I believe this is the first Yelp review I have ever written, but I've been compelled to through what has been a truly awful experience with this specific Raymour & Flanigan location (and more broadly R&F as well). Like, this has been a uniquely terrible experience. We worked with Judy to purchase a mattress back in November. Mattress is great, that is not the problem here. There are many problems. First, after specifically telling Judy we did not want a power base with our mattress, we were charged for one and were sent one along with our mattress. Of course I did not sign for the base, but it took two months and multiple calls hemming and hawing before the refund finally went through. But that was just the beginning. We placed a significant deposit on the mattress and financed the rest through R&F's financing set up. DO NOT DO THIS! Since financing, there have been two separate charges of over $2,000 placed on my finance plan for purchases I DID NOT MAKE. OVER $4,400 IN CHARGES AGAINST MY CREDIT THROUGH NO PURCHASES OF MY OWN. I have make six calls over a month to get these charges removed, but NOBODY can find them. They have no idea what I am talking about. I have called the credit service they use, spoken with R&F customer service and spoken with three different representatives at this specific (East Hanover) location. Nobody has any idea where these charges came from and have been NO HELP at all in getting them removed. At one point I received an email saying an initial $2,000+ charge would be refunded, but instead, that same charge was CHARGED AGAIN to my account. And after spending an hour on the phone trying to get this resolved today, still NOTHING from their team aside from "we've sent an email to our charging company to find out more information." IT HAS BEEN A MONTH WITH NO UPDATES AND MORE THAN $4,000 IN GHOST CHARGES AGAINST MY CREDIT. Again, a truly, uniquely awful experience with Raymour & Flanigan and this location. Never again. Highly, highly recommend anyone interested in making a significant purchase go elsewhere. Awful. read more

I had their service people come out ages ago to look at our sectional and my recliner that we purchased in the beginning of this year. The usb port had stopped working on the sectional. The arm of the recliner was sinking like it didn't have enough padding or the padding in it was of poor quality. The service person basically ignored my complaint about the recliner arm saying there was nothing he could do about it. The other arm on the recliner is fine and so are the ones on the sectional. This is unacceptable that the one arm looks terrible. The service person said he would order a replacement usb port. It has been months and I keep calling and they always have trouble finding my service order and then say someone will get back to me when they finally find it. I want my recliner and sectional both fixed! read more

I was mattress shopping in the area of Livingston and East Hanover and my experience at the Raymour & Flanigan Outlet was one of the best shopping experiences I ever had! The sales associate, Dean, was super friendly, professional, fast, and knowledgable. He selected the PERFECT mattress for me and it was not even close to the more expensive (many thousands) of options available. (In contrast, the surrounding places are abysmal). I had also only ever slept on a Sealy or Serta, so this was my introduction to the brand, Beautyrest. When you try mattresses, R & F provides you with a sanitary sheet (which makes you feel more confident in lying down on the bed in the store) and a gorgeous pillow (that I wound up buying!). I couldn't believe how perfect the mattress was once I received it. Furthermore, the white glove delivery experience was exceptional from timing to communication Dean advised that there was a comfort protection plan available if you buy their mattress cover, in case you are not satisfied with it, and I took it, even though I never am the person who sends things back...but it turns out that I ultimately exchanged my mattress for one step bigger size of the same model, and even that "re-select" experience was handled very professionally by Doug and their competent managers. So then I had a second delivery, and they were also swift and timely. Also, my apartment building had strict COI (Certificate of Insurance) requirements, which R & F adhered to without delay. Now I am thrilled to have the perfect mattress in the perfect size and I am so glad I shopped there! I will go out of my way to shop for items at this store in the future!!!! In case anyone is wondering, the mattress I ordered was the BeautyRest Harmony Opal Sands Plush and it was on sale. (By the way, I noticed that there are negative reviews below...I am convinced that people mostly write reviews when they have a problem, and you don't hear about the 95% who have great experiences.) read more

