Sparing you a lot of the details, I received an invite to a private fundraiser party hosted by drag queens. As it was it was for a good cause and because I'm an "easy Marq" as a financial contributor for such events I would of course attend. But seeing how the hosts were financially sponsoring everything involved, I thought it appropriate to bring them some little token party favor gift in appreciation. But what to get them would be the question, as I have no experience with drag. That is, however, setting aside a long 1962 event when, as a college fraternity pledge, my brothers along with our next door sorority sisters dressed me to arrive as the blind of the interfraternity president in order to make him the humiliated laughing stock of an interfraternity garden party as being stuck with a "blind date from hell." LOL! Anyway, I found Illusions Boutique to be loaded with all sorts of things from dresses to large sized (men's size 12) high heel shoes, wigs, makeup, various drag looking accessories and small gift items. The small gift items I selected were some fragranced rainbow colored soap bars which were custom made not only in gay rainbow colors but in varying select fragrances by a person here in Lauderdale. Overall it turned out to be a very pleasant shopping experience and the store clerk couldn't have been more helpful, charming and polite. So, should you ever find yourself in need of drag queen apparel or such other drag related items, I can highly recommend Illusion Boutique

When I got there they treated me and my son super nice they allowed him to walk around and were very patient. They told me I would be able to leave with my hair blow dried if I got my haircut. I said ok since at first I didn't mind not paying for the haircut or blow dry but they said I would deserve to have that. Well around 2-3 pm they rushed towards the end ended up just blow drying my bangs and front portion said I had good products to do the rest of blow dry on my own. That she had someone else come in and didn't have time to have me fully blow dried and said she owes me a haircut layers next time. Everything was fine up until the end. So I paid 280 plus I tipped 40 almost 320 for an incomplete service and not leave with my hair like I deserved when I walked out. It was misleading in the end so I won't be coming back. Everything else was ok just the mere fact that I go to a salon to get my hair done for a partial and haircut yet they do a half job towards the end knowing how hard it is to bring a baby. I was disappointed that I had to rush home to blow dry the rest of my hair when I paid $320 to have them Do it. Please don't do this to customers if you don't have time or let them reschedule when they want to avoid these things. I notice a lot of big professional hair brands products they had on sale and I was grabbing them up while I can. I was so amazed on the prices and the good amount of selection they have. This definitely will be my go to salon for hair products. I don't think they have a lot to offer on hair weaves but I am not quite sure because I didn't go there for that. They have a lot of registers in different places to cash you out. They also have a team member walking the floors to help with any assistance if needed. I noticed that as soon as you walk in they have pictures up of all the people that came in their store and steal. How embarrassing! I don't really like how their workers watch you like a hulk as if your going to steal but I do get that they have a lot of stealers that came in their store. It is with sadness that I write this. I purchased a Rio body wave wig from another establishment…read moreand purchased a 2nd non Rio wig from Styles of Hair to support black business on 08-22-22. Styles of Hair advised that they could service both wigs with dye, plucking and bleaching the knots. I reluctantly left the Rio wig. I returned the next day and they gave me 2 identical wigs, none of them being a Rio wig. I've attached receipts of both purchases and photos of other Rio wigs that I own as well as the 2 wigs that were serviced and picked up from Styles of Hair. I admit I should have thoroughly checked the products before leaving each establishment but I had positive beliefs in my purchases. This is a tough pill to swallow as a lot of money was spent. The staff was nice but I guess I just had an unfortunate experience with a little neglect on my part for entering and leaving the store both times without a thorough inspection of the product being left and picked up. I just tried on the finished products and left with a smile.
