace a simple tub/shower valve and spout, and they turned a working bathroom into a nonstop headache. Initially I needed to fix a very stiff bathtub handle. There was no leak at all before their work. Immediately afterward, the new spout started dripping every 3 minutes, and the hot and cold handles stopped working independently--turning the hot off would also kill the cold, which is completely wrong for a two‑handle tub. I contacted them repeatedly. They came back twice. The first time they flushed it and said there was debris in the O ring and it 100% fixed. It was not. I had to wait another week to have them come back they swapped out the cartridges, but the problems never went away. I had to document everything on video, time the drips myself, and basically do the diagnostic work they should have done. Another contractor has since told me it's very likely they overheated and damaged the new valve during installation (for example, soldering with rubber parts still inside), which would explain the drip and the crossover. In other words, their work likely ruined the brand‑new valve they installed. Despite multiple chances, they have not fixed what they broke, and I've now had to shut off water to the tub and pay a different plumber nearly $1,000 to rip out and replace the whole valve and spout just to get back to a functioning bathroom. I would never recommend this company--if anything goes wrong with their work, be prepared to fight to be heard, do your own documentation, and hire someone else to clean up the mess. read more

Good plumbers are hard to come by. I know this because the one I hired a couple months ago just did a short-term fix to the leaky water valve behind my refrigerator. It was about 2:00 in the afternoon, and we were selling our house the next morning. When we detached the water line, it started leaking everywhere and we needed it fixed NOW. The job was routine which was to install a new shower faucet with drain and handles in a dark color, different from the original color. it took almost a month to finally do the job and then Tim forgot to add a couple of parts when completing the shower faucet which they charged an extra 85 dollars in labor and 75 for parts. Overall not happy to pay for extra labor when the job should have been completed the first time out! Recently moved to the area and needed a drain line installed for my washer and a water line installed on my ice maker. Ray came out and gave a very competitive estimate compared to other companies in the area. Their office worked with my schedule to set up a date and time for an install. Tim and Jake came to do the installs and were very professional about the entire process. They explained how they were going to do the install. They had the water of for minimal time. Called Ray's team for fixing a main line sewer block which was not draining the water. They showed up on time and used the snake to clear out roots which were clogging the drain. However, due to the amount of roots which had infested the sewer line, they were not able to proceed further. Another company came in and was able to clear the line using the jetting technology. Ray didn't charge me for the work they did initially for snaking the line since they felt that another company was able to do what they couldn't. I was very impressed with the price, quality and professionalism of Ray Ross Plumbing. They were very careful with my personal belongings (that were in the way) and cleaned up before they left. They also did "extra" repairs that they were not asked to do and did not have to. After they left, I thought my heat was not working and left a message. We had no hot water upstairs randomly at 11:00 at night in the middle of the work week. We got a hold of Ray early the next morning and he agreed to squeeze us into his schedule. I just used this company for the first time to repair a damaged refrigerator water line and install a hot water heater. From my first impression with the lady on the phone (she was able to move things around and fit me in on the same day I called for water line) and was very kind and responsive in providing updates on when the plumber was to arrive. I initially called to replace a damaged refrigerator water line. I wish I remembered everyone's names because they all deserve a shout out, but the first guy came down to shut off the main water line and asked me if I noticed that my hot water heater was starting to leak (low and behold it was). So he saved me a disaster before it happened (THANK YOU). He didn't have time to replace it that day and it wasn't an emergency yet, but I scheduled them to come back out today. Tim and Steve came exactly at the time promised first thing this AM (and I mean exactly!!) and replaced the water heater quickly and courteously. Customer service at this company is top notch and their prices are very reasonable too considering how expensive emergency plumbing services can be.
