I finally got to try Trevino's in Jacksboro! We live in Lubbock, so it seems like we are always passing through to the metroplex on a day or time they are not opened. I'm so glad we made it during operating hours this time. It did not disappoint! The dining room is large and roomy with several long picnic tables and booths. It was very clean and the counter service was quick and courteous. My husband and I shared the three meat plate. The portions are generous! We had the chopped brisket, sausage, and ribs with coleslaw, street corn, and charro beans. The coleslaw is not sweet, but so good. The cabbage appears to be shredded in house. The street corn is not a sweet cream corn, but it was creamy and it had max flavor without too much heat. The charro beans were also flavorful (I hate bland beans). We were stuffed, but mixed the beans with the last of our chopped brisket and it was delicious! All meats were so good, but the ribs were our favorite! Great flavor. They were firm enough to stay on the bone, but also so tender that it pulled off the bone easily with each bite. Perfection! If we were not on our keto kick, we would have had ordered a sopapilla bowl and banana pudding - both looked amazing! Trevino's is definitely worth the stop! @Texas Monthly... where you at? Been waiting to get here so finally asked the wife for a Trevino BBQ lunch for my birthday. Easy to find and great parking, they opened right on time with only a few people in line on the Friday. Super clean and bright with warm greetings when we walked in. The menu is in color in a large monitor when you come to the counter where you can see the ladies ready to put your order together. We had the Pulga Platter which has some of every meat, and four sides. Also comes with pickled red onions, fresh jalapeño slices and spicy dill pickles. Brisket=superb: moist, super tender, great smoke ring and outstanding flavor. Pork Ribs=excellent, have to say they are much better than the ones I cook. Perfect cook, smoky flavor and great rub. Pulled pork has a small bit of sauce on top and it was very, very good. Put a bit in between the fresh tortillas they gave us and wow! Turkey was simply Devine, even though I normally don't like turkey. Homemade sausage and jalapeño cheese sausage were very good with a tight grind. Nice pop of the casing too. Meat was 5 star all the way. Chorizo Mac and cheese was great, earlier reviews did not like the texture of the sauce but that is fixed for sure. Not too spicy but perfect pasta and a great taste to the sauce. Potato salad was excellent, love the chunks of potato you get every few bites. Street corn has bright, popping flavors, excellent. The coleslaw was good. I read about the vinegar based sauce but the recipe must have changed because it is a savory slaw, just needed a bit more salt. The platter also comes with warm, homemade flour tortillas and potato bread slices. We will be back many times over since we missed a Waygu fajitas special today. Oh. My. Goodness. We stumbled across Trevino's when we were camping at nearby Fort Richardson State Park and we are so glad we did!! Loved the spot on the square. Loved the Friday Night Lights flare. Enjoyed looking at everything on the walls. But when it comes to Texas BBQ, Trevino's is unsurpassed. Had the brisket, sausage, and ribs and I was in love at first bite! And let me tell you, the sides are equally scrumptious!! So much food we had leftovers, which we ate as tacos on their housemade tortillas and I had to come write this review. As I walked into this restaurant you could smell the wonderful aroma of brisket in the air. I ordered the trilogy which consisted of the following: 3 meats of your choice 3 sides of your choice My meat selection: brisket, turkey and ribs My 3 side selection: chorizo Mac and cheese, Cole slaw and potato salad. The service was great: the order counter was located to the left as you entered the restaurant, walking past all the seating area. Once you ordered you received your cups for drinks and was given a buzzard the size of a business card that would notify you once your meal was ready. The counter located at the back of the restaurant was where all the wonderful workers were preparing your meal. These 3 ladies had it all worked out, by listening to the conversations that were being had while ensuring all the food was prepared properly. Pictures are added to show the serving methods and presentation of the meal that was ordered. The meats were cooked perfectly! Brisket was tender and moist! Turkey was cooked perfectly! Extremely tender and moist. The pork ribs were so tender they were falling off the bone and the ribs were wonderfully seasoned for each bite. 3 the sides: 1)Chorizo Mac and cheese: Had a great taste, but the worst part of it was that the cheese sauce was like water. The sauce needed to be thicker, so that it would stick to the noodles. 2) Cole slaw was different for me, as I tasted it you tasted a strong vinaigrette taste and a very strong seasoning possibly paprika, but not sure. This side was not for me. 3) Potato salad was perfect to the taste! It was made out of red potatoes and had bite size chunks in it. Wonderful taste and texture! Great customer service I would return to this location for the meats only. I would recommend you give this place a try and see what you think of it. No thanks. The food was decent -- definitely not up to the hype I'd seen online. They were not serving any beans. Weren't out -- it was 11:20. Just... no beans today, at a BBQ restaurant! The brisket was good enough. The waffle fries, too. But the sauce was just weird. The "Chori-Queso- Mac" was essentially soup made from thinned-down ballpark nacho cheese, with some noodles floating around in it. The bread? A single tiny tortilla. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I drove 45 miles to get there on the advice of some folks online. They must either be locals, relatives, or maybe the business owners. Next time I want BBQ, heading to one of the usual places. Same with Tex-Mex. I don't have enough extra money lying around to go paying $20 (before tax) and an hour's drive for that. read more

We made the drive from the metroplex for opening service in their new digs! Let me tell you it was worth it!! The brisket melts in your mouth with a fantastic flavor of seasoning and smoke. The sausage was crisp on the outside and soooo juicy on the inside had GREAT flavor (not too much heat but just enough). The sandwich was on point with the delicious brisket and a welcomed bonus of a brioche bun that was phenomenal--The sauce, pickles and onions are some of my favorites from anywhere! Now, on to the sides, because that is as important as the meats these days! They DID NOT disappoint! The potato salad is like out of this world like nothing you've ever had before, the street corn side is AMAZING, but let's focus on the macaroni and cheese. This was the best I have ever had, & this from a gal who doesn't usually like, let alone order Mac n cheese! I'm eager to try the others!! Do NOT forget about the tacos and green sauce!!!! Definitely will be returning as they grow, and we look forward to watching!! Make a day trip, the state park out there (Fort Richardson) is worth some time spent, and there are several things to see and do (and eat!). Stayed at Fort Richardson and came into Jacksboro to eat. Trevino's was EXCELLENT. We got the three meat 3 sides. Ribs, pulled pork and turkey were cooked to perfection. The sides were wonderful. Mac and cheese (wow) and street corn were great. Definitely worth the stop. We will be back. read more

My son and my DIL came to Treviño's for barbecue. My son told me that they sell fast and we arrived after lunch hours. Anyway, we had their Family Platters called the Tiger which consisted of brisket, sausage, ribs, smoked turkey, and your choice of sides (potato salad, street corn, mac and cheese). We also ordered desserts. I have to say, I enjoyed the food at Treviño's very much. My son had taken me to several barbecue places in Texas, and so far, this is my number one pick. Taste of course is subjective but my entire experience here was far the best one. The owner and his wife are friendly and humble folks. Prices were reasonable.
