The West side is it's own world. And The Vista is it's own little enclave on the West side. Depending on when you go, it will be anything from a Mill bar, with Gunsmoke or Highway Patrol on the TV. To on towards evening, when there may be a pool league or dart league playing. I'm pretty much happy whenever I'm there, and I know the other folks are happy I was there, because of how happy they look when I'm leaving. It's a great spot. And I'm a pretty particular person. And this is a true statement to follow: (I'm required to say this by law since, "the incident") I've always felt comfortable and relaxed when I've been here. Think of it as the old Bill's Place. Without the 5am opening time. Opens noon. Although, when Pinky owned it, Patsy would open at 5:30am daily. I knew the time exact, I could set my clock in my apartment upstairs by it. Yeah, I like the joint.

Depending on the season and day of week, Shakespeare's offers brunch, lunch, and dinner. My husband and I ate one dinner here. We felt impressed by the 600 million pounds of boulders outside and the fun medieval-like architecture and interior design of the building (e.g., large doors, vaulted ceiling, oak panels, Spanish swords and shields, and tapestries). The seating hostess and the waitress served us promptly and politely. The dinner menu listed appetizers (e.g., poutine, pretzels, and wings), salads, sandwiches, flatbreads, chicken, steaks, veal, salmon, tuna, cod, crab cakes, pastas, vegetable sides, and some desserts. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Pierogi Flatbread - 4 stars - This flatbread had a wonderful crust, and it was topped with mashed potatoes, onions, and cheddar cheese. French-onion Soup Crock - 5 stars - My husband ate this soup. It had a nicely rich broth and onions and gooey cheese on top. Stuffed Shrimp - 3 stars - I ate this entree from the "moat," and I thought that it tasted just OK. Five large shrimp were stuffed with crab meat and lay on top of polenta. My side was a very fresh house salad. Queen's Prime Rib - 5 stars - My husband ate this entree from the "stockyard." A 10-ounce prime rib was cooked perfectly. My husband described it as "very tender" and "very good." He chose a buttery baked potato for his side. Apple Tart - 5 stars - We shared this dessert of a warm apple tart topped with vanilla ice cream. We enjoyed its sweet flavors. The total price for these five foods plus one soda was $95 *plus* tax, credit-card fee, and tip. My husband enjoyed this meal so much that he recommended that we return sometime to eat brunch.
