I received a confirmation email immediately after the super easy booking process. Two days before the date of pickup, I received a 2nd confirmation email. The day before, Steve called to make sure my son knew where to meet up and other details. On the arrival day, my son's flight was delayed 3+ hours (arrival time changed 4-5 times), but Steve was there when the flight finally arrived and waited an additional 40 minutes while my son retrieving his check-in luggage. Before dropping off my son to his Airbnb, per my request, Steve drove him around the neighborhood to see where and what stores are around with no extra charges. He also gave my son some safety tips about living in Tucson. When they arrived at the apartment, he did not just drop my son off - he unloaded the luggage and then waited until my son was able to get into his apartment. I am a "worrier", but Steve relieved my anxiety of my son's out-of-state on-his-own trip with his excellent service. He really went far above and beyond for his welcome pickup service. A person in the restaurant mentioned good service from VIP, and the Yelp reviews looked good, so I called them up. There was some difficulty communicating my location, but the call taker was courteous and asked questions like would I be inside or out (it was raining and hot, so in), whether I wanted a text or call when the cab was within 5 min, (call) and then provided an estimate of 20 min. I did get a call when the cab was on its way and it arrived in less than 20 min. My driver was Deryl S. and he was very polite and knew where my apartment complex was. We had a good conversation how different taxi companies have taken different strategies while merging into larger groups. VIP if I remember what Deryl said correctly was primarily in Chicago, bought several other more national chains and owned and maintained all their vehicles (one reason the cabs look older is because they have been well maintained, are well built and paid for). Other companies have borrowed heavily and their success will depend on them keeping up on their loan payments. We also talked about Uber and some of the other non-traditional "taxies", but both agreed they don't have proper livery insurance or driving credentials, so one is taking on a lot more risk with those companies and will find out at the worst time (after a bad accident). Deryl dropped me off at my apartment and I enjoyed the option of paying by credit card which I know most services offered as well. Highly recommend Deryl S. and VIP as a full service, fully insured taxi option.

I have been Tucson on business many times and knew may way around. The driver took the long way around so he could jack up the price. Will never use them again. Too bad I can't give negative stars.
