I only wanted to have my tires rotated and was told by the dealer I needed an alignment and tire balancing on top of the rotation. I was not having any issues with the car. Went to Autonology based on a recommendation and they rotated my tires without trying to get me to pay for anything extra I I didn't need. They Got me right in. Amazing customer service. Would never take another car here again in my life. Would leave 0 stars if I could. If you're fine with being RIPPED OFF then go for it. Disgusting humans to upcharge as much as they do. They will charge you 4x as much for parts than they actually are! Then they will rip you off with the labor costs! They prey on those that don't really know much about cars/repairs/pricing, especially women. They will smile in your face and tell you whatever you need to hear in order to get your service.. beware! The only bright side to this is that I find some comfort in knowing that I will never deal with these disgusting humans again. Don't bring your car here, they up charge for everything. Would not give the car back without paying for a scan charge just to diagnose what was wrong with the car, so I decided to let them fix the car. They added more and more problems to charge me more. They told me I needed a new battery when my battery is one year old and it was perfectly fine. They decided It just needed to be programmed because BMWs need programming so I had to ok that and found out the that the shop that installed the battery had done it when battery was replaced no refund from Autonology. Said I needed oil change it had been done 4000 miles before but I didn't remember so I said ok. I found receipt in glove compartment that says oil lasts for 9000 miles on bmw but they said 3500 They also said there was sludge build up and said I would need an internal oil clean. I asked about that and told them Ive read it can cause oil leaks. They assured me it would not so I agreed, but 2 months later I started having oil leaks. Brought the car back because of the oil leaks and they told me they would only pay for half of the repair job (an issue they caused) which would cost 4000 (2000 out of my pocket) so I declined their offer. So all in all this cost me 4000 thousand dollars for 1500 dollar worth of work. They changed the coils in car and that is all that was really needed and what I had brought the car in for. If you ask them how long between oil changes on a bmw they will tell you 4000 miles, but the manual says 9000 or 10000. Maybe after this review they will read bmw manual. I highly recommend taking your car to another shop because you will be nickel and dimed here read more

I came to Autonology after being referred from a friend for my 2009 VW CC. I found the customer service from making my appt, to dropping off my car to payment to be clear, concise and fair. I returned to Autonology to have my trunk latch replaced and their quote was half the amount quoted by the dealer. Needless to say, I plan to return to this location for all of my car needs moving forward. I highly recommend you try them out. The waiting area is small - but clean as well!!! read more

I have a 2006 Lexus GS300 AWD. I took it in for a diagnosotic after my engine light came on. i first took it to Autozone for a scan of the car. They came up with Fuel low pressure, possibly fuel rails need replacing. After Autonology went through their diagnostic testing they told me I needed Fuel rails, high pressure fuel pump,feed pipe, fuel delivery pipe,puel pressure sensor,injector seals, intake gaskets and plenum gaskets? WEll, the quote was for about 2600 dollars. I said wait a minute. So, I took it too lexus in Orland for a second opinion. They said everything above was FINE except the fuel pump. It was "failing". How is it that 2 shops come up with 2 different findings? hm? Then I had a "check headlight" light on my dashboard. Autonology said i needed to replace both headlamp kits, the entire thing at 1k each with 180 to install. 2180 plus tax. Lexus dealer said it was just a "loose parking light that neede to be pushed in and twisted." waalaa! presto, my lights are fine but according to Autonology I needed to replace the enitre headlight system? hm? Needless to say, another scam shop Thats why they focus on foreign vehicles, theyexpect the customer to say yes to everything because they might think that their cars are so expensive it must be expensive to repair. EDDIE and JAY have a SCAM SHOP. I WILL NOT EVER RECOMMEND them . BTW...they had bad reviews before and i tried to overlook them. Thinking it was just sour customers. We had our 2007 Carerra serviced with Casey and had a great experience. He diagnosed the transmission issue as a 3rd gear synchronizer being faulty. Excellent service and customer care. I've been using Autonology regularly for years. They have installed every upgraded system I have, to include modifying the rear bumper to accommodate a Magaflow exhaust system. Once a year I bring in my Jetta for it's annual check up with no regrets in the quality of service, repairs nor cost. Also, since moving from Beverly to Waukegan, I still make my way back to Autonology in Chicago due to the horrible nightmare service I received in the burbs. Eddie and Jay are fantastic! We have a 2011 Mercedes Benz GL450 that we previously always took to the Dealership downtown, a light on the dash came on indicating a problem with the air bags. They told us it would cost between 4k and 5k to get it fixed. Also they had us getting our rotors changed about every 8 months or so. We came here on the recommendation of a family friend and we are amazed! They hit the reset button on the dash light for free. And told us the truth about the rotors. I have had autonology perform work on my sprinter vans, and other none import cars and trucks, i have had a few problems with some repairs, but after all they are human. However recently they did brake work on my sprinter van, there was a issue with parts, how ever after a month Jay and Eddie said bring in truck and they replaced the brakes and rotors at no cost to me but my time. They strive for perfection and mean well. Their prices are inline with other good auto repair shops. Sticker shock always hits when a big dollar amount is given. However as I' m writing this review my white dodge sprinter is getting a new trans gasket, a ball joint, front end alignment oil change and fuel filter and more, this will be a hefty bill, but i will gladly pay it because they do great work and honor their warranty. Eddie and his team is fantastic. I have brought many different cars to him with peculiar issues and he and his team are always able to sort them out efficiently and effectively. I lived around his shop for years so pass by almost daily and always noticed the high end cars parked there so when I finally bought an import that need work I hesitated calling him thinking the prices would be outrageous and they would be snooty. Well not only are his prices extremely competitive (lower) he is very down to earth (friendly), has excellent customer service skills and vast knowledge of automobiles systems. I once brought him a Acura that needed an O2 sensor and me being very inquisitive asked some questions which quickly had him explaining its function and discussing the stoichiometric ratios that it controls. Another time I had an issue with cooling system that a flush didn't solve and when I brought it back he did another one and extra service on his dime and the heat worked flawless. Not to mention that I had an Acura mechanic tell me that the engine was bad (head gasket) before Eddie's team correctly diagnosed and fixed all issues. The car ran perfectly after that. I never had any issues with his shop but if I had to point out a problem the last time I used him I took a bus and walked home thinking he would be like other shops and give you an estimate the next day...well he called exactly as I walked in my house (within 30 min) they are so fast I should have just waited in his nice waiting room lol thumbs up to them for that! To sum it all up if you want fast, top notch service and quality prices definitely call Eddie and give him a shot! read more

