This adorable movie theater has two screening rooms. They are pretty good size! We got to sit on one of the couches in the middle of the theater and we're very comfortable! The concession stand was great and their combo deals were awesome. We got two sodas, two candies and a large popcorn for around $22! Very reasonable for a movie theatre. We were staying in Astoria and it was definitely worth the 30 minute drive to come out to Neptune theater! We will definitely be back! read more

Oh my goodness - during this dreadful pandemic, there are some rare instances of creative business owners turning lemons into, well, yummy theatre popcorn - Neptune has brought back the: DRIVE IN MOVIE THEATRE!! As an old fart i have many fond memories of drive-ins, piling into the car in our jammies, seeing the latest Clint Eastwood movie...so I was delighted to hear Neptune had worked with the community to bring it back as fantastic solution to the COVID problem. They erected a decent sized screen, built a projector house; modern technology via FM transmitter (95.5) eliminates the need for the clunky old wired systems of the olden days. So, you go into the lobby (mask on!), say how many tiks you need, get your popcorn and soda and go park (or you can park first) - for two adults, one large popcorn and medium drink it was $25. Yes. You heard right. I even walked back into the lobby thinking they undercharged me. GREAT VALUE. And btw, its the cutest little theatre lobby this side of the Mississippi. Great, friendly staff inside. The previews and 'movie trivia' are locally and professionally produced with, likely, the proprietors children? Very cute! And they leveraged a local production company here in my home of Ocean Park, which did a fantastic job. The movie was nice and bright. At times the FM sound drifted a bit, usually during low volume parts. Since it was cold, we ran the engine intermittently, luckily our subaru didnt insist on turning on the headlights as some other modern cars do. Even in the rain, with intermittent windshield wipers, we really enjoyed the show! No Mask! And theres an INTERMISSION! "Lets all go to the lobby...." They had some tempting food at great prices (next time I'll come hungry) Anyway, GREAT JOB Neptune & co.! I hope they retain the drive in as a wonderful novelty for 'normal times' - Long Beach Visitors ought to add it to their list of 'what to dos in LB'. We'll be back! This small theater in the middle of town is fantastic! The popcorn and nachos were great. I get cold in movie theaters so it was awesome that they had blankets to borrow. There's a few comfy couches with small tables throughout the theater as well. The ads before the movie seem to be made by a local company and were super cute. I love this theater! I'm obsessed really! I wish I lived in Long Beach so I could come here for every show. Here visiting family for the holidays & have seen 3 movies here! The decor in the lobby is ADORABLE! All my favorite Disney characters on every wall. Price for tickets are extremely reasonable! The Neptune reusable cups are awesome, I have two! The drive-in option was so much fun! Took my 5 year old for his first drive-in experience & it was the best! Memories for life! Also shout out to the homemade movie commercials, I loveee that! Had a delightful time last week viewing the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie! Haven't been to a movie in three years. We are locals and used to go to the movies weekly so this was a nice start to renewed entertainment. Movie house looks great after an extensive renovation. It was extremely clean and organized. The prices were pretty similar to other locations, wishing they had senior rates as it helps people with a fixed income. There are two theaters available. They have regular stadium seating, or you can choose some couches or loveseats with small tables in front of them, a nice break from the hard seats. There are even lap blankets for your use! One of the best features is you can put your own butter on! Hooray! Come on in and give them a try, you will be delighted!!! read more

Small theater in Long Beach. The screens aren't very big but they do a good job and you can tell the staff work very hard to keep the place clean. Usually plays 2 or 4 movies at a time and they aren't always the latest but it can be a nice place to grab a flick while in the area. Their popcorn isn't bad either. What can you say about the only theater in a small beach tourist town? It's a little bit run down, it sort of looks like a theater and sort of doesn't but it has two large screens and projectors and thats good enough for me. When you walk in, there is a small ticket window to the right of the front doors. It's pretty novel if you ask me because they could just sell you your ticket(s) right from the concession counter that is a mere 10 feet in the door but nonetheless, the man comes out from the concession stand and meets you at the window. You buy your tickets (which are super dooper reasonable by the way) and then he goes back over to the concession counter where you purchase your popcorn and soda and candy etc... Nothing fancy here. No flat screen LCD monitors as menus, no crazy menus with pizza or hot dogs or nachos or ice cream etc... Just good ole' plan movie theater items. When you're ready to find your seat, you'll either go to the right or to the left. We went to the left as that is the auditorium where Furious 7 was playing. Now, I don't know about the peak season or if this theater really has a peak season but what I do know is that on April 24th at 9:10 in the evening. We had no problems finding a seat. In fact, there were only three of us total there to see the feature. The seats have been updated and are fairly comfortable. I could tell because you can see where the old seats used to be anchored to the floor. There is not curtain in front of the screen and the fabric on the walls is a bit ragged in places but I was pretty impressed with the surround sound. Heck, after going to the theaters near where I live, paying an arm and a leg to sit in a crowded theater where 20% of the people won't shut up during the movie and 45% of them stare at their phones throughout the whole movie, The Neptune Twin Theaters were a breath of fresh air. It's just too bad that the theater couldn't earn enough money giving private showings. LOL. Even with the run down appearance and the ragged fabric etc... This was the best movie theater experience that I've had in years. Really though, if you're reading this review, it's most likely because you are in Long Beach and you are looking for something to do. Even if you've already seen the movies that are showing, go see them again. This is clearly a family run business. I do believe that the owners live in the same building as they work and they do it with their children playing right alongside their workspace. A business like this has a tough time keeping it's doors open in a place like Long Beach and I know that they do it for the love of motion pictures and the love of bringing the movies and theater experience to their community so go and see a movie! Get a large bucket of popcorn and a large soda and three candy items because you know you want something chocolate, something fruity and something chewy all at the same time. Maybe it's raining or maybe the other places are closed. Maybe it's hot out and you want to cool off, maybe you are bored or maybe they are showing that movie that you wanted to see but forgot about. Whatever it may be, take a couple of hours and go enjoy a flick. You deserve it and so do the hard working people at The Neptune! read more

The local Long Beach cinema is a great place to ride out the sometimes unpredictable weather on the peninsula. The flicks tend toward the bigger movies (GI Joe, Harry Potter) and kids movies (G-Force) as you'd expect for a theater in the middle of a small beach town. I've never been a popcorn fan, but everyone tells me that it is very good. Next time you're at the beach and find it is rainy and in the 60's, escape to the movies for a few hours. read more

The wife and I have taken in a couple of movies here. You wouldn't except much by the looks on the outside alone, but once you're in the lobby you can see that it is well taken care of. The theatre snack counter is small but they have everything you'd like to see. Seats are comfy. Picture and sound quality are great. Only negative, cash only! ATM inside lobby though. read more
