I was referred to Montgomery Endodontics (ME) when I had a mysterious toothache whose cause eluded 2 dentists. The referring dentist said that ME is the root canal expert, and they would let me know if I needed a root canal. The appointment setting process was easy and Katya was super friendly and helpful. I was able to seen within a few days and she was able to answer my questions to my satisfaction. On the day of the appointment the tooth pain disappeared as mysteriously as it had come, and I planned on Dr. Mocknick telling me that there was nothing wrong and a root canal would not be necessary. Upon arrival, Kathy greeted me warmly and they brought me back very quickly -- within minutes. The paperwork was minimal and processed immediately. The dental assistant, Malia, came to greet me right away and introduced herself, and even shook my hand. She took x-rays for me and those usually hurt me because of the way my teeth are grown but she was an expert and the experience was barely unpleasant. Dr. Mocknick came over as soon as the x-rays were done and he also introduced himself and shook my hand. I was so very pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of everyone at this practice! Dr. Mocknick looked at the x-rays and saw nothing out of the ordinary. He did all kinds of tests to see if he could find a cause for my teeth to hurt but nothing seemed to be triggering it. I thought sure that that would be the end of the visit, since the pain was no longer there and a cause couldn't be found. Then he decided to check out the surrounding teeth to be sure and lo and behold, a bad tooth was found. He recommended a root canal, showed me on the x-rays the problem areas, and I agreed to it. The entire root canal probably took about 90 minutes, which he said was longer than usual. But I could tell that he was really digging around in there and when he showed me how it looked after, I could see a remarkable difference. The entire time I felt like he was very competent, and he and Malia did everything to make me as comfortable as possible. They both checked on me multiple times, and I even dozed off for a while when he was doing his work. That really says something! They did multiple x-rays afterwards to make sure everything was clean, then when I was leaving, Dr. Mocknick walked me out personally and gave me prescriptions and instructions personally. If you can't tell, I was truly impressed by the level of care and service provided by all of the staff I encountered, and though I'm not recommending that anyone get a root canal -- if you need one, go to Montgomery Endodontics -- you won't regret it! He has the latest equipment and has a great coordination with his assistant while doing the procedure. Mine was a difficult root canal, but he did with really fast with the least discomfort. He and his office staff have a very pleasing mannerisms. His billing practice is very clean. You get to know exactly what the procedure will cost you ahead of time and his estimates are not inflated unlike several other dental practices in the area.

I am disputing the insurance claim and will do what I can to protect myself from a fraudulent insurance claim and refusal to refund my payment for services not rendered.

There was a white bubble on my gum indicating an infection, and I had literally taken an x-ray at my dentist's office a few days ago but Dr. Chan insisted on taking his own x-ray and ignoring the one I brought from my dentist. Later, of course he had charged me the fee for an x-ray that was NOT needed. I had no choice but to pay. Aside from trying to wring as much as he could out of my insurance, that wasn't even the worst of it. When he was checking on my tooth infection, he was pressing quite hard on my gum to the point where I had to exclaim at him to stop. Why would you so carelessly and roughly prod at your patient's infection? I went in for a filling. Dr Choi said it was a bit deeper than originally though, but shouldn't be a problem. We did the filling, then he said see ya later but you're going to be mad when you see your face. A few days later, I had a huge bruise on my face and still have discomfort almost a month later. Unfortunately I only received one phone call from the office. I did call him a second time and he said that it was a possibility but it should be okay. I feel like there wasn't the level of concern that I was used to.
