Great food across the board! Pasta dishes, pizza, calzones...All things I've tried have been fantastic.

First time visiting Sal's. Saw it somewhere before on a list of best local restaurants. We went on a summer Saturday evening for dinner. Interesting place inside. We were quickly greeted and seated. We were in a side room with lots of windows. The unfortunate part was that our table, along with many of the others had an AC vent directly above the table blasting cold air down. I am not one to be cold, but I was. My wife ended up going to the car and finding a jacket to bring in for her to wear while at the table. The large table of folks beside us were also complaining about the cold air blowing on them. They seemed to get up, walk outside to get warm and come back in. That was the big negative of the evening. The service was very attentive and timely. The food didn't take all that long to come after we ordered. The menu was large and somewhat basic Italian restaurant fare. My wife had an Italian hoagie which she said was a standard Italian sandwich, nothing special. I had the baked penne al forno which was fine, nothing bold or flavorful about it, just sort of a boring pasta dish that needed a little something to make it taste better. Reliable italian food in an inviting environment. This restaurant was the place to be on a blustery Saturday afternoon. We did not wait long at lunch to be seated. Our diners were mostly teens who opted for items on the lunch menu such as the chicken parmesan and The Works (a well loaded italian sub). We got a few slices of tiramisu to go and they held up and well and were delicious too. Great and friendly service. read more

Great friendly service. Sat on the bar side to take my daughter out to dinner on our visit to Geneva College. Bread service of fresh baked bread was wonderful although the garlic butter I preferred to be salted instead of unsalted. My calzone the Italian stallion was wonderful. My son had the loaded fries, daughter had the cheesesteak and my wife had the burger. Large portions and well priced. Will be here again! read more

Service was slow 1 waitress per 8 tables of 6 to 8.salads are a joke 1 little cherry tomatoe!! Hope that didnt hurt their income glad I got calamari I would of been starving .friend I was with got steak n peppers on some type of pacing bread something like that was over 45$ for side of lettuce with 1 cherry tomatoes her sandwich 2 ice teas wish I would of got a long Island ice tea maybe I wouldn't of noticed how scrappy food was ! I LOVE Sal's! I'm from Ohio and whenever I come to PA I've gotta hit up the ol' ristorante. The food is spectacular(I got the chicken Marsala yesterday and it was so so good), the service is terrific and very kind, and the vibes of the restaurant are on point. First time visiting Sal's. The place was packed at 5PM on Saturday. There is a bar section and separate table section. The service was exceptional. The menu has a wide variety of Italian food but also has burgers, pizza, subs, calzones and other not Italian dishes. I had the Gnocchi with grilled chicken in Rose sauce which is like a non-alcohol vodka sauce. It was very good. Prices were reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone. It's not gourmet but is more like good home cooking which is in line with the prices. read more

My mom is originally from the area so used to visit this place a lot when I was younger but hadn't been back in ages. We were in the area and needed somewhere to grab lunch, it was packed for a Saturday at noon. We started with the stuffed mushrooms then i had the eggplant focaccia (it wasn't actually but the homemade bread was tasty), my daughter had chicken marsala with alfredo (such a large portion) and my husband had a calzone with a side of alfredo. read more

The service is good, but the online menu is outdated. The place has beginning vibe of a nice romantic dinner place, but it definitely is not. The food was all acceptable, but not outstanding. We got the loaded cheese fries and zucchini planks as an appetizer. They were both OK at best. My son got the chicken Parmesan, which he really enjoyed. The shrimp scampi was somewhat disappointing because it had shrimp that still had tails intact. my wife got the hot peppers and side of Alfredo pasta which she brought most of it home because it just wasn'tthat good. read more

Bar manager/manager on Thursday was rude and unprofessional. She was rude and refused to give a reason for her attitude. She mentioned that we take our business to another establish instead of earning our hard earn money. She decided when the establishment closed. I told her we had a wedding party of 50+ people coming the following day and we planned on spending money at this establishment. She didn't care, she said I don't care if we make money we aren't going. Avoid at all cost. read more

Stopped in on Friday with my mother and wife. Very busy! The chicken Marsala dish was delicious, and the waitress was courteous. The nice glasses host cleaned a table for us to help move us away from the cold air from the back door. Staff and food are great! I will definitely stop by again! read more

