I brought my car in for an overheating problem and to tune it once it was solved. It took 3 months and $1800 and Bob couldn't figure it out. Just pointed the finger, blamed the previous mechanics and threw parts at the car. I also paid for a Dyno tune. 3 months is way too long and I couldn't wait since my car has no top (seasonal summer car) so I told him I'll take it somewhere else and bring it back so he can finish the tune since I already paid for it. My fan was working when I was there and when I took it home the wires for it were fried. Another shop fixed the problem in 2 days...I told him the problem was solved and that I'll bring it back for him to finish the tune, except now he's backed up 2 weeks and I'm subjected to pay the hourly again. Except I already paid for it. Then he sends me waivers (that I didn't sign) that state if something is unsafe (like overheating) the Dyno sessions stops and he keeps your money. I have emails stating my car never overheated before the Dyno and they wouldnt have put it on the Dyno if it overheated. Except he did and basically took my money. Just had my bone stock 13' civic si dyno tuned here and Bob did great to say the least. He is very knowledgeable with all things car-related and very clear about what works best for you. I originally planned on going with the $690 Hondata Flashpro but Bob told me the Hondata reflash would do the same thing for $300 cheaper. These guys are great. Had them make me a custom downpipe and dump tube like a decade ago and it was solid work with great welds that fit perfectly. Went back today after a long hiatus from Honda tuning and they did the same great work as usual. They can do it all whether you need custom work, bolt ons installed or tuning. They charge fair pricing and do great work. A lot of other shops have disappeared over the years and these guys are still going strong. That should be enough to tell you they can be trusted. read more

My car was having clutch issues or so I thought. Every time I tried to switch gears it would get stuck. I took it to a shop called Chicago Auto Repair Service and they let me know they could not bleed the clutch and they suggested a new clutch and flywheel to fix the issue. They quoted me $1200 for a Duralast clutch and actually admitted the clutch looked good but they did not know what else could be the problem. I decided to message RCautoworks since I had a good experience last time I went to them. He immediately let me know that was not a clutch issue. They let me know the clutch slave cylinder was leaking from the bleeder screw and they had to adjust the clutch pedal along with bleeding the system. They charged me under $200 and had me on the road loving my car again fairly quickly. If you want an honest mechanic that is not looking to take advantage of you, I suggest you go to these guys next time you're having any issue. read more

Bob and Brandon do amazing work, on most kinds of vehicles. Their manifolds and welding jobs are top notch, and they did an incredible job on my manifold & 3" downpipe and exhaust on my Honda. I put a deposit down of $100 back in 2010, expecting to get my car done within weeks. Well, priorities shifted and money became scarce so I had to wait til now (July, 2013). I was totally not expecting to get that money back, but Bob honored it even though it wasn't in the new registry system they're using. THAT'S GOOD BUSINESS!!! One star because I dont have the option for zero stars. I went here because Bob is my best friend's son in law, expecting exceptional service since he works on performance vehicles. My Ford Focus ended up not running and Bob towed it to his shop. He put in a "new" air compressor saying it seized. After a week of having the car, he finally called saying the car was ready to pick up & the ac was fixed and working properly. He set up payment arrangements, as it was $1100 to repair. Upon receiving the car, the wipers (which worked when brought to the shop worked just fine) np longer worked. The AC which he claimed worked did not. I asked him over and over to take a look, figuring a good business man would stand behind his work, and ensure everything worked properly. I paid him a total of $800 because that was the agreement i made. But not ONE TIME did he try and repair what didnt work. And finally attempted to sie me for the remaining balance. We ended up moving and had the compressor checked by a reputable mechanic who took one look and said Bob put in an already faulty part and there is no way it worked like he said. $2500 later we now have working ac and wipers again. I called Bob to let him know that he put in a faulty part and he had one of his employees call to "laugh in my face" and tell me "karma is a bitch" professional, right? Furthermore, Bob didnt have the balls to tell me to my face. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP! Unless you like repeated messed up stuff on your car. And Im not the only one who has done this. RC Autoworks & Bob have NO IDEA what they are doing have shouldnt be working on cars. read more
