The trilogy- 3 meat and 3 sides
    Paul M.

As I walked into this restaurant you could smell the wonderful aroma of brisket in the air. I ordered the trilogy which consisted of the following: 3 meats of your choice 3 sides of your choice My meat selection: brisket, turkey and ribs My 3 side selection: chorizo Mac and cheese, Cole slaw and potato salad. The service was great: the order counter was located to the left as you entered the restaurant, walking past all the seating area. Once you ordered you received your cups for drinks and was given a buzzard the size of a business card that would notify you once your meal was ready. The counter located at the back of the restaurant was where all the wonderful workers were preparing your meal. These 3 ladies had it all worked out, by listening to the conversations that were being had while ensuring all the food was prepared properly. Pictures are added to show the serving methods and presentation of the meal that was ordered. The meats were cooked perfectly! Brisket was tender and moist! Turkey was cooked perfectly! Extremely tender and moist. The pork ribs were so tender they were falling off the bone and the ribs were wonderfully seasoned for each bite. 3 the sides: 1)Chorizo Mac and cheese: Had a great taste, but the worst part of it was that the cheese sauce was like water. The sauce needed to be thicker, so that it would stick to the noodles. 2) Cole slaw was different for me, as I tasted it you tasted a strong vinaigrette taste and a very strong seasoning possibly paprika, but not sure. This side was not for me. 3) Potato salad was perfect to the taste! It was made out of red potatoes and had bite size chunks in it. Wonderful taste and texture! Great customer service I would return to this location for the meats only. I would recommend you give this place a try and see what you think of it. Coat of the meal was 40.05 with 2 drinks included.

Fantastic TexMex BBQ in little old Jacksboro, less than an hour from Ft.Worth. Brisket, Ribs, Sausage, Turkey and Sides are all Phenomenal. Service was Fantastic, you won't find better anywhere! Great spot that's bigger than it looks, right on the Courthouse Square. Treviño's Craft Smokehouse is a BBQ Destination!!

Anyone who can create fall-apart tender brisket has my vote! I loved the meat sauce, elote street corn side, and banana crème dessert served in a cinnamon dusted taco bowl. The owners and staff were friendly and made the visit very enjoyable and worth the trip.

Another amazing BBQ experience. This is the best I have ever had. Ever!!

Initially, I said that I was in the mood for a lighter lunch, but when we read some of the many 5-star reviews for Juan and Allie's BBQ that said things like "I will always come here whenever I am within a six hour drive", I changed my mind. So we pulled off the highway and about a half-mile into the small town of Sunset. I realized we were at the spot when the faint smell of wood smoke trickled to my nose from the side of a weatherbeaten building with a "Backyard BBQ" banner tacked to the front. Walking inside, we were greeted by nods from a table of men in work boots and jeans, and then promptly welcomed by Allie herself. She indicated the day's menu on the board and helpfully answered our questions. The inside dining area was comfortable and homey, even if like the outside it had seen better days. Sagging ceiling tiles and duct tape repairs told the story of getting by and focusing on the important things. It is a real family-run operation, with Juan smoking the meats and Allie making the sides, along with waiting tables. On the day we visited at least, it was just the two of them working. Of course I had to order brisket since it was Texas, but the sides presented a more challenging decision. After hearing Allie's description of their cowboy beans, I chose those and the potato salad. She disappeared into the back room, and soon returned with a large metal tray containing slices of brisket and Texas-sized portions of sides. The brisket was beautifully smoked and sliced, and flavor was perfect. The only deduction I have to make was due to it being a little less tender than I would expect from a great brisket. It went down easily despite having said I was not in the mood for a pile of meat, but I did have to make use of my knife a little more than usual. The sides were big on home-cooked flavor. In both, I noticed a big difference from typical southern or big-name barbecue joints in that they were not overly sweet but relied on more earthy seasonings for their taste. They were excellent complements to the beef, and deserve some recognition of their own. After our meal was done, we chatted with Juan outside for a minute, where we learned some of the details mentioned above. It would have been cool to hear more about their story, but they had work to do and we had to get back on the road. So we pulled back onto the highway, having experienced a friendly welcome to Texas and a satisfying first meal in the Lone Star State.

Beyond the cleanliness, the atmosphere is warm and exceptionally welcoming. The staff is genuinely friendly, and the owners go out of their way to ensure every guest feels truly taken care of. It is rare to find a place that balances such professional upkeep with a personal, "home-away-from-home" feel. Highly recommended for anyone in the area looking for a quality experience. The food is great. The plates are small ( which is fine ) but it would have been nice to have a bit of room to cut up my food , and I'd add a second side to anything that's not a sandwich, but even with just one side ( steaks get two ) you don't leave hungry. ( extra sides are 4 a piece) The only other suggestion is a basket of homemade bread would be perfect for this establishment . It's a southern food , steaks and gravy type place. A basket of bread would make it perfect . Great place though . We would go out of our way to stop again.

It's a bit of a drive from Granbury, but 100% worth it for consistently great Texas BBQ. The meats are always smoked perfectly with excellent flavor and tenderness, we love loading up on brisket, ribs, sausage, and whatever else looks good that day. We've dined in multiple times and also ordered big family plates to bring home for parties, holidays, and events. Everything travels well and still tastes fresh & huge hit with our whole crew. The sides are homemade and solid (the mac & cheese and potato salad get mentioned a lot in our house), and the portions are generous for the price. The rustic, down-home Texas atmosphere is part of the charm, friendly service, plenty of parking, and fun shops nearby (like the giant rocking chair spot).