We went here for our anniversary dinner Saturday evening. I rarely order lasagna in a restaurant because it is so often not to my liking. Either way too much cheese or noodles dried up and hard. A lot can go wrong. I'm usually a straight chicken parm guy (which my wife gives me grief about- boring and adventureless) anyway I decided to go for it and order the lasagna. IT WAS FABULOUS. I've heard so much about this place but haven't had the opportunity to try it until recently. Walking in, it wasn't what I expected. It has a small family restaurant feel. From the way people talk about this place I was expecting a higher end establishment. The vibe might not have been high end but holy smokes the pasta was!! The Cajun chicken and sausage pasta was probably the best pasta dish I've ever had. It was the perfect blend of creamy, cheesy, and spicy! The servers were attentive and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time! I wish this place was a little closer to home because we would certainly be regulars. read more

Stopped here after spending some time at the Beaver County Airport. We sat on the bar side of the restaurant. Super cool and chill vibes! Food was very good and came out fast. I got the chicken parmigiana sandwich with fries and it was very very good. Ranch tasted homemade! I tried my friends "The Works" calzone, which was also fantastic. Server was very nice, and it seemed like the manager was walking around too making sure things were in order. The bartender also was making good conversation with her folks at the bar. Sals is one of our all time favorite places to eat! We love to sit on the bar side and watch all the TVs, people and workers. Last night, we split a calzone with pepperoni and green peppers...our wonderful waitress had it cut in half and come out on two plates...AMAZING! I had a bowl of wedding soup. It had a great flavor, but it was lukewarm at best. My husband had beans and greens. He says it is the best around, and he tries it everywhere. If this is your first time I would say try the beans and greens if that is your thing and get a build your own calzone or the Buffalo chicken calzone. I also like several of their sandwiches, and the salads are huge! read more

My husband and I spent the day in Columbiana, Ohio, and on the way home, we stopped at SAL'S RISTORANTE AND BAR for dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious! We ordered Zucchini planks for our appetizer; my husband ordered the Vegetable Calzone; and I ordered the fettucine alfredo with broccoli. My favorite thing was their superb homemade Italian dressing, which was the best I have ever had. I would definitely eat here again, and I highly recommend SAL'S RESTORANTE AND BAR. Was in the area and decided to stop by here for a bite. It was worth it. Had to wait a little bit for a table but it was within the time frame they told me a table would be ready. There were three of us and we decided to share some dishes. Highly recommend the Chicken Oscar which is available on Sundays. Very unique chicken dish that was amazing. The pizza was really good too. Great balance of ingredients to sauce and crust, like the frozen drink just wish I should have tasted the schnapps more. Would have loved to have eaten there however we couldn't get anyone to wait on us. There were at least 3 waitresses in the bar area. No one even said "We'll be right with you." There were open tables, so it wasn't that busy. We waited 20 minutes and then just left. I have always enjoyed the food. Hopefully this is just a one time thing. read more

You walk into a restaurant that feels warm and endearing. It seems full of people that go there often and know the menu by heart. Prices are good and the food is delicious. I had two cocktails and I felt pleasantly surprised at how well mixed they were and felt they weren't cheap with the alcohol. Our service was great and the food came out feeling fresh but we didn't have to wait too terribly long even during a busy lunch hour. I have never been treated so unkindly at a restaurant in my life. My husband and I stopped in for a late dinner after a long flight into the Pittsburgh airport. We were very hungry. The waitress brought me a cheeseburger when I wanted a hamburger. Because it took so long to get it, I thought I would just scrape off the cheese and eat it but that wasn't good enough for them. They insisted on making me a new one. And when I didn't eat it, I got scolded. Not only did the female manager yell at me, but the cook came out and yelled at me for not eating it even though I never asked for it. They were more concerned about perfection on their part than the satisfaction of their customer. My husband got angry because they were bullying me. I even got a long lecture on how they've been in business for so long and they've never been so insulted by a customer in their life. I didn't insult them, I just wanted to eat my hamburger in piece. They stole that from me. I will never go back there! read more
