Was a loyal customer for several years (10+) until I put my car in their shop in October 2024. Dropped it off to fix a loud grinding sound when accelerating. They kept it overnight. I picked it up the next day after work. Mind you, it's after sunset and my vehicle is black. I got in the car and drove off the lot with Rick, the owner, directing me into traffic. While driving, I was hearing odd sounds and feeling a draft. Made one stop to get groceries; got back in the car and still heard the noise and felt the draft. I go to my next stop and parked in a lot under a light. I stepped back and saw the damage. Shocked and upset, I called and left a message. Then filed a police report. Spoke to Rick the next day and he sent me to Guardian auto body shop for an estimate....$5K! He thought it would be less to repair. Since it wasn't, he offered $2K to settle. But that left me paying the balance for something I did not cause. So the other option was filing an insurance claim through Quick Stop. I was able to contact his insurance person, they requested a copy of the police report. About a week or so later, past Thanksgiving holiday, they declined the claim. I was stuck with a damaged car that got that way while they had possession of my vehicle. I was forced to file a claim through my insurance to get the car fixed. I tried to reach out to Rick, delivering a copy of the estimate with a note to call me, no reply. So I am done! If you go there, take pics of your car and proceed with caution. They have left vehicles parked across the street in the Yukich Fields parking lot unattended. Be aware. I have referred multiple people to Quick Stop over the years. Those days are over. They have lost a loyal customer as well as several other customers. I saw others who recently had a similar experience. My advice, file a complaint with the BBB. read more

They stated I need a purge valve. One hour after I got the car back check engine light went back on I took my car to Firestone. Two mechanics confirmed the job was not done right in fact the purge valve where it was connected was dangling freely. It was not installed correctly. It was not secured. I had to have the job done again. The right way this time. And replace the valve. It's a gamble letting them work on your car. Don't gamble with your car. I advise if you need a car to work. If you rely on your car. Do not take your car to them. They will fuck it up. And you will have to pay even more to have their shoddy work repaired. I came to get my catalytic converter changed for the emissions test. They were unable to find a part so I googled and found the part at Open Air Jeeps. The part was delivered and I dropped the part and Jeep off for service. They also offered a drop-off which was very helpful and saved on a Uber. I picked the Jeep up and was instructed to drive for a week. I went on drive to Oakbrook and when I came back the check engine light was on. I took it back and they replaced the O2 censor and was told to drive again for days and bring it back so they can check if it's ready for the test. When I brought it back I was told I need to change the catalytic converter again and I would have to pay for labor again because it was not brought from them. I left and took the vehicle to another shop and was told the converter and O2 sensors were fine it's just the computer isn't reading it. They suggested a computer relearn and to complete a drive cycle of 50-60 miles on an expressway way which I completed in two days. When I took the vehicle back, it was good to go and I passed the test. Overall the work was good solid work but they gave up after the computer wasn't reading the new part and assumed it was a bad part because it wasn't purchased from them. read more

Honesty is a difficult attribute to find in auto repair. I've been going here for years. I send my family here and everyone is always satisfied. They don't BS and the labor is completely fair. I've had them service and recommend them for suspension\frontend, aircon and of course exhaust. They've done some semi-custom weld repairs on things like shift linkage or catalytic converter flanges that most commercial places won't do because they don't know how or want to sell you new parts. The only pitfall is some of these guys are so determined to fix a problem that they get themselves in over their head, sometimes a repair has taken longer than they estimated. I don't think this should affect the rating. I work in an unpredictable field myself and understand that almost nothing goes smoothly when you are repairing old, often under-maintained vehicles all day long. read more

We just came home from having our car serviced at Quick Stop Muffler. Our car was making a loud noise. We thought it sounded like the muffler. They were able to take our car in immediately. They told us some bolts had come off and something need to be welded or something like that, I don't remember the exact wording. However, they charged up a very reasonable amount. We could have easily been ripped off as we were sure it had to be the muffler. Rick the owner was very cordial and friendly. Even gave my husband a referral to someone to help with veteran claim. One of the best shops I've been to, called them about straight piping or removing my mufflers and they told me they can check it out. They cut off my mufflers at first for me to check out the sound and it was amazing so I let them continue. The finish product just sounds absolutely amazing, the welds are really good and it took no more than an hour to complete! I was referred to Rick by my mechanic. I brought my car in on a Wed. at 8:15am. Went for a run, came back and they said i need a new catalytic converter. I had this replaced at 80,000 miles already. Ok, no problem just fix it. $470.00 for parts. $85/hr for labor @ 2hrs. Parts take about an hr to arrive. Lets say they started working on it at 1000am. Around 12noon the mechanic tells me they got the wrong converter. So i have to wait another hr to get the part and about an 1 1/2 for labor. I left because i was irritated. Come back around 3, its done. I drive my car maybe a few blocks, ITS THE SAME THING THAT WAS WRONG WITH IT THE FIRST F^*+ing!! No acceleration and sounds like air is escaping. I bring it right back and they say it my 3rd converter. WAIT, i thought you fixed the problem the 1st time. Pissed, i say do the work. Bob welds a universal converter and the problem is fixed by 500pm. Cost was $225, oh but they gave me $25 off. Gee wizz THANKS! 2 days later, i turn my AC on in the car and something is rattling. WTF!!! I just spent my entire off day at the shop and now i have to go back next week. Today i go back 740am. I go for a run, come back. Around 925am they say the last mechanic didnt put bolts back in and the problem is fixed. I get in my car and it sounds like AIR is escaping AGAIN!! I bring my F$&@ing car right back and i wait an HR. For them to get it back in. I ask Dustin at the front desk how long it would be before my car in. He says he has to get a free rack. Okay, how long would that be. He says i dont know when I get a free rack maybe 30mins! I respond Ive been here since 745am. To the point, he had a smart ass mouth. I didnt want to match his ignorance so I sat down. Bob finished my car at about 1200noon. Im pissed off!! I dont know how long this repair will hold up but $1000 later, i should not be back and forth. You guys need to figure your shit OUT!!
