Built in 1928, the 7th Street Theatre is a local treasure. In its early years, it hosted vaudeville…read moreacts and became the very first theatre in Washington to present "talkies." In 1987, the theatre was successfully listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The interior of the theatre itself is a glorious example of an "atmospheric" theatre. Instead of the bland curtain covered walls of modern theatres, here, you are transported through architectural elements and ornamentation to a Spanish courtyard under an evening sky. Periodically, the theatre presents classic movies. I was able to attend a showing of The Goonies, and while I already have this in my personal movie collection, getting the chance to see it once again on the big screen for the first time since 1985 was too tempting to pass up..."Goonies Never Say Die!" There are fewer than 50 Atmospheric Theatres left in the entire world. If you ever get a chance to attend a movie or live performance at this one, do yourself a favor and go to the show!

Yes concessions are expensive. But for me its part of the experience, I love a big tub of buttered popcorn and ice cold pepsi with my first run movie. Sound was decent for small venue. Seats were comfortable enough and clean. Movie times posted were accurate. I'd recommend this place if you're looking to see a flick out here in my hometown of Astoria :)

When we got in we found that the movie was showing in the little theater (#2). So, not so big a screen after all. The seats were pretty filled up and we were towards the back where there was a faint but distinct puke-ey smell and a nearby sidewall light that shined in our eyes even after being turned down for the movie. After 20 minutes of commercials the movie finally started, and the sound was so low that we could only make out half the dialog. We left after 10 minutes and are done with going to movie theaters.

As an old fart i have many fond memories of drive-ins, piling into the car in our jammies, seeing the latest Clint Eastwood movie...so I was delighted to hear Neptune had worked with the community to bring it back as fantastic solution to the COVID problem. They erected a decent sized screen, built a projector house; modern technology via FM transmitter (95.5) eliminates the need for the clunky old wired systems of the olden days. So, you go into the lobby (mask on!), say how many tiks you need, get your popcorn and soda and go park (or you can park first) - for two adults, one large popcorn and medium drink it was $25. Yes. You heard right. I even walked back into the lobby thinking they undercharged me. GREAT VALUE. And btw, its the cutest little theatre lobby this side of the Mississippi. Great, friendly staff inside. The previews and 'movie trivia' are locally and professionally produced with, likely, the proprietors children? Very cute! And they leveraged a local production company here in my home of Ocean Park, which did a fantastic job. The movie was nice and bright. At times the FM sound drifted a bit, usually during low volume parts. Since it was cold, we ran the engine intermittently, luckily our subaru didnt insist on turning on the headlights as some other modern cars do. Even in the rain, with intermittent windshield wipers, we really enjoyed the show! No Mask! And theres an INTERMISSION! "Lets all go to the lobby...." They had some tempting food at great prices (next time I'll come hungry) Anyway, GREAT JOB Neptune & co.! I hope they retain the drive in as a wonderful novelty for 'normal times' - Long Beach Visitors ought to add it to their list of 'what to dos in LB'. We'll be back! The theatre was pretty easy to find and parking in the area was simple to find for the 2pm showing. The theatre is under renovation currently and all proceeds from ticket sales go towards the renovations. No 3 Tattoo sponsored the event and was raffling off a sweet swag basket and lo & behold my ticket won! My Dad was very nostalgic and had a great time, so did my Mom & I. The theatre will be amazing once restorations are complete. They are having a year long film series and I hope to stop by here again to support a great cause. When it's done, at 1,000 seats, it will be the largest performance space between Tacoma and Portland. COME! Turns out they keep it raised until about 4 o'clock while they brew beer behind the theater, then the screen comes down later for basketball, games, and movies. Honestly, that just made me appreciate the place even more. I walk all over Seaside trying different spots, little hidden places, tourist places, all of it, and somehow this still ends up being my favorite lunch spot in town. The food never disappoints. Ever. The prices are shockingly good for what you get, and they somehow manage to get food out fast without sacrificing quality. What I love most is the space. Even when town is packed, you are not jammed in elbow to elbow with people. Families, kids, locals, everybody just looks comfortable there. Big open historic theater, great food, quick service, sports on the screen later in the day, and good atmosphere without the chaos. Screen up or screen down, this place is one of my favorites. I know this is a chain theater in a mall, but I've never had a bad experience. Ticketing is easy…read more(full disclosure: I use the app, which makes it easier, and put tickets in my Apple Wallet, which makes it easier still), the seats and screens have always been in good repair, the bathrooms are clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. We're in the premium movie club, so we pay for a subscription, but as much as we go to movies, it pays for itself. If you go quite a bit, I recommend it. I just wish it worked for Fathom and other events. My only complaints are that the floor in the snack area is often very sticky, but that is 100% the fault of customers slopping their sodas and Icees around, and the fact that in the men's room doesn't have privacy dividers between urinals.
