Tasty BBQ. My favorite part is probably the endless fresh rolls. If you've ever been to the chain Texas Roadhouse, this is the type of place it's trying (and failing) to emulate.

Walked in & the food smelt amazing, tasted even better. Their sliced brisket is perfect. Service was great the guy recommended the regular plate & this lovely lady brought us fresh rolls. I loved the vibe of the place, very rustic fits fit right in.

I've tried multiple times to eat here, but they were out of meat. I understand there is only so much you can BBQ, and if you run out, well, you can't just light up the grill and cook some more on the spot. I really hoped this was a good sign. Unfortunately, it was not. I ordered the pork with coleslaw and green beans. The pork was bland and almost as it was rinsed off. I know, strange, but that's the only way I could describe it. All I can say was the coleslaw saved it because it was decent, and I mixed it with the pork, some BBQ sauce, and chopped up raw onions. Made it so I could somewhat enjoy it. Our party had 11 people, we were there celebrating so no-one wanted to be the party proper, but I could tell by the looks (and the subsequent conversation outside). My brothers brisket was dry and, for the most part, flavorless as well. My sil ordered the sausage with brisket. She had the same opinion and joked about the sausage being ok but that they didn't even make it there! My last complaint was the banana pudding, I've tasted better banana pudding at hospitals. Clearly, it was packaged, and the wafers were scarse. On the good note, the bread was or seemed fresh out of the oven, and I enjoyed it with honey. I tried using the butter, but I swear that had been whipped up and thinned somehow, too. I realize butter has gotten expensive, but it didn't have any flavor either. Regarding the facilities, I didn't use the restroom, so I can't comment on that. There was plenty of parking, and the service was what I like to describe as typical of this small town... just enough to get away with it. If your culinary requirements AREN'T very high, patronize at your own risk. I won't be visiting again soon, since there are other places in the county that do better BBQ

This place is a little whole in the wall with big flavor. They have the best BBQ in Wise county Texas. They have smoked brisket, turkey, sausage and all the sides you can think of even huge baked potatoes. You can order separately or a plate of food and take out by the pound. They come around with fresh hot rolls that are to die for. Stop on by and sit a spell as they say in Texas and have some sweet tea!

We just had BBQ yesterday from Terry Blacks. Today's experience was phenomenal. The folks were super nice. They have Texas Twinkie's...my absolute favorite. Theirs is 5 stars. Smoked perfectly. They weren't over powered with cheese. I ordered ham. It looked dry and I was worried when she was slicing it. It was anything but dry. Smoked perfectly and tasty. I loved it. Great flavor. The brisket was fatty, tender and pull apart deliciousness. My sis loved her pulled pork sandwich. Proudly exclaimed 5 stars! We tried their jalapeño Mac n cheese, green beans, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans and macaroni salad. The Mac n cheese. Heavenly and the best I've had in Texas. We loved their potato salad. I'm telling you it was perfection. It's a mashed potato salad...and I'd argue like the Mac n cheese the best I've ever had. Coleslaw was creamy and not too sweet and we also really liked their macaroni salad. 2 things. Green beans weren't seasoned. Super bland. And I'm not a fan of how they prepackage their sides and you grab it out of the warmer or cooler. Their sides are some of the best in DFW. Let people see the product. Preparing them ahead gives a generic look and feel. I almost forgot the banana pudding. Soooo good. A must try! I liked that the lady stopped by and how everything was...it was warm and genuine. Bottom line 5 stars. We really really enjoyed it. We will back!

So, not sure how many times I have been here now, but it's a lot; going back over the prior year…read more Biggest challenge for me is hours of operation. They are currently only open a few days a week for a few hours on those select days. Bummer. I'm not going to get into whether or not this place is good, I've already addressed it in prior reviews and updates; in one word it's 'stellar'. The proprietor; Derek has done a tremendous job moving from very small outlet to a very cool large restaurant facility. I took five people there on Saturday and it was a great experience. Derek personally brought the food out. We chatted for a bit, I congratulated him on his growing his business. He said in one day, he does more revenue than he did in a weeks time at his prior "to go" only location. Good for him, he's a true American success story that clearly busted his butt to build his business. If only we had more of those. He's got a great formula. I can't criticize anything he's done; even the bathrooms are spotless and top notch. Whoever built out the plumbing in his place is truly an artist, you have to look at the details, it's not a budget operation. Kudos to this guy for killing it and putting a great crew together. If you haven't tried it you're doing yourself a disservice. If I'm disappointed about one thing, it's the fact he doesn't have those tallow based salted chocolate chip cookies anymore; at least that I could tell. I forgot to ask him about it. He may have had trouble getting consistent quality from his baker, but they were just absolutely awesome and a hell of a deal in my opinion. Pro Tip: I mentioned that I had a pellet grill and I wasn't able to get enough smoke flavor into the meat. It turns out he started on the same one I have. I've got a Yoder YS 640 competition model. He gave me some solid pointers. I can't wait to try them. It will never be as good as his, but hopefully I can improve.

Driving around Texas eating BBQ on the Texas Monthly Top 50 so we had to drop by North Texas Smoke…read more I knew that this place was popular and might sell out fast so I started calling and DM this place as we really did want so brisket. The problem occurred when we showed up and were told that they were out of Brisket. After a brief conversation with the lady taking orders and the pit master they were able to find us some chopped and sliced brisket, THANK YOU. The brisket was good as were the ribs but the star of the show was the boudin. We got our order to go. So the process is order and pay out 1 window then wait to hear your name so that you can get your order. When we visited the place was hard to find and we drove past it once as they did not have a sign. It's a nice place and the food was good. My recommendation try hard to order early and call them several times before they run out of brisket.

They also have three pool tables and TVs. The menu is extensive and the prices reasonable for BBQ. Seems like a favorite of the locals. I though they would be playing C&W, but they had 60's and 70's music on. The squeeze and I split a two meat plate with brisket and sausage and two sides, cowboy cole slaw and Rooster Tails (Deep fried onion petals). The brisket was moist and very tender, with a slight smokiness. The sausage was deeply smoked, sliced in half and charred a bit on the flattop. The slaw and Rooster Tails were really good. A nice slightly spicy dip was served with the onions. Good BBQ sauce for the brisket, and they also had a wall of pain with some choice hot sauces on it. I didn't partake, since I have a flight to catch in the morning. They brought a second plate for no charge. The squeeze had a canned IPA and I had a Shiner Bock draft for libations. We really enjoyed the meal. Morgan was an excellent server and didn't try to shoo us out even though more customers were coming in. I wish I lived around here so I could try the other items on the menu.
