Because they had not done all their complete work , we had to go and retrieve the check we had deposited at our bank already. This in the middle of a day where we were desperately trying to finish our move. Upon returning to their office, they blamed the mistake on the bank. After some waiting for the bank to fix it. The option became come back the next day. I am hopeful that tomorrow's visit goes better. To deal with a title company you would think that they would check all details multiple times.

Short/not so short backstory, we had booked our plane tickets to meet with the builders to deliver earnest money and pick out finishes of the home. They knew we were out of state and were willing to work with us. They had too many demands. Wanting us to go with their prefer lender (which we did) and title company which was not a big deal to change. Communication was very poor and she left us hanging for about a week. We had sign a contact to build our home by the deadline and she said the contact wasn't valid and then went on to make multiple excuses of why she hasn't talked to the builder regarding our contract and such. In all honestly, builder and/or agent was getting greedy because of new construction increase. I will definitely not recommend John Jones Real Estate or maybe just not Shawna.

We had a house fire and we're looking for a mobile to replace it on our land, fell in love with a lot model they had and told that if we don't put 1000 down by the following Monday it was probably going to be sold... So we get the 1000 together in cash and take it to the lot... Fast forward appx a week and a half, we find out that insurance doesn't cover as much as we thought and we now have to back up and punt and probably go with a used mobile now or something totally different... We go to get our deposit back and told we have to wait appx 14 days so corporate can cut a check I didn't bring a check, I brought cash, we had to get the $$ in a day or two if we didn't want what we were hoping to be our new home sold out from under us, but not even a full two weeks later and they have to wait 14 days to cut a check, well I didn't bring a check I brought cash, and if me and the wife can scrounge up 1000 bucks in a day or two to deposit on the home we wanted you would think a corporate company would be able to do the same?????? Can't put my faith in a company that can't afford to give you back the hard earned money you put up in cash without having a waiting period... I'd be concerned about a company that pushed for a deposit to be made like yesterday, but can't refund it with the same amount of time... If you decide to business here don't fall for the if you really like it you have to put up $1000 unless you guarantee you won't have any mishaps getting an approval or waiting for the insurance company and knowing you can cover the total cost because you are going to have to wait for the corporate company to apparently find the $1000 you have given them in cash and write you a check, hopefully the check is good since it is such a headache for them to give me my money back????

I had occasion to check the Yelp reviews for St. Andrews Apartments - just curious - and I was…read moreappalled at what I found. So I have to speak up: I have lived at St. Andrews for fourteen (14) years and that fact alone should say something. NO ONE would live in a place for fourteen years if they weren't happy. And I'm happy. During that time, the rents have climbed, but they are still in the range of other apartment complexes in the area. (and you can't throw a rock without hitting other complexes - We're surrounded by them!) Over the years, I've had lots of occasions to interact with the staff. Personnel have changed many times, but they have always been personable, friendly and, above all, helpful. And believe me, I can be as cranky and grumpy and hard to please as any other old man. ("Stay off my lawn" - you know what I mean.) I've had a few issues that required the help of the Maintenance guys - usually small things (weather stripping peeling off the bottom of a door, florescent bulbs needing replaced) and they've always been taken care of promptly. I had one major issue (in 14 years!) and that was a terrible bathroom plumbing problem (gag) that, again, was taken care of right away. Over the years, I've had several neighbors in the apartment above me, and maybe I'm just lucky, but I've never had a problem. I hear them sometimes, but the noise level is typical for apartment living and better than most. It's important to say that I do not work for the company that owns this complex and I receive no special treatment. If my rent was ever late, I'm sure I'd be penalized. If I had someone move in with me, I'm sure I'd be charged. Still, I'm happy. If you are reading this, please note that most of the reviews here are YEARS old. And some are really petty. (Of course the staff comes into your apartment. Would you prefer to change your own furnace filters rather than having it done for you? Would you rather chase bugs around or have pest control provided? Tennessee = bugs) And the staff ALWAYS warn you days in advance when they'll be coming in. Living at here is a pleasant experience and if you are looking for a nice place to live, consider St. Andrews. Smoky

There's one dumpster for the entire complex so when it breaks down, which it does a lot, you can either pile trash up for maintenance to pick up or you can hold rotting trash in your apartment. Outdated fixtures in the apartment thermostat, washer/dryer, 18+ year old dishwasher. The gutters have been clogged for over 3 years it was a problem before we came when we asked (and others did as well) for the gutters to be cleaned they claimed we would have to wait until summer. This is not the fault of the maintenance team which is really the only saving grace for this complex, there's two guys who were really carrying that team. They couldn't seem to keep a maintenance manager though. Our apartment kept taking on water at the windowsill and front door due to the clogged gutters.

I had their largest 2-bedroom floor plan with a garage and loved the set-up. When I moved out, my entire security deposit was refunded. Would I recommend it? Yes, absolutely. For me it filled my need which mostly came down to amenities (apartment and complex) and safety. I have listed some pros and cons below. The positives: it is a very safe, not too many college students (although there have been some very loud parties; many families with kids and older people live here), maintenance is quick to fix issues (although I had a tricky water leak that required somewhere around 7 requests to finally get resolved), and the office staff is helpful and friendly (Doreen in particular has been very helpful). The grounds are also generally well kept and it has good amenities. Close to the grocery store too. The negatives: it comes down to thin walls and dogs. I shared my bedroom wall with a neighbor. I could hear them having sex (so awkward...), snoring, morning alarm, conversations etc. You also tend to hear a lot of people's bathroom habits, especially if you are in your bathroom (through the vent I assume). This complex allows dogs - and I love animals - but when most of your neighbors have dogs, and one starts barking, they all start. At one time my next door neighbor would go to work by 5 am, followed by a very, very lengthy chorus of barking and howling by his dogs. Thankfully the management stepped in and helped me put a stop to that. But, during the pandemic, Zoom meetings were sometimes a challenge because of the barking. It wasn't constant barking; when it starts though, it takes a while to settle down. I also had at least one neighbor who believed the grassy area by the apartment was their dogs' personal toilet area; they never picked up poop. Dog poop was frequently found in other grassy areas in the complex too. There is a fine for not picking up after your dog, but I have a feeling it is not enforced. I observed my neighbor several times, told the office, but their behavior didn't change. I did finally step out on my balcony after witnessing it and asked my neighbor to please pick up after their dogs; she muttered something but did it. There was snow that week so the piles of poop were highly visible. Think I observed her picking up over 10 different piles of poop that one time.