Does it get any worse when a major company who's mission statement on their cover page on their company website is just plainly a lie. Raymour and Flanigan states "their passionate about making our customers happy." Raymore and Flanigan can say "associates work hard to exceed customer expectations." BUT THE TRUTH is it's lies. When my recliner broke just 2 months after purchasing it at a Raymore and Flanigan they wouldn't fix or replace it. No matter what circumstances such as a sale, closeout, or floor model purchase from such a large company who claims to be passionate about customer happiness and does not take care of a customer with a problem like mine, a broken recliner 2 months after purchase because they don't want to take a hit on profit are not considering how bad that reflects on the Raymore and Flanigan reputation is very short sighted ! I am NOT one who writes reviews, this is my first, but this is wrong for Raymore and Flanigan to not fix or replace my recliner I bought from them. I value good customer service very much, who doesn't right. I do let managers know when an employee is doing a great job and I have called corporations to let Human Resources know when a manager has exceeded great customer service. People work hard and often don't get well deserved recognition for their good work. To Raymour and Flanigan, your all talk and do not live up to your mission statement ! The manager was certainly unsympathetic to my nearly brand new broken recliner and clearly had no intention of living up to the company policy of making customers feel happy. Just sharing my recent visit and to shed light on the way this location operates. I visited this Raymour and Flanigan store knowing exactly what I was looking for (I saw it online). A sales rep greeted me upon my arrival. We found one of the pieces I was looking for; a kitchen table set. As I saw online, it came in gray and white. I asked the rep if I could order the white one (only the gray was on display at the store). He advised me that the white set is a special order that would take longer, but he'd check if it was available in other stores. Once looking into the system, he said it was at a store about 20 miles away and would call to confirm before I made a trip. He asked me for my name and phone number to call me after he spoke to them. I told him that I was fine waiting in the store, but he said it would be easier if I gave him my phone number. I gave him my phone number and he promised he'd call me back shortly. (This was a mistake.) After not hearing from him at all, I called the store 2 days later. I was told that the prices just increased, but that I could come in to speak to the general manager and they'd be accommodating as I was just in the stores days ago and was promised a call back. I arrived for the second time and this time the general manager came to the front. I explained all that happened and advised that all I wanted to do was to order the furniture I set out to get during my first visit with the price honored from that same day, when I was promised I'd get a phone call back. In addition, I had a picture of it on my phone, if he wanted proof. Again, if the first rep. kept his promise, this would not have happened. Not only was the general manager rude to me from the beginning by talking over me, he told me that I should've called to place the order over the phone. I expressed that I preferred to place the order in store (the main reason I went to the store in the first place). He told me "that's your problem". I was astounded! I asked him for his name and he covered his name tag and then took it off. This is completely unacceptable! He then proceeded to raise his voice and tell me to leave. I'm truly disgusted that this behavior came from a general manager. Never have I ever experienced anything like this. A few days later I called the store to ask for the general manager's name; It's Raed Yakan. Having someone like Raed work for Raymour and Flanigan is hurting it's reputation. read more

Probably should have posted this months ago but just got around to it. In December i purchased a $2k sectional with ottoman that was supposed to be delivered in 2 weeks. I had just bought a new house and needed furniture asap. Two weeks roll by and not even a call from raymour Flanagan. I call them and they tell me two more weeks before it will be ready. Another two weeks rolls by and of course still no call. At this point i start getting frustrated and ask to speak with the manager. Even though i had already paid for the couch i told the manager i was sick of waiting for the couch and i was going to start looking elsewhere. Imagine the excitement of buying your first house but having to sit on a camping chair in your living room for the first month+ haha.... The manager (forgot his name but i think Doug?) resassures me that the sectional will be in the following week and that he will give me a $100 gift certificate regardless if i buy a couch elsewhere and cancel this order or go through with the one i paid for. A little over a week later, still no response and i see a beautiful couch in stock at costco. Much nicer sectional for 60% of the cost of the one i already paid for. Bought it on the spot and never looked back. Of course i never received that gift card i was promised, probably because i canceled the order (even though he promised me it). In the end, i understand there are covid related supply chain issues but don't tell me two weeks if its going to take 3x that amount of time. That's just not good business practice and I'm happy that i ended up purchasing elsewhere. bought a recliner. chair seat is hard as a rock and did not work as the one in the showroom. in the whole purchase process, i was never told that all sales are final. i will never buy another item of any type from this company. you all need to know that once an item is deleivered and they leave your premise (and trust me they leave in a hurry), unless you send it back with delivery people, it's yours to keep. you have no recourse for a return. even though the website says you have 72 hours to request up a return. i am now stuck with this chair. you get treated better at bob's. buyer beware!!!! and to add insult to injury, i have to give them 1 star to post this! read more