Eddie, Jay, and their crew have been taking care of all of my cars (and sometimes my friends' and parents' cars) for 10+ years. Yes, I have sometimes found cheaper quotes for getting things done, but in every instance with those, there have been corners that have been cut by those other shops. If you want the job done *the right way*, bring it to these folks. You might suffer from sticker shock, but you won't suffer from a broke-down car. If you've got a 20+ year-old car (especially of the dodgy European variety), they'll be honest about the uncertainties they face with troubleshooting and repairing an issue, and keep you in the loop about options and possible outcomes. They are also as stubborn as an owner would like when it comes to chasing down a crazy electrical gremlin or other quirk. When it comes to customer service, they are lovely. I remember once Eddie was explaining something wrong with my car to me that was fairly complicated... There was a person waiting behind me... Eddie courteously told him that he'd be with him as soon as he was finished with me. After quite a while, I (finally) understood what was going on with my car. As I left, I heard Eddie saying to the man behind me: "And Senator, what brings you in today?". Talk about treating all of your customers well! A lesson from my experience for future customers: Don't expect an oil change to be a "wait around for it" sorta thing, unless you consider a few hours to be "waiting around". 2009 - Auto-Nology on Western Ave in Chicago, did not put factory parts on my car as they so promised... Eddie claimed they did but when the parts were taken off and checked by the dealer, it was determine that Auto-Nology had put on aftermarket parts. These liars, charged me for factory parts. If I were going to continue using their services, I needed to know rather Eddied lied when he said he used geniune factory-dealers parts. It didn't take long to confirm my fears, Eddie had indeed lied. Beware of the repair shop. They appear to be very professional and give you the feeling that their concern is for the best interest of the customer. When in fact it's for their cash drawers, and their pockets. They also claim there prices are less than the dealers, but they charged me more than the dealer. So check your prices first... get everything in writing. If you call and Eddie give you prices over the phone, go in and get them in writing. Eddie will later claim he never gave you a price over the phone. He will claim his practice is not to give prices over the phone even after he did. Don't leave Auto-Nology on their word as to what they will do with your car or price. If you deal with them make them write everything on your receipt. DO NOT TAKE THE WORD OF EDDIE OR ANYONE ELSE. Don't fall for the, smooth you over spill later... like... bring the car back in we'll check it out; if there's a problem we'll take care of it. Right? Sure they will. Eddie who is the MANAGER and NOT the OWNER, is very convincing. Bring the car back in, we'll check it out. All the time thinking he could get over the first time. You may bring the car back into them, and they might correct that problem. But soon you'll probably be back with another problem or the same problem. All I can say that if you're in doubt take it to another mechanic take it to the dealer. If you take the car back to them, you'll never know what they really did the first time. I knew something was wrong and I trusted my past experience and I was right. So beware... You can always try to contact the real owners, but Eddie is not the owner as he claims. If I could give even fewer stars, I would. This company had such good ratings that I thought I would give them a try instead of going to the dealership. I had two problems with my Bentley. The check engine light was on and I needed new struts. Autonology quoted me a price of $7,500 for new struts, but then said they has some they could rescue from an old Bentley they had available. For this, they would charge me $4,400. I agreed to these used Bentley parts. There was still the issue of the second problem: the check engine light. Autonology told me that before they could look at the check engine light problem, I needed to pay for a tune-up and cabin filters. Feeling less than confident about what had been told to me, I paid the $4,400 for the struts and opted to go to the dealership to see if they would corroborate the story of needing a tune-up and cabin filters before they would look at the engine light. When I picked the car up from Autonology, it was bouncy. Strange considering the struts had been changed. Off to the dealership I go. It was at the dealership that they took a look at the car and informed me that the used struts Autonology put on my car were not Bentley at all; they were Volkswagen! Imagine my shock at the fact that Autonology would do such a thing. The dealership confirmed that Volkswagen struts would not be strong enough and charged me $5,900 for NEW BENTLEY struts. They also explained the check engine light - an explanation that did not agree with the assessment provided by Autonology. All that to say this: I was bamboozled and cheated out of $4,400 for Autonology to sneak some Volkswagen parts on my Bentley. There has been no resolution. I would never trust Autonology with my car nor recommend them to even wash a car. read more
