Once I hired Carlos, he was reachable at early hours, later hours, and even weekends. Contractors in this industry are notorious for being bad communicators, missing in action, or disappearing mid job. Through my whole project, not one of those single problems occurred with Carlos. I was able to communicate and approach Carlos whether it was questions, requests, or concerns. Also, Carlos and his team were prompt, friendly, and hardworking the entire project. I am very particular and took my time to find the right hardware, accessories, or to make a decision and Carlos and his team worked with me to make sure they executed my husband's and my vision and to our satisfaction. Remodels can be daunting and comes with a price, so I truly appreciated their understanding. His pricing is competitive. Being that…read more Lake arrowhead has extreme weather, we had significant damage and needed lots of prep work. Frank's team scraped and sanded dutifully. For a fair additional price he repaired loose and broken deck railing. His teams paint application was infallible. All surfaces, under spaces, corners, tight spaces and hard to reach areas were fully repaired and well painted. We couldn't be happier with the job. First, the estimate was very reasonable and less than the other estimate I obtained by quite a bit. But I decided to go with Frank Shaw based on his knowledge about best options for the task at hand, as compared to what I had researched on my own. Additionally he was a great help with colors and called ahead to Dunn Edwards to make sure they could give me an entire paint color fan deck which i appreciated. He was prompt in communications and appointments. He also provided within hours of the request from my HOA, insurance documentation from his insurance company adding me and the HOA to the policy for this project (I'd never heard of that). Secondly, the crew was the best I've had the pleasure of meeting over 35 years of home ownership and many projects. Rodrigo, Maria, Michael, Mario and Kandi were so friendly, respectful of the property and belongings, kind to me and each other, and exceedingly polite every single day (11 days). They also seemed to take personal pride in the quality of their work which I'm sure impacts the quality of the product/service they provide. Also, this 3 story mountain homes with Alpine sloping roof lines off decks and uneven slopes was especially daunting and challenging but they handled it professionally and with great care to their own safety. Lastly, the attention detail, thoroughness and talent in doing ALOT of prep work (caulking, priming, replacing damaged wood, even wood in scary high roof-adjacent area off a narrow piece of deck (yikes), removing all the peeling deck paint and undoing the poor job previous painters did on it (not priming, using some kind of weird glue instead of appropriate caulking, etc) was remarkable (several neighbors commented on the prep work and requested info on the company). The paint and deck stain application was immaculate and inspected thoroughly on the last day for touch up and nothing, even the smallest detail wasn't missed. Thank you Frank and amazing crew!

We had an incredible experience working with Rudy from Dura Coats. From day one, he showed up on…read moretime, every day, and worked with a level of precision and professionalism that's hard to come by. Our home has orange peel textured walls, and Rudy not only repaired areas with putty and previous damage -- he blended everything so seamlessly, you'd never know the walls were touched. His attention to detail is amazing. We also have a transitioning arch hallway with different paint colors, and he executed the lines perfectly -- clean and crisp, with no bleeding or flaws. Rudy was also incredibly flexible when we made a last-minute change to the color scheme in my pantry and added extra door painting. Despite the added work, he finished right on schedule and his prices were very reasonable in comparison to other quotes. P.S The review from Cali S. Below is total nonsense and exaggerated! He was working in our home when he got his call. We heard the whole conversation, the person was pressuring for an estimate with little to no details on cabinets. He came by the same day since he had availability. He answered every question I had, showed me what he recommended needing patch work and such - was just very thorough and took his time unlike another person I got a quote from who rushed through things. I really appreciated that. The paint job overall was beyond what I could expect. He did a color consult with me and really took his time to explain how certain colors would look, gave recommendations and educated me on how things would turn out. Anything I wanted to ask about, he either answered or quickly handled. When the job was done, he was more than willing to go through the rooms with me, touch up anything that needed to be touched up and left no stone unturned.