Nicely appointed store and know you have to park in the back. I went here twice. The first time I was accosted by a salesman and had to tell him I wanted to look first. He gave his card and said the usual platitudes. Prices here were on the up side to me but quality was good. When I went to the salesman to ask him if the store had a scratch and dent department he told me, very nastily, that the outlet was in Wayne and maybe I should go there. He turned away in a huff. The second time I went (within three days of the first) as soon as I opened the door I was accosted by another salesman and when I told him I knew what I wanted to see, he followed me. I had to turn around and tell him that I like to look alone. He stayed in my area. A saleswoman next to him smiled at me and if I had bought something it would have been from her. When I walked out of the store, the same salesman ran behind me to tell me to take his card. I said no thank you and told him I would not be back. Nor will I ever be back at this location. read more

I purchase a fourth floor sample rug and no person explained the return policy. When I called to ask that I need to return the rug is that OK, a customer Service manager Tatiana said I should have read the fine print it on the receipt (which was given to me after the purchase). Furthermore they rolled the rug outwards. When I asked if the rug could be rolled inward to protect the rug, the manager said there's no right way to roll it. I was looking on-line for some dressers and nightstands for our shore home. With that being said, I didn't want to spend a ton of money. I'm glad I decided to go to the store to check out the pieces in person. This stuff is very cheap looking in person and to me not worth the money. Purchased from Bob's which is basically the same price point and much better quality. As a side note, the sofas looked fine and I would consider a sofa from here in the future. read more

This is an update of my post review. I am still waiting for somebody who can help me get my money back. I bought a sofa in October 2018, after a couple of months It broke right in the middle. The store sent somebody to fix it but the guys who came to look at it said it was not possible because the problem was that the sofa doesn't have any kind of support in the middle, just a piece of fabric attached to the frame with staples!! The store gave me the option of only store credit. I want my money back! I don't trust their furniture any more. I bought a bench at the same time and it is already showing the bad quality of this furniture (photo attached) I have spoken to many "supervisors" one of them said it was kind of my fault for not checking the costumers reviews before buying! Another one said that I had only seven days to accept the offer of store credit. I want my money back, apparently this is not an option at this store. I think the sales representatives, at the stores and the store web sides signs that it will let the costumers know that store credit is out only option in case something comes up with the purchase of the products they are selling. If I knew this I would not have had this problem because I would have gone somewhere else to buy my furniture. read more

We're happy with the furniture we bought from them IN PERSON which was a coffee table with pull out benches. Recently, my recliner stopped working and I'm in the market for a new one. They have 60 months same as cash if you want to finance (I have the money, I just don't want to clean out my savings). I applied for the financing on line through TD bank, and was denied in the time it takes for the internet browser to change pages (less than 10 seconds??). I even tried applying on my smart phone because I thought there may have been an issue with the computer browser I was using. Same result!! I do not see how they could have possibly ran my credit and/or processed the application that quickly? Speaking of changing pages, another page came up on the computer that said There's another way!" and to "please apply" for a card through Genesis Financing. Wouldn't you know it, I got approved and didn't even apply for it! This card has a $6,000 and a 34% APR interest rate. They're obviously trying to scam people to get them to pay hundreds of dollars in interest over an extended period of time. Stay away unless you plan to pay cash for whatever you buy from them. read more

I had a great experience in the store, but unfortunately I cannot recommend purchasing furniture from this store because of the customer service/repairs department. My sectional was delivered in August 2018. It is now March 2019 and I am still trying to get two defective cushion covers replaced. So far, this company has sent out a repair tech on 4 separate occasions without the part needed to make the repair. One cushion has now been replaced, but the other has not. The tech will tell you that they will call back to reschedule, but I have to constantly call and hound them to get back to me. It's a shame because the sales team in the store was extremely helpful. read more

I came here with my mom to find furniture for her new place. The woman that helped us was very nice and not pushy. She showed a few items that would meet our needs and budget. We left to visit other stores to be sure we were getting the best price for quality pieces. We ended coming back and purchasing a couch, loveseat, entertainment console, bed, and a dresser. We purchased a protection plan on the couch, loveseat, and bed. Within 30 days the entertainment console's faux wood paneling was coming apart at the edges. We were worried that they would not help us since we didn't buy the protection plan on the console but they sent someone to look at it and they replaced the piece. They said it was defective and we've had the replacement console for about a year with no problems. It's been about a year that we've had the furniture. My dad sits in the same spot on the couch everyday and he's big so recently the couch started to look dented. We called for the protection plan crew to come out and they inserted new fluffy stuff into the couch and it looks new. We're very happy with their service. Definitely get the protection plan! read more

I found Raymour and Flanigan to be very helpful and the chair I purchased was delivered as they said it would in 3 days. The young men that delivered the chair put in together and made sure I found it comfortable and happy with it before they left. The chair is wonderful.
